Hunter provided in depth information about the vineyard as well as each of the wines we tried. It's by appointment only, but part of the wine club, if you're lucky enough to be a member already. Really liked the discussion on how Talty lets the earth and nature do the work, instead of trying to maximize yield as many others do. Looking forward to returning in 6 months for another tasting and allocation.
Wonderful zinfandel! Michael is very passionate about every aspect of his operation. Stop and buy some zin you won't regret it!
Beautiful place
Fantastic Zin, grown right outside the door. This is a true winemaker - run experience, only 1,500 cases a year. I will be highly recommending to any friends going to the area!
Terrific Zins and a wonderful winemaker. Thanks so much, Michael!
Incedible award-winning zinfandel wine. Fantastic atmosphere, and very informative and friendly staff. The owner, Michael Tulty, is very gracious and clearly enjoys sharing his craft with others. Your tour of Dry Creek wineries is not complete until you visit this place. Tasting fee is waived if you purchase any of their wine.
Highly recommend, go here! This place is unique, you will taste wine from different years and it’s truly spectacular. As an added plus, you also will meet the best dog!
Been a zin lover since back in the day when Lytton Spring Vineyard was by itself, not a part of Ridge. Mike Talty is the best of the best! He's so gracious and easygoing, and so is Hunter (not to mention the cat-and-dog welcoming committee!). His zins are also the best of the best- each one is different, but all of them show off the beautiful Dry Creek nose and Mike's hand-on vineyard management. Wow! Go! 5!
We had a fantastic tour of the vines coupled with Mike’s narrative of the vine care. Hunter was also very knowledgeable and personable during out tasting.
As small business owners, Kristi and I love supporting other independent entrepreneurs and Michael Talty makes that very easy to do. Michael does a couple of things spectacularly well. First, dry-farmed Zinfandel. It's the only varietal he does, and all are amazing; both the field blends and the 100% Zins are all delicious to drink on their own or paired with food. Other reviewers have said that his Zins are the best in Dry Creek Valley, and we won't argue with that one bit. Second, he's a wonderfully gracious host and a fount of wine-making knowledge, always ready with a story or to answer questions. We drive up to pick up our wine club shipments because it's always a great time tasting and chatting at Talty.

Amazing wines. Michael Talty, the owner and winemaker is a great host. Wonderful zinfandel wines!!! Don't miss this treat.
Zinfandel magic happens here at Talty. Dry farmed fruit yielding lower production vintages while creating delicious wines. Tired of the big 'jammy' Zins? Try these amazing lower alcohol and spicier...more flavorful Zinfandels from Michael Talty. Bella looks on as the vintages flow. Salud!
Mike is an excellent guy. His wine is excellent and he like the best of music. Love this place...highly reccomend
A True Zin Master! A small production winery specializing in the highest quality Zinfandels. When visiting the tasting room you actually get to taste the wines with the winemaker himself. Always a great experience!
Best zins in dry creek valley! Unless you want 16%+ alc wines that aren't balanced. A MUST stop in dry creek valley to experience what a zin grape can and should taste like.
