We had a great b-day dinner & ended up meeting the founder of Matheson's drawn to our tale by the birthday candle so felt very personal & special as we have just moved to town & this was 1st personal holiday celebrated there!
The Matheson consistently delivers wonderful service, food, and cocktails. We were celebrating our anniversary and they really went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and special. The food was beautiful, fresh, creative. Everything we've come to expect from this wine country fav.
We greatly enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant and the chef's table was fun. Unfortunately, the kitchen was behind and we waited an hour for our salads and nearly 2 hours for dinner. To make matters worse, next to us was a food critic who was served multiple courses while we waited. The owner came by asking if we were “enjoying the show” but didn't acknowledge our long wait. While I hate to leave a negatives review, I was very disappointed with how we were treated.
