Found ourselves at The Wok as our “go to” Chinese place in Hollister a block away is closed Saturday for lunch. WOW! How fortunate for us!! The food is great! Fresh, authentic, delicious. The place is clearly a local “hole in the wall “ as described, but is incredibly clean and the people are lovely. The portions are huge and the prices are great. Though it was lunchtime, we had the family dinner with the Mongolian beef and sweet and sour chicken etc. WHAT A DEAL! My husband and I (BIG EATERS) ate till we were full and STILL will have a GREAT dinner tomorrow with the leftovers.
I only rarely post, but had to because ASK YOURSELVES: If you were made sick by a restaurant, would you take photos/document/reach out to Public Health, or write a review on Google? I would ask everyone PLEASE, if you have a terrible dining experience, take the appropriate steps to help us all…Think twice about whether everything you read is true. I hate to see GREAT places hurt by the review process.

My family and I ordered The Wok expecting to a good meal after a stressful day, unfortunately our food came with maggots. The owner refused to take any responsibility. My family and I got food poisoning and are still suffering from eating there 5 days later... I do NOT recommend this place at all.

5 years ago, this place was not great. Not sure when, but I heard there was a change of owner and/or chef. Now, the food is absolutely delicious! Hole in the wall chinese restaurant located in the same car sales lot. Don't judge its book by its cover. Although the interior and exterior are not great to look at, once you get your food, it'll be all worth it. Highly recommend the honey chicken, mongolian beef, house chowmein, and definitely honey walnut shrimp. Also, the portion of food is very generous.

I really enjoyed coming to this restaurant. The food is very fresh and the go containers are really nice. One of my favorite things is the diet delight menu.

My wife and I was on vacation we wanted to some Chinese food to eat, we went to wok Chinese restaurant. The restaurant looked like a mom and pop restaurant, but the food and employees were friendly. The price wasn’t that bad, they gave us enough that we have to take it back to our hotel room.

For a while I thought Panda was the best “Chinese” place in Hollister. I don’t like Panda Express. I didn’t know the Wok existed. I tried Cheung Sheng before and after the fire and I never liked it. Wongs is a nightmare. I don’t like to talk bad about businesses but warm beer, rounding up the price of food before tipping and making you pay up front is not cool. This is good, wish they sold beer and Coke. Pepsi sucks.

Absolutely delicious!
I had the veggie eggplant and veggie chow mein with sesame balls for dessert.
So delicious! Ni greasiness and great seasoning, perfectly cooked.
Mom had a shrimp dish that looked amazing. She ordered extra to go since everything was so fresh and scrumptious.
