“First time at this place. Very welcoming atmosphere. Clean and open. We were helped right away. The food came fairly quickly and it was delicious. I had a bento box with sashimi and shrimp and vegetable tempura. The waitress was very efficient and easy to talk with. Overall a great experience and I will definitely come back.”

“Funky little diner, second time we stopped here for a very late breakfast. Service is very homey, mom taking orders (helps if you speak some Spanish) and son running the show (no language barriers there). Ingredients are standard, gluten free is not a thing here but she got a fantastic lettuce wrap for her burger so it's all good. My corned beef hash was home made, not out of the can, and the potatoes are proper crispy. This one stays on our recommendation list for a super casual experience.”

“This was such a lovely surprise along our road trip back to Carmel from Yosemite. The food was great - super fresh and came out quickly and hot. My husband had the carnitas burrito and my girlfriend and I split the Tacos Governador and house salad. They also had 40% off margaritas so we took advantage of that too. This was a great stop in the middle of an area of California that feels less like a destination--but once we arrived we saw the beautiful Hollister downtown area decorated with string lights and ads for their wine and beer stroll and thought maybe Hollister deserves to be visited more than just on the way to someplace else.”

“I had the Citrus Beet Salad and it was amazing. I was back in again a week later and had the Green Chilaquiles end they were very good as well. Cute little restaurant with a small book and art section. Very fun place.”

“My husband and I stopped on our way through.
I had two pieces of pizza by the slice mushroom and vodka sauce
He ordered the bahn mi and a side of veggies
I also got a chocolate chip cookie and a brownie

The good:

The mushroom slice had a lovely mushroom flavor
My husband’s sandwich also had really great flavor
The brownie was simultaneously the fudgiest and cakiest brownie I’ve ever had. And was rich without being overly so.

The meh:

The pizza slices were kind of cold. The texture was… not great
I would be interested to see how the pizza would be if you ordered a full pie, assuming those were made to order. The crust is almost focaccia like and I could imagine fresh they’d be amazing.
I ordered the vodka slice for the sole purpose that it came with ricotta, which I love. There were two very small dollops on a fairly large “slice”
(Think slightly larger school lunch “slice”). So I was a little sad at my perceived lack of ricotta.

The mixed veggies were also just okay. I understand wanting to showcase your farm to table vibes but I don’t really need to eat parts of the top sprouts of a carrot or the stringy root of the radishes. I used to garden, I loved my fresh veggies, I cut off the bits that were less pleasant to eat. It’s okay, we won’t think less of your veggies for it. They also could have done with just a little longer cooking. The carrots were pretty firm and I don’t mind a little firmness in my veggies they were just a tad underdone.

All in all it was pretty good and a quick pit stop on our way through!”

“The pizza was great, I got something I wouldn't normally get. It has a garlic butter sauce or something like that. I usually get a classic pepperoni pizza but wanted to try something different and I was very impressed with the pizza overall. The person who put the pizza together definitely cares about what they do it was beautiful. It was cooked perfectly and tasted even better. The people working that we did talk to were very nice. The salad was also good. Pretty big place looked like they had a room for parties. Tvs every where so you can watch the game while you eat.”

I wish the owner would get a new location though because every business, since i was in kindergarten, has come to this spot to die. This restaurant deserves better access to customers. “This is the best neighborhood bar you could ask for. The drinks are strong and delicious. Their selection is not huge but absolutely enough! Then there's all the fun/interesting/useful/cute things that fill up the rest of the shop!! You could easily find a perfect gift for almost anyone at this shop. Take your time and enjoy the welcoming and loving interior. Then when you've shopped to your heart's content pick your drink of choice to the back patio for a place to drink in peace with air to breathe. Know that any money spent here will go to a good cause that actively supports our own community. Come anytime you need to be reminded that you are an integral part of your own community ♥️”

I haven't been to a Baskin Robbins in a while and this store is pretty typical. Service was very good. The store is located in a shopping center on Airline Highway in Hollister.”

“We tried Catch 25 for the first time, and everyone rated their plates an 8.5/10! We ordered the red snapper with rice and vegetables, mahi-mahi with smashed potatoes and rice, the teriyaki tempura bowl with rice, and the grilled fish tacos—which were so good! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked well.

The service was amazing and really stood out. Our server was very attentive, checked on us multiple times, and always made sure we had refills or anything else we needed. We would definitely come back, especially when we’re craving seafood but don’t want to make the drive all the way to Monterey!”

“This is a casual recently remodeled, local Taqueria in Hollister, CA in the Ace Hardware parking lot next to the liquor store. Has a nice clean, modern vibe with multiple flatscreen TVs to watch all the games and a small bar area. You can get your order to-go or dine-in. They have a nice menu board with pictures and prices. You order at the counter and then they will either call your number for you to come get the food or they will bring it to your table depending on who's working. I haven't tried everything on the menu, but the tacos are pretty darn good. I got the Carne Asada tacos which you can get 4 for around $10-$12 something like that. They are nice and juicy and the sauce is a little spicy but not overwhelming. My daughter got the shrimp tacos, which looked pretty good, and were extremely juicy looking and so good she even ordered more when she was finished and at $3 each not bad. The only thing and I could be wrong, but if I remember correctly when I ordered nachos a while back, they were not that great as they used what look like 7-Eleven cheese. For the price for the nachos and being a Taqueria I was expecting they use grilled cheese and melted on the order not some liquid cheese from a bottle or jar. So basically, to recap, I would highly recommend the tacos as they are delicious, but hold off on the nachos until they get better cheese. The only thing I wish they would put on the tacos would be a little bit of cilantro, but other than that they're still pretty good. Non-alcoholic beverages are a little bit overpriced. I mean for one can of soda it's $3 and for 1 bottle of the Mexican sodas, which she usually get at the store for $1 - $1.25 are around $4.25-$4.50 for 1 bottle.... they probably get them at Costco and cost under a dollar apiece and I get it. They have to mark it up and make a profit but that's ridiculous. Either way, I still recommend this Taqueria as the services good and the tacos are definitely good!!! 👍🏼”

We had the Beef Rib Pho, Passionfruit Iced Tea and Jasmine Iced Tea. Broth- full of flavor derived from 12+ hours of cooking-no short cuts here! Clean, clear and delicious! “I've been to this place when it was Metro Balderos and Taqueria el Chore, neither of which were all that great. Now this reiteration under its new name was excellent. I ordered a Carne Asada burrito which was huge, hot and fresh. The rice wasn't too salty, the asada had a nice sear on the meat. The asada also wasn't loaded with gristle which will ruin a burrito for me. They serve chips with your order and have a decent salsa bar. I will be back from time to time for lunch.”

“I haven't had Mountain Mike's Pizza in years and decided to have it again. It was very good, we enjoyed it. We ordered a Mt Vegimore with chicken and Sun dried tomatoes. There was a lot of topping on the pizza and it wasn't soggy at all.”

“The double smash burger was good, but I didn’t get the crispy edges I was expecting, wonder why? The French fries were right out of the fryer, super crispy and hot. Hope they made every order fresh instead of sitting under heat lamps. I also loved the milk shake actually made with milk instead of a milkshake machine and chemicals.
