Starbucks Coffee Company is a large, inviting location in Monterey, perfect for stopping while out and about. The coffee is amazing, great for chilly evenings, and the service is great. Staff are always super friendly, and the drinks taste great. One customer loved the Caramel Frappuccino with extra caramel without coffee and Double Bacon sandwich, calling them the perfect combination. However, the drive-thru wait times are rough, with customers sitting in line for 20–30 minutes even when the lot doesn't look busy. The line loops around the building, stalls for a long time, then moves quickly, then stalls again. Inside, 7–8 people ahead usually takes 10–15 minutes, but the same number of cars in the drive-thru takes double that. There have also been complaints about inconsistent pricing, where a venti cup of ice with 6 scoops of matcha, normally $4–$6, suddenly costs about $8. Customers should be charged for what they actually order, nothing more, nothing less. Despite these issues, the staff apologized for the wait and are always polite. Easy parking depends on the hours of the day. Dietary restrictions are accommodated with oatmilk.
