Update: Chambers is under new ownership, they have lifted their absurd rules and the whole place is much friendlier and more inviting now! Happy i can come back to this family favorite once again after my last terrible experience with the previous ownership.

Fried zucchini is a must! My mom wasn't a fan before, but now... ? I can't believe we ate almost the whole basket.

Love this place for apps, drinks or an occasional dinner. Parking is scarce so walk in if you are worried about space. The setting is gorgeous, they have a casual dockside bar and an indoor outdoor restaurant that has local lakeside fare. This is old school Tahoe with lots of history and people have been coming here for years. I enjoy less people than Tahoe city .....make a reservation

We loved Chambers so much so we came here 3 times in 5 days. The service, the VIEW, drinks and food is outstanding. Make sure to have a reservation. We called in the afternoon and was told we didn't need one and when we got there they told us we needed one. Thankfully they found space for us. I recommend calling to confirm hours. Most places are open but they do not serve food the last hour. This is where we had our wedding rehearsal dinner. Over we love Chambers.

I always love coming here to this place. For the food, drinks and view. Also a good place to being your dog for the dog friendly beach. It is a little rocky in the water but beach itself is nice and sandy.Nearby activities: Beach and boating and great hiking nearby.Food & drinks: Good food and drinks and far away from the busy tourist areas.

Okay. First off there are two locations, or specifically 3 areas of this place. There is a bar down by the dock. There is also a n excellent bar cabin area when you go up with an amazing view. The restaurant inside is split in three with dining outside, an open and high ceiling ciew, and a cabin like experience in the back. I recommend trying to snag the bar at the restaurant and eat there. You are a little higher than on the water directly compared to the dockside bar, and the view is excellent without boats blocking the view. The food skews sweet, or as our server put it, the majority of the clientele is "old white people" so the menu reflects that. It is under new management, but I think there is a limit to how much mango salsa can be in everything. The pork was excellent, the salad was sad. The servers are great, and the wine is good. Their zucchini fires were amazing, and were the best. Really enjoyed it out of the entire meal. Avoid the burger. Their famous cocktail was pretty meh because the slushy didn't have enough citrus punch in it; it was sweet so was lost in the rum.

Had drinks at the bar. New ownership and burgers back on the menu. Friendly, great view.

Had to stop in and see it in person. Boated in. Very crowded. Restrooms aren't much... expensive Woody drink.

The location was AMAZING. Super amazing place to have drinks or food with friends or for a date. I would never return though due to the service. At first the service was wonderful...until a mistake was made. My party ordered mixed drinks. A friend did not want one specific brand of alcohol in their beverage. The bartender proceeded to tell us about the other options by holding up all the other bottles that were options. They didn't explain anything about the other options (like cost, aftertaste, whether it was a good choice for the drink, etc). My friend wasn't picky, so they just selected one at random (which was *very* obvious it was a random choice by what they were saying to the bartender). The bartender proceeded to make our drinks, was super friendly, then gave us the drinks and the check. My friend quickly signed the check without thinking but took a quick glance as we stood up. Thank goodness they did. They charged them $75 for one shot that was used in their mixed drink. We assumed it was a mistake (thought maybe they charged the entire bottle) so we pointed it out. They said that's how much that one shot cost. My friend said absolutely not. They weren't paying for a $75 shot of alcohol when the bartender gave absolutely no heads up that they had randomly selected the most expensive liquor to put in the drink. I get it - my friend should have asked the cost if she was picking whatever the bartender had in their hands as they were randomly raising the liquor options. That's on us. But what happened after was what sealed the deal. The bartender proceeded to blame them for making that choice, said there was nothing they could do, and said people order it all the time. Irritating but I could have let this go. He then approached his coworker to discuss possible next steps. The coworker made the nastiest faces and made comments about how we should have somehow known how expensive this alcohol was. Our original bartender gave my friend the 50% employee discount on the drink. Although a $35 mixed drink is outrageous, my friend paid for it. We were ready to leave it behind us and return to having fun and chatting. Unfortunately, it didn't end there. My friend decided to take some photos on the deck because there was an amazing view of the lake. The photos were being taken just outside the bar, and you could clearly see inside the bar (and those inside could see out). The worker who made the nasty faces looked up, saw my friend (who had the drink issue) take photos, looked directly at them, and then started laughing until they walked away. This was the final straw. We were trying to put things behind us and own our part of the problem, but the behavior of the coworker (also a bartender and seemed to maybe even be the manager?), was so out of line. We will never return here for that reason alone. Very unfortunate. I'm generally super forgiving but I can't return to a place that mocks/belittles customers, let alone doing it in front of their faces.

The dish I got -- the salad -- was atrocious. The dish my buddy got -- the fish and chips -- was quite good, with flaky, tender fish. Stick with that. We're not normally complainers, but when we complained about the salad (it looked like a bagged salad dumped onto a plate), the server graciously took it off the bill. So that was cool.

Can't beat the view! Hence the 3 stars...would be two or less without... Prices have gotten out of control, and I can somewhat appreciate inflation, but $10 for a small bowl of Kraft Mac'n'Cheese is a joke! Plus no Chambers Punch! New owners need to do better...

Been going there for 20 years and always enjoy it. This time it took a while to get a drink and you could tell one of the servers was not happy with the bar fulfilling a drink order.

As with most restaurants these days the staffing appeared short on people with the few working scrambling to take of all customers. Menu is very limited and a tad high. Example a loaded cheeseburger is $31. Lunch was $53 for 2 iced teas a salad and a cheeseburger. Never got a receipt, just the change. With all that said the staff was very nice and definitely busting a move to help everyone including seating as there was no host/hostess. The views from the deck are gorgeous of the lake. I definitely recommend reservations as they do get very busy at times. Ill give it another try knowing what Im getting as this was a first visit. For those with limited mobility: Parking is extremely limited with zero up front parking for disabled. Ensure you have someone who can drop you off then park and return. You have to walk quite a ways to get to stairs to go up to restaurant. Beachgoers pulled their cars up to the front to load kayaks etc causing additional obstacles for limited mobility guests. We ended up walking out the back “alley” to avoid stairs which takes you by kitchen remnants, trashcans etc. we did not see this option on the way in to direct you if you have limited mobility. I was with my grandmother.

We arrived at 7:08 and were seated right away which was nice. Our server came over right away and was nice as well. Our Poki bowl was gross and bland, the tuna was grey. Then when we ordered at 7:22 we waited until 8:11 to finally get what we ordered which was crazy for the price we paid. Our food was ok but the vegetables looked microwaved and weren’t seasoned at all! Our server didn’t even acknowledge the fact we waited 50 minutes almost an hour for our food. We didn’t even get steak knives for the fillet mignon which you’d think would be a given. Our utensils weren’t out and the staff was standing around most of the time, not a single person made an effort to even turn on the fireplace which would have lightened the atmosphere more and made it a little more cozy.I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you’d like to blow loads of money on mediocre food and service.
