“Our favorite last stop for a drink before leaving Homewood (after last call at Big Blue of course). Has good specialty cocktails both hot and cold. Good beer on draft with local selection. Food is served cafeteria style and quality has improved greatly over last year. Has filled the Apreś Ski void since west shore cafe was closed for renovations.”
“Came here on a weeknight during a trip to Tahoe. We were seated in the bar area at a high top that still offered a nice view of the beautiful lake. We opted for the tasting menu. The first course was a kanpachi, which was very light and flavorful. Next was a delightful beet salad. I enjoyed the scallop and lamb dishes very much. I thought the service was underwhelming, as they asked for us to hold on to our silverware between courses, which I find less than ideal for an upscale restaurant, particularly for a tasting menu. It was also hard to summon our waiter, as he was quite elusive. Their house breads were fantastic, though, and I really enjoyed their house made olive oil and lavender infused butter. The triple chocolate dessert that is part of the tasting menu is quite small but very rich. My dining partner opted for the panna cotta instead, which I think was stronger dessert. Overall, we enjoyed our experience here due to the quality and execution of the dishes and beautiful ambiance.”
“We always enjoy getting Mountain Slice whether it's for the pizza, the ice cream, or both! Make sure to call early in the day to place an order for dinner as they get very busy and sell out. Today we ordered the tie dye pizza. I am allergic to tomatoes, so I ordered it without the vodka sauce and extra pesto. Had a little miscommunication on my end about the sauce, so when we picked it up it had a tomato sauce base. We explained what we had thought we ordered and the two guys working quickly made a fresh pie. Very thankful that they were so accommodating. The pizza was delicious with pesto as the base sauce! The dough is the star of the show. We've enjoyed both the regular style and the Detroit style pizzas here. Would love if they started doing some pizzas with other base sauces! Love that they are starting to do late nights with more arcade games, late night pizza, and beer. I think that's super fun and will draw in a cool crowd. Great option since nowhere else is open late. Go get the best pizza on the West Shore!”
“The restaurant is excellent in every aspect. The food is amazing, offering a delightful array of flavors and textures. The service is impeccable, with attentive staff making the dining experience truly memorable. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an exceptional culinary experience.”
“Great comfort food in a campy wood-paneled pub/yachtclub-style setting. Went there for lunch to grab some takeout, ended up waiting over 10 minutes to see much less speak to anyone. The place was busy with plenty of medium and large groups, the staff was overwhelmed to keep up. But once I was able to place my order the service was pretty quick. If I wasn't in a hurry, I would very much haven enjoyed sitting down at a table, there is also a bar.”
“Delicious smash burgers. We got the longhorn which was grilled jalapeños, bacon, and some sort of awesome cheese, and Lobo which had char, onions and cheddar! They gave us an extra sauce just like a chipotle ranch for the fries. I got a cream soda, which makes me feel like a little kid again. And we got a milkshake vanilla and Oreos added.”
“The building is super cute! They recently did a remodel and you can tell! It's super adorable and quaint. So I enjoyed that! The good... The drinks!!! They are delish! Really really well done! As well as the Guac and the Salsas! They were so good we took the extra home! Yum! The staff was super nice and attentive having it be a busy Saturday night and were quick to get drinks and food items to us! Now onto the main food. The veggie tacos were straight so amazing and good! The shrimp tacos were a little sad. They had good flavor. But only 3 skrrrriiimp on a huge flour tortilla for $11 a taco... is like... uh corn tortilla could make the 3 shrimp seem like much more! The garlic ribeye was very dry like it had been sliced and just sitting out, although another friend with the same order stated hers wasn't dry at all. 4 stars because $11 for a 3 shrimp taco on a huge flour tortilla didn't fit well. Now $6-8 for that same taco. I probably would have given 5 stars. $200 tab for 5 drinks, 3 taco plates, 1 burrito bowl, chips, salsa, and guac.”
“Came here on a weeknight during a trip to Tahoe. We were seated immediately in a cozy area in the back, and our server was very kind and attentive. We started with sashimi and lobster tempura. The sashimi tasted fresh, and the tempura was perfectly crispy. We split the Thai seafood soup as our main. This was super flavorful and not too salty. We really enjoyed the service and ambiance here too!”
“tiny parking lot but yummy food!! both the french onion soup and the chicken pot pie were delicious. i didn’t get any drinks (seems like it’s just dispensed by a machine) but there are tea and coffee options available. it was lovely to sit by the fire and read/relax for a bit.”
“I work in Olympic Valley and have eaten here many times. I love it! I get a pepperoni pizza with pineapple. Yes I think pineapple goes on pizza. It's delicious. We also order from them quite often for our Sunday group lunches for our staff.”
“I sample a lot of quick breakfast at the cafes around town and the Crest definitely gets an award! I was hooked on the Bomb Sando, but now gravitate to the Brunch Burrito with grilled veggies probably twice a week”
“Scott, our super friendly bartender told us that it was Monday Ramen night. The Ramen with the short rib was full of flavor and toppings. We also had the Fungi pizza which had such a great crunch crust and was also loaded with toppings. This was a great find!”
“Ordered a breakfast burrito and a latte. Burrito was delicious. The pastries looked immaculate and I will definitely be back to try them. Tons of gluten free options and a loaf of gluten free bread that looked incredible. The coffee was slightly too darkly roasted for my taste, it tasted somewhat bitter. Not bad in a pinch though.”
“Yelp does it again, helping us find another fabulous establishment. We were quite hungry after a drive and a little sightseeing and ready for a late lunch, preferably something healthy-ish. While there was an A-frame sign out front that said Bluefish, the establishment we walked into was more of a liquor store with small bar in front. We initially thought we were in the wrong place. Perhaps some of the reviews had mentioned this, but I hadn't dug deep. Luckily, after walking out of the store, we walked back in towards the back and located Bluefish. While there are some Poké combos you can choose from, you can also customize your own bowl. The four of us each decided to customize and we were not disappointed! At an hour before closing they were out of white rice, but we were all OK with eating brown rice (plus adds to health factor). You can select your protein, rice and/or salad, sauce(s) and unlimited toppings. I got spicy tuna, salmon, Yuzu something rather (Mayo) and garlic ponzu sauces and many yummy toppings. The fish was quite fresh tasting, the sauces on point (yuzu Mayo was great!) and the rice cooked just right. I really like that you can select an unlimited amount toppings when you customize your bowl, even avocado! The service was also good, especially the young lady working the front. She helped me with my canned margarita order, sharing a little story about the drink's creator, and was sweet enough to put my drink in a glass with ice. The liquor store also has quite a nice selection of wine, liquor, beer and other canned / bottled adult beverages (sorry, no pictures of their selection). And the section adjacent to Bluefish has a small selection of Asian market goods. My fam gave me props for finding another good place to eat at. 4.5 stars. Thanks Yelp for not letting us down!”
“The talented folks at Uncommon Kitchen always create and serve an eclectic variety of fresh, delicious dishes. From salads to sushi, brisket to noodle bowls, UK never disappoints. Check it out, you won’t be sorry.”
“We stopped in after a stroll around the lake with our baby and posted up on the outdoor patio. We were greeted warmly and received delicious recommendations for both beer and the lunch menu—spot ON were the Cali common beer and their amber. And the food…SO delicious! Dan Dan noodles are not to be missed, they have a beautiful Szechuan influence and kale, we devour every bite. They grind the meat for their burger in-house and you can taste the goodness between the havarti and arugula. Love coming here every visit!”
“Everything here is sort of what you expect for a restaurant in a resort. However they are really bad at calculating how long of a wait you will have. My 20 minute what I was quoted was over 1hr 30min.The one saving grace of the this place was our server. She was excellent.”
“This place is a gem! The he prices were fair, the selection of wine and beer was great and they had a fun wine and chocolate pairing! Lots of seating and excellent service. Will definitely be back!”
“If we plan on dining out we always consider Cedar House first depending on what the specials are. Haven't been disappointed yet as the location is most convenient to us, the dining room is quiet and comfortable, and the food is delicious and plentiful, so much so that we always have some to take home. We will continue to be repeat customers.”
“Stopped by when we were in Tahoe and we wanted some coffee. The shop was super cozy and had cool decorations throughout. It was fairly busy and cramped. We got some coffee, cookies, and fruit smoothies. We loved the smoothies the most. The staff were very friendly and checked on our group which was nice. It's a great location by the lake and will stop by next time we're in town.”
“If I could give more than 5 starts, I would. The service and food were amazing. Wish we discovered this place earlier in our trip. Definitely will be back (and can't wait)!”
“My wife and I stopped here for a leisurely lunch on a beautiful warm sunny day in March. We sat on the deck and had a couple of beers, the caesar salad and chicken flat bread. Staff was friendly and the food was good. It was a pretty idealic afternoon.”
“The atmosphere was fantastic, and the views were amazing. The food was fantastic. The staff handled our large group with with a good attention to detail and care. I will be back next time I visit Lake Tahoe.”
“My favorite place in Tahoe City. Very good pizza, surprisingly great tacos, and good beer/soda selection. For fellow Tahoe Rim Trail hikers...this is only 300 feet off the trail!!!! Great ambiance sitting outside and my dogs like to play in Truckee river.”
“This place is a solid. Good food, good service. My salad had pears and candied pecans. Loved the taste, it all blended together perfectly. The Alaskan Halibut is the signature dish. The fish was a bit dry, but the lemon sauce made up for that. We topped it off with a bottle of Malbec. Altogether, a good meal. The menu had some good choices, the short ribs and pork chop looked very good. One of my friends had the short ribs and enjoyed them. The waiter was a bit of a cut-up. He had a young daughter with him, about 4 years old. The waiter told us his wife was at the bar. Then, little Ruth said "drinking water". Quiet place, good for a date night or a good meal with friends. Recommended.”
“I visited River Ranch on my ski trip out West from NYC. I went with 4 other friends of mine and we had a nice dinner. The service took a little while to first attend to us when we sat down such as getting water or acknowledging us. But, we had a nice time. Everyone enjoyed their meals and my lamb shank was super amazing. I also had the best sweet potato maple cheesecake in my life here. It was close to the mountain where we stayed and I would return given the opportunity.”
“Le Chamois is one of the most well-known places to grab a drink after a long day of skiing at Palasides Tahoe. It's no frills like most of the best apres spots at ski mountains, but this place is a must visit to refresh and recharge! It was very crowded on the occasion that we stopped by. The service was still excellent.”
“This Place was BAD ASS. The atmosphere had good vibes. The bartenders were so pleasant and welcoming. Marc and I will definitely be back soon. #isbte. #bar86. life is f...ing beautifu. #scotty”
“My SO, the pups, and I were stoked we found Waterman's Landing next to Patton Beach. This is a cute coffee cafe/shop that serves up your favorite caffeine beverages and brunch items. The shop also has services like kayak rental, and per the barista, they're adding a motorboat service in the summer of 2024. My SO and I asked at the window in the back of the shop if we could bring our hounds in. The barista (I didn't catch her name) was super friendly and let us bring the pups in. DRINKS * Latte - good notes of espresso deliciousness * White Mocha Latte - I ordered this with their homemade almond milk, the only alternative available to dairy creamer/milk. I added some peppermint syrup to make it a peppermint white mocha. I enjoyed it because it wasn't overly sweet. The almond milk was very smooth and tasted delicious. We will return to grab a drink, even lunch, and visit during the summer to check out the kayak service. The dog-friendly beach right behind makes it so much easier with the pups.”
“Mountain Magic at Big Blue View Bar, Homewood Ski ResortBig Blue View Bar, perched mid-mountain at Homewood Ski Resort, is a slice of alpine paradise for Jessica and me. As locals, Homewood is our winter haven, and Big Blue is the cherry on top of this snowy delight. The place is an embodiment of mountain charm, where the allure of fresh slopes meets the comfort of hearty food and warming drinks. Whether it’s burritos, drinks, or other culinary treats, the menu seems to stretch as long as the ski runs. But let’s talk about the views – they’re nothing short of magical. Sitting here, beverage in one hand, burrito in the other, gazing out at the pristine blues of Lake Tahoe on a clear day is an experience hard to rival. It’s these moments that make Big Blue a must-visit spot on the mountain.Service? It's as heartwarming as the food and drinks. Everything is served with a side of love, making each visit memorable."For a heavenly ski break with views and brews, Big Blue View Bar is your Homewood highpoint."”
