“Katie recommended the mushrooms and snap pea/asparagus salad. We also got the burger and the pork belly Mac and cheese. Every dish was unique and flavorful and we can’t wait to be back. Beyond that, Katie provided amazing service and was so personable and kind! She is a gem and deserves a raise!”

“Located on the main drag through town with some outdoor and indoor seating. These were some of the largest portion tacos I’ve ever had. I had a chicken and a carne asada and my wife had the carnitas and a pork taco. We traded tastings and could not decide which was best. All were great. And the servers helped point us to other great places they liked to eat locally.”

“This restaurant is fantastic! Lukas was one of the best servers I have come across. They have unique and flavorful twists on traditional Scandinavian dishes. And the manager Jeff sources local foods. The ahi appetizer in cones was a recommendation from Jeff and did not disappoint. Our Schnitzel was fabulous and so was the elk pot pie. It was quiet at the time we happened to be there so we got to chat a bit. We learned that the owner’s daughter is the pastry chef so we had to try the cheesecake. Also delicious. It was just a great dining experience.”

“A bike event on Sunday turned into a cold, rainy, windy, miserable day. We went to The Dam Cafe for hot chocolate and got so much love! The owner not only welcomed the wet, muddy riders in, she put out space heaters and wrapped us in blankets! Amazing! I was so cold and was warmed both physically and emotionally by the kindness. The food and drink where delicious. Can’t say enough good things. A little cottage of heaven in Tahoe City!”
