“Beautiful location were you can enjoy both the food the service and the outdoors. We drive from clovis just to eat here. 5 stars all around. Try the maragita pizza..plus the winks are nice and bbq spicy.”
“I rarely leave reviews, but this place deserves the attention. The beer was phenomenal. I tried three different brews and each one was my favorite. On top of that, Montana, the Paleontologist by day and server by night made our experience memorable. I brought my toddler with me and she entertained both of us the entire time (in a great way) with amazing facts around dinosaurs and was an absolute gem. Their location is a bit hidden, but fully worth the visit. It's SO cool inside. We took off right before trivia night, but I'll definitely be bringing my wife back to join the fun. Anyone looking for a place to stop by should add this to their list. Huge appreciation to Montana for such an enjoyable time.”
“Lives up to the hype! Finally checked out this place and was not disappointed. Arrived just before 12:30 to about ten people already in line and they had already run out of their chicken sandwich special but I wanted the falafel bowl anyway which was fresh and delicious. I added the avocado salsa which I wish was thicker but the taste was great. The outside patio area is great for kids and dogs if you don't mind the occasional sound from the jets which you could still talk over if you spoke loud enough, so it gets a ding for atmosphere because seating inside was hard to get as well, but if you're getting food to go then it's a good option. Plenty of airport parking!”
“Love everything about Christy Hill. The staff are all very attentive and charming. Food is always spectacular. And the view is to die for. Very intimate property for all occasions. Highly recommend for any adventurous foodie.”
“Exceptional! We made reservations for my boyfriend’s birthday. We got the price fixe menu and the wine pairings. Every single dish was fantastic and we learned a ton about the wine we were tasting.Wine pairing = 2.5-3 glasses of wine matched with the courses you choose. I wish there would have been more California wines on the menu (I’m biased!) but the wine did not disappoint.Price fixe menu = four choices with two special treats from the chef. Exceptional flavors and presentation. There were at least five different wait staff we interacted with, and the host, all lovely and helpful.Total cost of the meal including tip and tax came to $635.00 for the two of us. We spent about 2.5 hours dining at Trokay and most of the next day talking about it. Highly recommend for a special occasion.”
“Came in on Friday and again on Saturday!!!Food is amazing, loved the Branzino, pizzas spectacular and best of all is service!I’m from SD, but definitely marking this spot as my favorite anytime I’m in Truckee!Fantastic Après Ski!!!”
“The food is just right, with delightful flavors and perfectly cooked textures, yet the restaurant feels cozy and unpretentious.I think the food is much more thoughtfully crafted than “fancy” spots further in to Tahoe City (caveat: I have only tried one fancy spot further in Tahoe City) - you can tell there is some creativity and joy going into it here.Every dish we tried was even better than expected with the flavors. We mostly had specials (seafood stew - shrimp/octopus/snapper in a light broth with slight chili kick, roasted asparagus beet gorgonzola salad with curried pomelo vinaigrette, fig and walnut blondie with caramel and whipped cream) plus the tofu and greens. Can’t wait to return and part of me wants to keep the place a secret!!!”
“HUGE PORTIONS! Friendly staff, food was delicious and was quite busy for a Sunday morning. Only complaint is that the wait service seemed to be slightly understaffed. Other than that it was simply ”
“A great addition to downtown Truckee. Had the trout, steak frits and cassolette mains and all were excellent. Tartar starter is exceptional. Ravioli and and Brie starters also very good.Service is nicely paced, never any sense of rush.”
“This has been our favorite restaurant in Tahoe! We haven’t been back for years but it still tastes as good as we had remembered. Love the thin crispy crust, variety of tasty and unique flavors, and most impressive of all… they bake fresh by slice! Staff was amazing and ice cream was delicious, too!”
“If you are in the North Lake Tahoe area and looking for a legit Third-wave coffee roaster then this is your place. I'm an avid home roaster and always on the lookout for small shops that cater to my tastes when traveling. I was fortunate enough to drop in today while the owner Drew was roasting on his trusty Diedrich just inside the door. It was a priceless experience getting to chat with him about roasting and even get his advice on my struggles to hit the City+ sweet spot with my dry process beans from Sweet Marias ?.Ok, coffee roasting geeking aside – You can't go wrong here if you want to have a solid espresso drink or a carefully prepared pour over with a choice of freshly roasted coffees from different origins. I had a perfect flat white with the house blend and tasty sample of the fruity funky Columbian they were offering pre-brewed. As you'll read in the other reviews the vibe here is chill and the service was great. If you enjoy craft roasted single origin coffee that's not too "dark" (ironically) be sure to stop by this place! Oh, and don't forget to pick up a bag of freshly roasted house beans to bring back to your coffee loving friends back home!”
“We were in Truckee for a day and my wife came across this place. Breweries are usually a good family friendly stop for us and this was no exception. The people here were fantastic, the locals and the staff. The back room had been converted into a play area for kids which was great. Good beer selection and having NA beer is always a plus. We had a great time finding this place and would certainly come back next time we are in the area.”
“Super cute shop, mostly for take out food. There is no seating indoors but there are a couple of picnic tables outside. Today I had a ribeye panini which was absolutely delicious. Very savory and satisfying. They have mole, pozole, fried chicken, various salads, sandwiches, and pasta. Lots of interesting drinks too. You can buy baked bread, dry pastas, sauces, spices too. If this were located in downtown Truckee where there is more foot traffic, I know that there would be a line out the door.”
“Little Truckee Ice Creamery made our wedding cake, and it was absolutely perfect! We loved how gorgeous the ice cream cake was, and appreciated Kenny’s attention to detail with our decorating requests. Our guests LOVED it! This is some of the best ice cream we have ever had and could tell that it was fresh and made with quality ingredients. I highly recommend getting an ice cream cake from Little Truckee Ice Creamery, and I hope we have the pleasure of visiting the store when we return to Tahoe.”
“My daughter and I come in every few weeks to share a medium cup of fro-yo. We usually spend about $7-$8 with tip. We only get sprinkles as a topping so that price really is just the weight of the fro-yo which I think is pretty fair. I like that there are rotating flavors and dairy free, low fat and fat free options. The POG flavor is so tart and sour, but I like it! It's usually pretty quiet inside and there are quite a few benches outside.”
“Truckee River Winery is a boutique winery located in the town of Truckee, California, in the North Lake Tahoe. It's known for producing a variety of wines, often sourced from local vineyards in the Sierra Foothills and surrounding areas. They have a small gift shop, overall it's a cute winery for a quick wine tasting!”
“Nestled in this little strip mall next to the 7-11. It's a great spot away from downtown with parking, for a quick, easy and delicious coffee break/sweet treat. I assumed all the treats here were gluten free, but alas, maybe not? Regardless, I believe that most are and while I'm not gluten free, they were delicious. Pastries ranged from croissants, to muffins, to cinnamon rolls and more. I went with the chocolate ganache croissant and the chocolate banana muffin. My kids loved both. A bit more of a 'spongey' texture, but still so buttery and flakey. I assumed the spongier texture was due to it being gluten free. My cappuccino was more of a bitter roast than my preference. They do charge extra for plant based milk. Inside is cute. And they have a fridge with breakfast burritos to go. I look forward to trying more things.”
“Wolfdale's is one of our favorite restaurants ! Fun to choose from a Very unique Menu , with delicious food. We love the atmosphere and everyone is so friendly and professional . Of course we will be returning !”
“Got the nitro cold brew, a honey-vanilla latte, chocolate chip cookie, an oatmeal raisin cookie, the huevos ranchero frittata, and the ham and cheese quiche. We can very enthusiastically say that every single sip and bite was pure excellence. So disappointed we found this place on our way out of town, but will look forward to the next time we visit.”
“So delicious! We’ve used FBD for catering for work meetings, and recommended it to friends coming into town. Ordering is easy and our order is always ready early / on time and prepared exactly as expected.”
“Delicious smash burgers. We got the longhorn which was grilled jalapeños, bacon, and some sort of awesome cheese, and Lobo which had char, onions and cheddar! They gave us an extra sauce just like a chipotle ranch for the fries. I got a cream soda, which makes me feel like a little kid again. And we got a milkshake vanilla and Oreos added.”
“The pastries are fantastic! The so tasty and perfect blend of flakey and fluffy, not an easy feat. The baked goods are also beautiful. The coffee was tasty and complimented the baked goods well. The atmosphere is kid friendly and has a great blend of locals and visitors. They had high chairs available. I would post pictures but we ate everything too quickly.Dietary restrictions: They had a few gluten free options that looked delicious. Everything was very clearly labeled for allergies (gluten and nuts, etc.).”
“Avocado toast was odd, more like a packaged avocado shmear with too much oil. Coffee was good, service was also a bit slow for a coffee shop with 2 people working and 2 customers, but everybody has slow days so I wouldn’t knock them on it. Would come back for coffee and atmosphere, eat breakfast somewhere else.”
“Stopped by and enjoyed a ginger agave cider and hard kambucha with the most delicious pretzels and beer fondue.... the owner, Austin is the nicest man, the place is awesome ,great music is played and we will return for sure. While in Truckee you have to go there !!”
“Great family owned place for breakfast and lunch. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting and the staff is great! The traditional eggs Benedict are my favorite, I believe they're the best I've had :)The French toast is also very tasty. We will be coming back again!”
“I just wanted to thank Barbara and her entire team for always providing me with excellent service and terrific food! Now that I'm moving to Oregon, I will truly miss this place and will always have a soft spot for all their delicious pastries, salads, and sandwiches!! May you have continued success, and to me, one of the best places to eat along the North and West Shores of Lake Tahoe!!”
“Good beers, good food and good vibes.Recommend the Mustache Pretzel and any one of their beers.Near downtown Truckee but there’s also one in Incline Village. Both have a similar feel with live music from time to time. Both good places to watch a game, grab a beer and have a bite to eat.”
“Delicioso! My son, nephew and I chowed down a chocolate bread pudding, a brownie, and a red velvet carrot cake. We all agreed that all of them are excellently delicious.”
“Really enjoyed the Brussel Sprouts and the soup of the day being a Guinness Beef Stew. Great beer selection but food is a bit limited. Almost everything is super cheesy. Service was really friendly and knowledgeable but got left alone for pretty long periods of time when we needed water/refills and the check. Still a really cool spot.”
“Descending from the mountains, in dire need of a caffeine fix, we stumbled upon Clingan’s Junction Cabins and Coffee, a picturesque oasis that was exactly what we needed. This charming spot not only revived us with its coffee but also captivated us with its serene beauty. My son opted for an iced macchiato, and judging by the speed at which he consumed it, it was nothing short of perfection. As a high schooler who’s not big on reviews, his rapid enjoyment spoke volumes, easily a 5-star experience in his book. My choice was a latte, served piping hot, which is not an exaggeration. It was indeed so hot that it required some time to cool down, but this only added to the anticipation. The latte was exquisite, rich in flavor, and absolutely worth the wait. It’s not often that you find a coffee that commands your patience and rewards you so richly.Clingan’s Junction isn’t just a coffee stop; it’s a beautiful, tranquil spot that provides a much-needed respite from the road. The setting is as delightful as the beverages, making it a great and beautiful little stop for travelers and coffee enthusiasts alike.Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Clingan’s Junction Cabins and Coffee is a must-visit for anyone looking for high-quality coffee in a scenic location. It’s a reminder of the simple pleasures in life—a good cup of coffee, beautiful surroundings, and moments of peace on the road. Can’t wait for our next mountain adventure and another stop at Clingan’s!Food & drinks: Drinks were great. I wasn’t hungry but the look of the pastries looked satisfying. Next time.”
