“I went to Cloud Sushi a couple of days ago with my family. They have a cute outdoor setup, and since it was a beautiful day, we got to sit outside on the benches.
We ordered at the window and I was very specific about needing my food to be gluten free. Unfortunately, I noticed immediately my food contained gluten before I ate it and alerted staff. However, the chef came out and rectified the issue quickly, which I really appreciated. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our visit!

The rolls i ordered were fine, and my partner and dad got the chef’s choice boxes, which they enjoyed. The prices were reasonable, and overall I appreciated the friendly service and the effort to fix the gluten-free issue.”

Planning & Setup
The planning process was seamless. Through a series of phone calls, meetings, and emails, their team guided us through our options and helped bring our vision together. The private yard offered a warm, relaxing atmosphere for our guests, complete with lawn games like bocce ball and cornhole. We loved the layout, which featured well-placed seating, umbrellas, food stations, and a bar setup.

Staff & Service
Management: Tyler, the manager, took incredible care of us throughout the entire evening, ensuring everything ran smoothly.
Catering & Service: Chef Marshall and his culinary team prepared a delicious, beautifully presented spread of boards and appetizers. The service staff was attentive, friendly, and top-tier.
If you are considering hosting an outdoor event, we cannot recommend Stella highly enough!”

I got the peach salad with grilled chicken, which tasted delicious! The portions were a little smaller than I would have liked for the price, but it was a great portion for a smaller lunch salad. Would definitely recommend going there, especially eating outside and absorbing the atmosphere.”

Every single dish was incredibly fresh, exceptionally tasty, and the flavors were perfectly paired together.

“Great service! We were able to sit in the dining room near the fireplace. My favorite ! It set the stage for a night of lovely ambiance and great food! We had lovely Cocktails served promptly. We omitted appetizers. Hubby had the steak and frites and a salad. All was excellent . I started with a cup of the Greek Lemon soup. Delicious! This was followed by the Thai Shrimp. Sooooo yummy! Spicy and so full of flavor! I had to share with Hubby and he loved it too. It was a very generous portion. We shared the sorbet selection which was a refreshing end to a lovely date night at the Lodge! Thanks to all our servers and staff. Our compliments to the Chef and his crew!”

I spotted a church building with a small sign that said, cafe open, as I was making my way out of town with haste. Alas, I found exactly what I needed. Score, big time. It is a beautiful, tranquil space, and the sandwich I had, Ban mi (add turkey)...beyond exquisite. The lavender drink concoction was eloquent and refreshing. Go here for a zen delicious af meal and very nice service.”

“I went in yesterday with an omelet in mind when I saw corned beef hash on the menu. When I ordered it, the waitress asked "canned or fresh?" That was an easy choice, fresh! It was perfect homemade hash and even contained some green pepper. The best that I have had in years! I ordered it with sliced tomatoes and was in seventh heaven. Can't wait to return. The wait staff were the best too.”

Do you know when you’ve gone somewhere once and the food was really great and then you go again and it’s not so great… Not with this place. It’s a little unassuming and a small strip mall in Truckee off the main drag, but that’s why I love this place! The food is fresh. The atmosphere is like the locals. It’s a great hangout spot when we were there a kids baseball team came in with their parents for food. Now this is a bar and restaurant with tons of TVs so be prepared the noise. It gets a little loud but well worth the visit. Services good the food is great and I’ll be back!

“I don't normally write reviews, but I had to this time. The Truckee food scene is modest at best. Most restaurants range from bad to mediocre, with a few notable exceptions, such as The Drunken Monkey and Moody's. Last year I would have included the Dining Room at Village Lodge in the "perfectly fine" category.But my wife and I went to dinner there last night (Jan 2024), and it was immediately clear that something had changed. The service was attentive and the menu was inspired. Andrew did a great job as our waiter. Before even ordering, I said to my wife that they must have a new chef, and indeed they do! It's made all the difference.I ordered the duck, my wife had the halibut, and we shared the steak tartare. It was all delicious. We paired it with a French Sancerre for an impeccable meal. Truly fine dining at a reasonable (by Tahoe standards) price.I should note that we were skiing earlier that day, and prior to dinner had a wonderful time getting to know some of the staff at the bar. We spent the night upstairs at the lodge (cute room), and the next morning had an equally good breakfast and equally good service from Bella. Also, they've put in a coffee bar right by the fireplace between the bar and the dining area. It's a nice place to warm up after a few runs.Highly recommended and worth the short drive up from Truckee.”

“Went to visit Cafe Lupine, at the suggestion of a friend and it was such a great experience. The atmosphere is extremely Inviting, the staff is both friendly and knowledgeable. There are comfy places and little nooks to sit, with padded cushions but also a beautiful outdoor patio area with nice seating and beautiful views of nature. I was on my way to volunteer at the Humane Society so one of my favorite ‘perks’ (pun intended) was Sophia, the friendly staff dog, who chills on the patio and greets you with a happy little tail wag, to let you know that she is so happy that you have decided to visit her home away from home and take a little break from all of life’s worries, agendas and everything else that can wait, while you take some time to relax and reset. Highly recommend stopping by to enjoy a coffee, matcha or one of their delicious pastries. You’ll be happy that you did. ♥️”

The owners are incredibly warm and welcoming, and you can genuinely feel their passion for baking in every interaction. It’s rare to come across people who care this much about what they do—and it shows in the quality of every cookie.

Also, major bonus points for being open late! When those late-night cravings hit, this is the place to go.
