The place was packed so the service was really slow. There was no one to buss tables and when asked there was some attitude. Tsk-tsk. Smile, even when it hurts!”

“honestly this may have been the best hospitality I’ve had in a while! My friends and I showed up at 10 am not realizing they closed at 11 and the host/server was kind enough to let us stay. It was 10 of us and only one of her and I think 1 cook as well. The waitress was so kind, she took everyone’s order, she was on top of things all the meanwhile cleaning up the rest of the restaurant. For such a big group everything came out so quick + the portion sizes were 10/10! My friends and I enjoyed it so much and hope to visit Truckee again to come here, but a lot earlier rather than an hour before closing. Shout out to the waitress + cook, we appreciated it so much and wish I would’ve asked for their names so they could get the recognition they deserve. 20/10 recommend!”

“We visited the Truckee Tavern and Grill for the first time this past Saturday night and we were thoroughly impressed! We received a warm greeting and were seated by the owner. I loved the decor and ambiance, very cozy and eclectic. We shared the Beet Tartare with house-made chips, my beau had a burger and fries and I had the Oyster Mushroom Shepard's pie. All were beautifully presented and delicious - the perfect comfort food after a full day of snowboarding. We finished our meal with the Carrot Cake which was *chef's kiss* delightfully moist and flavorful. We can't wait to return and try more of the menu!”

“Great service! We were able to sit in the dining room near the fireplace. My favorite ! It set the stage for a night of lovely ambiance and great food! We had lovely Cocktails served promptly. We omitted appetizers. Hubby had the steak and frites and a salad. All was excellent . I started with a cup of the Greek Lemon soup. Delicious! This was followed by the Thai Shrimp. Sooooo yummy! Spicy and so full of flavor! I had to share with Hubby and he loved it too. It was a very generous portion. We shared the sorbet selection which was a refreshing end to a lovely date night at the Lodge! Thanks to all our servers and staff. Our compliments to the Chef and his crew!”

“We ordered tuna ahi and sea scallops for appetizer , but the taste of scallops was very weird (with the sous didn’t much) thanks to our waitress Kristen, she gave us amazing hospitality and offer scallops with the sauce on the side and for main course, the same. Menu had lots to offer and the food was delicious. Unlike some other restaurants at the resort, portions were generous. And Tipsy Tuesday offers 2 for 1 wine by the glass with generous pours. I spotted a church building with a small sign that said, cafe open, as I was making my way out of town with haste. Alas, I found exactly what I needed. Score, big time. It is a beautiful, tranquil space, and the sandwich I had, Ban mi (add turkey)...beyond exquisite. The lavender drink concoction was eloquent and refreshing. Go here for a zen delicious af meal and very nice service.”

The Italian dishes and pizzas are flavorful, with generous portions and fresh ingredients. On our recent visit, the mushroom ravioli was especially good, and the chocolate cake for dessert was the perfect finish. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly, attentive service. A great choice in Truckee when you’re craving comforting, thoughtfully prepared Italian food.”

“Let’s start with the service. The woman at the till was so helpful with my allergies, extremely patient with my order, and incredibly friendly. Five stars for her alone! Wish I got her name for the review.

The salad was also great. Can’t remember the name, but I can remember the Brussels sprouts and quinoa :) solid gluten free options and a big portion”

“I went in yesterday with an omelet in mind when I saw corned beef hash on the menu. When I ordered it, the waitress asked "canned or fresh?" That was an easy choice, fresh! It was perfect homemade hash and even contained some green pepper. The best that I have had in years! I ordered it with sliced tomatoes and was in seventh heaven. Can't wait to return. The wait staff were the best too.”

“Gourmet pizza! We love coming here whenever we are in town. Family owned business and the owner is a wonderful person. We had the pleasure to meet him 3 winters ago. I am so glad how this place gets more and more popular!!

Taste and ingredients are great. The temperature control on the pizza is on point. Price on root beer is so good! Can’t beat that.
One thing to note, it does take long time to get the pizza, if you are in a rush, you can either call ahead to order or try this place when you have time to enjoy. It took us about 45mins to get our pizza a few weeks ago.

They have indoor and outdoor seating! How relaxing.”

“After a long morning of hiking around Tahoe during the chilly, fall weather, it was time to warm up in Incline Village with some hearty Indian food. We arrived for a late lunch around 13:00 and there weren't a lot of people dining inside. While that might raise some red flags in big cities, we took a chance and really came out full and satisfied with an awesome meal. We ordered a couple of large plates to share family style amongst the group and everything was delicious. Everything we ordered was incredibly tasty and filling from their Baighnan Bharta to their Yellow Daal. Bowls were easy to pass around and everyone got to try a little bit of everything until they found their perfect amount. They were also kind enough to separate the tandoori roti for me as well since I don't consume dairy (aka, no naan). Service was great given we were the only party and we were absolutely fine with that attention. Thanks Mehfil for a great late lunch for our group.”

“I don't normally write reviews, but I had to this time. The Truckee food scene is modest at best. Most restaurants range from bad to mediocre, with a few notable exceptions, such as The Drunken Monkey and Moody's. Last year I would have included the Dining Room at Village Lodge in the "perfectly fine" category.But my wife and I went to dinner there last night (Jan 2024), and it was immediately clear that something had changed. The service was attentive and the menu was inspired. Andrew did a great job as our waiter. Before even ordering, I said to my wife that they must have a new chef, and indeed they do! It's made all the difference.I ordered the duck, my wife had the halibut, and we shared the steak tartare. It was all delicious. We paired it with a French Sancerre for an impeccable meal. Truly fine dining at a reasonable (by Tahoe standards) price.I should note that we were skiing earlier that day, and prior to dinner had a wonderful time getting to know some of the staff at the bar. We spent the night upstairs at the lodge (cute room), and the next morning had an equally good breakfast and equally good service from Bella. Also, they've put in a coffee bar right by the fireplace between the bar and the dining area. It's a nice place to warm up after a few runs.Highly recommended and worth the short drive up from Truckee.”

“I really love this McDonald’s location—I come here several times a week. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and service is consistently fast. They recently improved the parking lot too, replacing the asphalt in some areas, which made a big difference. Overall, it’s a clean, convenient spot with great customer service. “Been here several times. Staff is nice and service is mostly good but main complaint is that they can't get their reservation timing right. Out of the 5 times I've been here with reservation, 3 of those seated us at least 20 min after our reservation. I like the restaurant but please fix your reservation system. Update: Liz the manager did an amazing job at service recovery. She came and personally apologized and let us know that they are training new staff, plus they are getting another check-in ipad which will help speed up the check-in process during busy times. She offered to take some items off our bill. I'm happy to see that they take customer service seriously.”
