“We were stuck on 80 for hours last night. We stopped in for food and a potty break. The kind lady up front was an awesome one woman show. Juggling the phone calls, register, dining room, kitchen and all the customers/chaos with a smile. She was only serving slices because of the volume of folks stopping in from the slow traffic on 80 and being the only one there. The pizza was fantastic, we went back for thirds! You can taste that the dough and sauce is homemade. Our kid loved that there were a bunch of games to play. 10/10 customer service, 10/10 food will definitely be back.Kid-friendliness: Lots of games for the kids”

“Great Lunch Stop. Really clean. Also perfect for a potty stop. Plenty of parking. Behind a gas station. The staff is so friendly, helpful, and a joy to work with. They also accept coupons. I have been here before and would come here again. You have to make this stop, it's right off of the freeway, there is no time lost.”

“Little Truckee Ice Creamery made our wedding cake, and it was absolutely perfect! We loved how gorgeous the ice cream cake was, and appreciated Kenny’s attention to detail with our decorating requests. Our guests LOVED it! This is some of the best ice cream we have ever had and could tell that it was fresh and made with quality ingredients. I highly recommend getting an ice cream cake from Little Truckee Ice Creamery, and I hope we have the pleasure of visiting the store when we return to Tahoe.”

“When I lived in San Francisco, this was one of my all-time favorite neighborhood restaurants. It's cozy, the staff are super friendly and it's a genuinely unfussy, American-style Italian place that fills you up with comfort food. Came back after a long time away and nothing has changed. It's still warm and inviting with just the right mix of boisterous and quaintness. Their pasta dishes are pretty generous and well-priced.”

“This took over for me and my fiancé’s favorite breakfast spot. I got the half order of huevos rancheros with chorizo. Couldn’t finish it, it was such a big portion. Absolutely delicious. My fiancé raved about the chilaquiles special. It was the perfect breakfast. Service was great, very quick. Bathrooms were clean. Visiting from out of town but I’d definitely reccomend to others coming by!”

“Le Chamois is one of the most well-known places to grab a drink after a long day of skiing at Palasides Tahoe. It's no frills like most of the best apres spots at ski mountains, but this place is a must visit to refresh and recharge! It was very crowded on the occasion that we stopped by. The service was still excellent.”

“I don't normally write reviews, but I had to this time. The Truckee food scene is modest at best. Most restaurants range from bad to mediocre, with a few notable exceptions, such as The Drunken Monkey and Moody's. Last year I would have included the Dining Room at Village Lodge in the "perfectly fine" category.But my wife and I went to dinner there last night (Jan 2024), and it was immediately clear that something had changed. The service was attentive and the menu was inspired. Andrew did a great job as our waiter. Before even ordering, I said to my wife that they must have a new chef, and indeed they do! It's made all the difference.I ordered the duck, my wife had the halibut, and we shared the steak tartare. It was all delicious. We paired it with a French Sancerre for an impeccable meal. Truly fine dining at a reasonable (by Tahoe standards) price.I should note that we were skiing earlier that day, and prior to dinner had a wonderful time getting to know some of the staff at the bar. We spent the night upstairs at the lodge (cute room), and the next morning had an equally good breakfast and equally good service from Bella. Also, they've put in a coffee bar right by the fireplace between the bar and the dining area. It's a nice place to warm up after a few runs.Highly recommended and worth the short drive up from Truckee.”

“We went to the cafe for a Carne Asada bowl. The food itself was good, but I thought it was grossly overpriced. The meat was delicious, but only about four bites. The bean portion was more generous, but very ordinary, maybe canned. The bowl was topped with a tablespoon of salsa, guacamole and sour creme. We got the meal to go . It was in a round container 6 inches wide by 2 3/4 inches tall and priced at $19 dollars. At least I didnt overeat that night!”

“This year (2024) the dining room has a new chef, and some new decor, and it is incredible! Hands down one of the best restaurants in the Tahoe area. Unique menu, we had dinner and then came back for breakfast and ate eggs benedict with short ribs. The even have an in house espresso bar. It's best to go if you're staying in the hotel, at one of the homes, or enjoying a nice day at the resort, since you do have to take a gondola or walk in. It's a truly special space with a mid century modern feel, and all the details well thought out. Highly recommend!”

Delicious. The EM Taco flavor?!? Amazing! It's an english muffin stuffed with tasty ground beef, taco flavor of course! WildFlour is a delicious bakery that also offers breakfast items and lunch sandwiches. If you are in the area, make it a point to come visit and try everything you can!”
