A little hole in the wall with good food. Though we visited in summer, you can imagine the throngs of skiers that are taking a break from the nearby skiing (lifts are right outside.)
On Friday, June 5, after being in the busy San Francisco Bay area for 2 weeks, it was a relief to leave the traffic behind and head east. Always liking to take the road-less-travelled, we exited I-80 at Norden and drove US Hwy 40 over the historic Donner Pass. Along the way, we came across the Old 40 Bar & Grill at the Donner Ski Ranch. It turned out to be a fun place, with a funky atmosphere and a fairly mediocre pizza.
Actually not a bad place to get a thin crust pizza on the summit area, I'll be back for more. Cool place to meet hikers in the summer too. Lots of stuff to do around here year round.
