Quiche

“Such a fun little shop tucked away in Truckee. Definitely had one of the best London fogs I have ever had! And oat milk to boot! My husband got the Quattro Fungi and it was equally delicious and unique. The atmosphere of the shop was so cozy and friendly and the staff, human and fuzzy were warm and so sweet. We will definitely be back on our next journey to truckee.Dietary restrictions: Dairy free options“

“The food is good tasting and healthy. As a local I eat here several times a month. The breakfast burritos are good and lamb bowl as well. Only complaint would be overpriced salads for what you get but overall good choice for a healthy eatery.“

Sugar Bowl Mid Mountain Lodge Cafe • $$$
Sierra Primrose Dr, Truckee

“The Lodge staff has really hit their stride and the extra half dozen feet did the base (and the length of the season) good. The chef and his sous are on fire. We finally have a regular order after a few runs through the menu: Steelhead Duck l'Orange Steak Tartare Carrot harissa salad And the Sticky (Toffee) Pudding But we will continue to come here for the service and the people. Special shout out to Brandon, Joseph, Rosa, Jefferson.“

Alder Creek Cafe Cafe • $$
15275 Alder Creek Rd, Truckee

“We went to the cafe for a Carne Asada bowl. The food itself was good, but I thought it was grossly overpriced. The meat was delicious, but only about four bites. The bean portion was more generous, but very ordinary, maybe canned. The bowl was topped with a tablespoon of salsa, guacamole and sour creme. We got the meal to go . It was in a round container 6 inches wide by 2 3/4 inches tall and priced at $19 dollars. At least I didnt overeat that night!“

Vegetarian Omelette

“Found this place just randomly looking for some quick bites off the freeway. Walked in and first thing I see is a table full of yummy goodies like muffins, pastries and such. The place was busy which is always a good sign. I was greeted promptly and asked for a blueberry muffin to go. The offered to heat it up with butter...oh yeah! A very warm fresh delicious blueberry muffin with melted butter on a frigid winter morning was exactly what I needed to hit the spot. Price point was good and also a nice clean restaurant and bathroom. The folks there were very friendly and enjoyed nice conversation.“

“Stayed at an Airbnb a block away and decided to try this place out for breakfast on our way out. And gosh, we're so happy we did! The quality of our food was outstanding. Great flavors and freshness. Highly recommend the smashed breakfast potatoes and aioli sauce. The service was great and everyone we encountered was kind. It was too warm to sit outside for us so we opted for an inside table which included fresh flowers on it. It's the little things for us. :) A bit smaller inside but still a great vibe for a quick bite to eat for breakfast/ lunch. We will definitely be back on our next trip to town!“

“A Spicy Start to the Day at Crest Cafe & CateringCrest Cafe & Catering turned a regular morning into an unexpectedly delightful experience. In need of a quick breakfast fix, I swung by this cozy spot for a breakfast burrito and a drink with a personal twist – the "Angry Dirty Chai Tea Latte," a concoction I dreamed up back in Tucson.Initially met with a puzzled look from the barista, my request for a dirty chai latte spiked with cayenne pepper (to add that 'angry' kick) soon turned into an exciting challenge for her. She crafted the drink with enthusiasm, and the result? A perfectly spicy, warming beverage that hit all the right notes. The breakfast burrito was another win – packed with flavor and just the right amount of comfort to start the day. It's these little culinary victories that make Crest Cafe & Catering a go-to place for anyone in need of a quick, satisfying bite."For a fiery twist on your morning routine, Crest Cafe & Catering serves up the heat!"“

“Just having a meal in this cool spot is a treat in itself. Amazingly kind customer service, a beautiful interior with a lot of personality, and yummy food! The menu is basic breakfast and lunch foods but they indeed do a great job. The french fries have a thin crunchy crust on the outside. They also asked me if I want my corned beef hash crunchy and I said YES thanks for asking. As someone who orders corned beef hash everywhere that offers it, I was so happy that this is the 1st place that asked for my preference! I will make sure to come back here every time I am in the area. The thought of this place puts a smile on my face.Parking: Parking lot but most of it is too wet and muddy. We ended up parking on the next street over.“
