The food is so wonderful and the people are so kind. I love the calm atmosphere. It’s a treat. Also going to a restaurant in Truckee without a wait.
Very satisfying food. Could use some Indian music. Waiter had a nice smile.

Based on the reviews, Mehfil Indian Bistro is a great restaurant known for phenomenal food and great service. The best Indian restaurant in Truckee, it is perfect for a late lunch after hiking or a late-night meal while driving through. The non-vegetarian lunch special comes with 3 dishes, rice, salad, nan, and dessert, and the mango lassee is perfect. Large plates like the Baighnan Bharta and Yellow Daal are incredibly tasty and filling, and the butter chicken and chicken kebab are so good. The restaurant caters easily for parties. However, there have been recent problems with consistency. The chicken tikki masala and paneer tikki masala had a weird, super sweet sauce like sweet tomato soup, the Dal Mahikini tasted like chili with no spice, the naan was stale, and samosas were thrown loose into the bag. As of April 2026, the food has much improved and is back to its normal baseline.
