“This restaurant is fantastic! Lukas was one of the best servers I have come across. They have unique and flavorful twists on traditional Scandinavian dishes. And the manager Jeff sources local foods. The ahi appetizer in cones was a recommendation from Jeff and did not disappoint. Our Schnitzel was fabulous and so was the elk pot pie. It was quiet at the time we happened to be there so we got to chat a bit. We learned that the owner’s daughter is the pastry chef so we had to try the cheesecake. Also delicious. It was just a great dining experience.“

“A bike event on Sunday turned into a cold, rainy, windy, miserable day. We went to The Dam Cafe for hot chocolate and got so much love! The owner not only welcomed the wet, muddy riders in, she put out space heaters and wrapped us in blankets! Amazing! I was so cold and was warmed both physically and emotionally by the kindness. The food and drink where delicious. Can’t say enough good things. A little cottage of heaven in Tahoe City!“

“The food is a little pricey, but very good! I got the pastrami sandwich. The music doesn’t match the vibe of a tap house at all. Also the service method is fast food design. You order and pay and take a number. Overall would get takeout for the food, but not enjoy in house again.“

“Last minute lunch choice after shopping, and we hit the tail end of the lunch rush. Parking was very limited, but I'm glad we got in. Kids had the Pad Thai lunch special and I had the eggplant lunch special. SFY! Staff was very friendly, and I can't wait to go back.“

“Best food we’ve eaten in Tahoe area. It’s a lil cafe inside a lil grocery store. We stopped in for lunch on a bike ride. The Thai udon soup and chocolate chip cookies are my favs so far. The salads in the fridge and homemade bread look amazing. Really sweet, helpful service. We ate outside at shaded tables. Will def be back.“
