“Love love loved this place. It's a cute little restaurant inside a grocery store. They have outdoor seating but we were in in a snow storm, so had to manage with the limited space indoors. But the food and the people were so good. My husband took the leaf eater and I took the teriyaki udon noodle soup. Both were Yum. We even took a pesto baguette to-go. Everything about this place is to fall in love with. ?

Vegetarian options: There are quite few options for vegetarians in sandwiches and noodle soups.. Plus many salad options.“

“Sushi of the hidden cloud is impressive. Who would’ve thought that there such quality sushi up here in Truckee. All the raws are fresh and beautifully made.

What’s weird is that they take reservations and the workers are surprisingly uptight about it. We were there at open and 2 tables were reserved for a party that’s gonna be there in 40 min. It was shaded, and it’s hot and sunny. So we figured we ordered and we’ll be done before these folks even show up, but we were told to move and can’t sit there by the server. Rather unreasonable, and with limited outdoor only seating, it doesn’t make much business sense to take reservations. I think more money can be made if it’s just first come first serve first serve. And I think owner can be a bit more lax on the seating protocol“

“Food is incredibly fine and very tasty. Very clean inside with amazing wait staff and prices are reasonable. The snow piled up here is on blizzard level but city just chugs along. Drove thru and stopped here and when I drive back home I will stop here again... I really like this place“

“This restaurant is fantastic! Lukas was one of the best servers I have come across. They have unique and flavorful twists on traditional Scandinavian dishes. And the manager Jeff sources local foods. The ahi appetizer in cones was a recommendation from Jeff and did not disappoint. Our Schnitzel was fabulous and so was the elk pot pie. It was quiet at the time we happened to be there so we got to chat a bit. We learned that the owner’s daughter is the pastry chef so we had to try the cheesecake. Also delicious. It was just a great dining experience.“

“I went with my sister for a trip to Lake Tahoe and I ordered a medium iced raspberry white mocha. When I tell you the first sip I took I think I almost levitated. It wasn’t overly sweet and the espresso didn’t taste burnt. The barista was also very sweet and made my day. She attended everyone with the same amount of care and attention. I would recommend visiting here and trying what I got! The shop was also very beautifully decorated.“

“I was searching for food that was not crowded, admittedly I was overwhelmed by the weekenders that flock from all over cities that were crammed in the shopping district. I spotted a church building with a small sign that said, cafe open, as I was making my way out of town with haste. Alas, I found exactly what I needed. Score, big time. It is a beautiful, tranquil space, and the sandwich I had, Ban mi (add turkey)...beyond exquisite. The lavender drink concoction was eloquent and refreshing. Go here for a zen delicious af meal and very nice service.“

“Been here several times. Staff is nice and service is mostly good but main complaint is that they can't get their reservation timing right. Out of the 5 times I've been here with reservation, 3 of those seated us at least 20 min after our reservation. I like the restaurant but please fix your reservation system. Update: Liz the manager did an amazing job at service recovery. She came and personally apologized and let us know that they are training new staff, plus they are getting another check-in ipad which will help speed up the check-in process during busy times. She offered to take some items off our bill. I'm happy to see that they take customer service seriously.“

“let me tell you something. I grew up in Sun Valley. Tahoe is part of me. My sister called the night before. They didnt take reservations. But, we told them what was up. my sisters n I planned a weeks trip for my mother's 78th birthday. We hadn't all been all together since my littlest sister was 4... 36 yrs later we are all in one place. Our mother wanted to see her friends. Basically our second set of parents growing up. We pretty much pretended we were nonchalant about it. Their daughter n us put a scheme together to surprise them all. Weeks of planning. The night staff left a note for the morning staff. They open at noon. The party of three showed up at noon... us, the party of six showed up 10 minutes fashionably late. So we could surprise n give our elderly parents arrhythmia.The staff was awesome! Table ready, James our waiter was spectacular...the food.... awesome. Not many restaurants would be asking as people came in... are you the party of 9? lol my sister from another set of parents...as her mom confused said " no we are a party of 3" and her daughter leaned back and whispered ..." yes we are the party of 9. but they don't know shhhh!" it was spectacular! Thank you to the staff... you all rock! I hope if we ever make it back and you're still are rocking the vibe we got today, we will be there. You all take care of your staff. Today this place made our moment so special. We cant say Thank you enough.“

“Had a wonderful dinner here in February. The menu was excellent with many meat and fresh fish dishes. We had the pork chop which is our absolute favorite, as well as a seafood special. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced. Great service - we appreciated not feeling rushed. Highly recommend if you are in the area.“

The Italian dishes and pizzas are flavorful, with generous portions and fresh ingredients. “A bike event on Sunday turned into a cold, rainy, windy, miserable day. We went to The Dam Cafe for hot chocolate and got so much love! The owner not only welcomed the wet, muddy riders in, she put out space heaters and wrapped us in blankets! Amazing! I was so cold and was warmed both physically and emotionally by the kindness. “Came in from KC and was looking for a quick bite to eat for breakfast. They were helpful in helping us understand the options. We went with the chorizo breakfast burrito and the biscuit and gravy. Everything was amazing, but the breakfast burrito stole the show.“

“Gourmet pizza! We love coming here whenever we are in town. Family owned business and the owner is a wonderful person. We had the pleasure to meet him 3 winters ago. I am so glad how this place gets more and more popular!!

Taste and ingredients are great. The temperature control on the pizza is on point. Price on root beer is so good! Can’t beat that.
One thing to note, it does take long time to get the pizza, if you are in a rush, you can either call ahead to order or try this place when you have time to enjoy. It took us about 45mins to get our pizza a few weeks ago.

“Last week the sun was shining all week, we decided to go skiing in Lake Tahoe since my daughter is in town. After a beautiful day skiing, we found this restaurant close to our townhouse so we had dinner here.
This place is in kinda downtown Lake Tahoe City, small parking lot, but we had parking in front due to weekday.
The restaurant is clean and the server is extremely pleasant and attentive. The menu has many of dishes that we can all enjoy. The prices are so reasonable for Tahoe.
We tried the Ahi Tower and it was so delicious, this is a must have since we finished it in a heart beat, the tuna is moist and marinated just right, we wished there're more chips with it.
My son ordered the crawfish mac'n cheese and both of my kids liked them.
I wanted to try the blacken chicken with side order of onion rings instead of fries and it's excellent, my son had half of mine.
My wife Salmon BLTA was amazingly tasty and the kids tried it and liked it too.
My daughter always liked the Cheese steak and the midtown did the trick, melted cheese steak with bread.
It's nice to try new places and we're glad we found this place. The service is great, the big portion dishes are excellent and the prices don't break the bank, what else can you ask for at a restaurant? We all voted for 5 stars.“

“The best part of this restaurant is it's environment and it's dog friendliness. We always go with Ares our JRT and you often see other dogs, on the patio. Food is good too, but I actually like my own cooking of quality meat in general.“
