“Just having a meal in this cool spot is a treat in itself. Amazingly kind customer service, a beautiful interior with a lot of personality, and yummy food! The menu is basic breakfast and lunch foods but they indeed do a great job. The french fries have a thin crunchy crust on the outside. They also asked me if I want my corned beef hash crunchy and I said YES thanks for asking. As someone who orders corned beef hash everywhere that offers it, I was so happy that this is the 1st place that asked for my preference! I will make sure to come back here every time I am in the area. The thought of this place puts a smile on my face.Parking: Parking lot but most of it is too wet and muddy. We ended up parking on the next street over.“

“My SO, the pups, and I were stoked we found Waterman's Landing next to Patton Beach. This is a cute coffee cafe/shop that serves up your favorite caffeine beverages and brunch items. The shop also has services like kayak rental, and per the barista, they're adding a motorboat service in the summer of 2024. My SO and I asked at the window in the back of the shop if we could bring our hounds in. The barista (I didn't catch her name) was super friendly and let us bring the pups in. DRINKS * Latte - good notes of espresso deliciousness * White Mocha Latte - I ordered this with their homemade almond milk, the only alternative available to dairy creamer/milk. I added some peppermint syrup to make it a peppermint white mocha. I enjoyed it because it wasn't overly sweet. The almond milk was very smooth and tasted delicious. We will return to grab a drink, even lunch, and visit during the summer to check out the kayak service. The dog-friendly beach right behind makes it so much easier with the pups.“

“Came here for a quick lunch since we were staying nearby and could walk here. There's not many options on the north shore but we weren't very hungry so opted for something simple. I ended up getting the the big kahuna chicken salad with pineapple and grilled teriyaki chicken. The salad itself was big and pretty filling. I enjoyed the canned pineapple for sweetness but the chicken was dry and the texture was similar to the already prepared chicken you can buy at grocery stores. The chicken was also too salty and the sauce was more just soy sauce than teriyaki and it wasn't sweet at all. Overall not a bad meal considering there's not a lot of eat around but I wouldn't choose to come again. We did get the local ice cream afterwards as well which was a nice treat. The banana chocolate chip was yummy and pretty light.“

“We always enjoy getting Mountain Slice whether it's for the pizza, the ice cream, or both! Make sure to call early in the day to place an order for dinner as they get very busy and sell out. Today we ordered the tie dye pizza. I am allergic to tomatoes, so I ordered it without the vodka sauce and extra pesto. Had a little miscommunication on my end about the sauce, so when we picked it up it had a tomato sauce base. We explained what we had thought we ordered and the two guys working quickly made a fresh pie. Very thankful that they were so accommodating. The pizza was delicious with pesto as the base sauce! The dough is the star of the show. We've enjoyed both the regular style and the Detroit style pizzas here. Would love if they started doing some pizzas with other base sauces! Love that they are starting to do late nights with more arcade games, late night pizza, and beer. I think that's super fun and will draw in a cool crowd. Great option since nowhere else is open late. Go get the best pizza on the West Shore!“

Coffee was good, service was also a bit slow for a coffee shop with 2 people working and 2 customers, but everybody has slow days so I wouldn’t knock them on it. “Stopped in here on a whim on a slow Spring morning with some friends to grab a late breakfast bite. Our waiter, Ovi, was very pleasing to work with and accommodated our every need. He ensured our food tasted great and that our expectations were met. Omelettes were perfect, fruit was ripe and sweet, waffle came with extra whipped cream as requested, and the burgers stood up to some of the best I've had. Onion rings were phenomenal as well. We sat outside on the patio in the crisp cool air under the shining sun, taking in the fresh Tahoe smell of pine and fallen snow. Would return here in a heartbeat!“

“We came here for lunch on one of our days in Truckee. We don't drink beer but we ordered some other drinks that were amazingly delicious. For our appy, we ordered these shrimp bao buns that were super flavorful. I ordered the bratwurst hotdog and that was yummy with a healthy helping of sauerkraut and two types of dip - cheese or grainy mustard. To be honest, that bratwurst wrapped in a pretzel bun could stand on its own without any dips...OMG! so good that u still remember how it tastes nearly a week after our trip. My husband ordered the turkey burger and that thing came loaded and he said it was one of the best turkey burgers he's ever had. We loved this place and will definitely be one of our go-tos in Truckee when we're up next! Thank you Alibi team...great work!“

I ordered the breakfast plate which was a good portion of scrambled eggs, bacon, and tater tots. My white mocha latte was delicious. Service was superb!Kid-friendliness: Very kid-friendly. We did a buyout of the wine bar for 2 1/2 hours and the space accommodated our group of approximately 50 people comfortably, offering a mix of indoor and outdoor settings that were particularly enjoyable thanks to the perfect September weather.Kathleen and Rob were great to work with from the planning stages to the execution of our event. “Here's the low-down: 1. Food - There's a lot of attention to detail here; there's fresh baked bread, there's Gumbo made daily, there's fresh fries. This is not a place that embraces canned / frozen foods. The medium rare burger I had was perfect with fresh fries and (seemed like) a freshly baked bun. My one complaint was the first cup of coffee; it tasted a little burned, but we were there late in the day. Also, I'd have rather seen a smaller menu featuring only what they do best, but that's my preference. I did not hear any complaints from anyone else while I was there. 2. Service - It was busy, and it's a coffee shop; you're not here to have a Maitre d' experience. You're going to get the friendly coffee shop vibe that borders on overly familiar. If you're not used to this, it might feel uncomfortable, but stay with it, you'll expand your horizons. 3. Ambiance - Wagon train doesn't try to be what it's not; it's a coffee shop with some fantastically crafted food. It feels like a locals-only gem despite its location in the middle of the downtown area. This is a rare gem where corners are not being cut; this kind of place is rapidly becoming a lost bit of Americana, definitely get in there and taste it while you can.“

I get to swing in to pick up my Meatless Monday's 3 course meal, and dinner is done for the night. Perfect place to go after picking up my kids from sports practice and know I've got a gluten free, locally sourced and tasty meal to feed the whole family. We were greeted warmly and received delicious recommendations for both beer and the lunch menu—spot ON were the Cali common beer and their amber. And the food…SO delicious! Dan Dan noodles are not to be missed, they have a beautiful Szechuan influence and kale, we devour every bite. They grind the meat for their burger in-house and you can taste the goodness between the havarti and arugula. Love coming here every visit!“

“We had a great meal at Stella. The food is elevated and yet the ambience is casual enough for kids. It's also very close to downtown Truckee so very convenient. We ordered the hamachi crudo (staff favorite) which was an excellent starter (with mushrooms, avocado and some additional elements i can't remember - the fish was a tiny bit fishy but the flavor and preparation made up for it), the little gems salad with sundried tomatoes and croutons, the eggplant dip with focaccia, and the sea bass entree. It was all really delicious, and just the right amount for two of us. The kids ate off the kids menu - the fish of the day (grouper) with fingerling potatoes and broccolini, and the pasta with pecorino and added chicken (an entire sous vide chicken breast!). Both were successful options. The ambience is open and bright with the big windows, but not as cozy and romantic if that's what you're looking for. Also it did take nearly two hours for our meal as the restaurant seemed a bit short staffed. We can't complain though since they were willing to move us up to a 6 pm.“

The carrot cake cookie was so moist. Coffee tastes good, service was friendly. Would come back if we’re in the area again.“

“We love visiting Crosbys when we are in North Tahoe. The food is always so good and the staff are so friendly. We missed the beautiful outdoor seating this time due to weather, but in the summer it's really nice on the patio. A big football game was on while we were there, so of course the tvs were loud. We didn't care about the game, but understood that it is a tavern and that many others did care.“

“I built my own sandwich and I felt the price was very reasonable. Everything is made to go but there is a space to eat there. There's also a water station by the place where you pick up the coffee, which I used to refill my water bottles. It's also a little grocery store which is convenient. Also the gallon of water from the grocery section was $5 and the water bottles were around 3-5 bucks each from the fridge in case you're thinking of buying water like my friends and I did.“

“Few things to keep in mind is that this place is not super visible when trying to find it near the waterfront so look for the BBQ restaurant and it'll be inside. However, you can sit outside and enjoy your drinks with a view! Service is decent and you can tell this place gets pretty busy especially during a football game day. Love that the outside is dog friendly and appreciate the turf grass and dog bowls. I can't rate this place by the food because we didn't eat here but I will say it smelled good. Parking is free but I believe 3 hour limit.“
