It is a beautiful, tranquil space, and the sandwich I had, Ban mi (add turkey)...beyond exquisite. The lavender drink concoction was eloquent and refreshing. “A bike event on Sunday turned into a cold, rainy, windy, miserable day. We went to The Dam Cafe for hot chocolate and got so much love! The owner not only welcomed the wet, muddy riders in, she put out space heaters and wrapped us in blankets! Amazing! I was so cold and was warmed both physically and emotionally by the kindness. “If you're not coming to Tahoe Taphouse for Kevin, you're missing half the experience. The guy is genuinely one of the funniest people behind a bar — always has a joke ready, always lands it, and somehow makes you feel like a regular from the first visit. He's as kind as he is hilarious, which is saying a lot.

But the Taphouse earns its keep beyond great company. Cold, delicious beer on tap, solid food, and the perfect spot to catch a game. We keep coming back and it never disappoints.

On the food side - don't sleep on the Mary's Chicken. Mary's is an incredible brand, and Tahoe Taphouse does it justice. The chicken wings especially are fantastic. Crispy, flavorful, the kind of wings you think about on the drive home.

Honestly, it's the full package: great beer, great food, games on the TV, and Kevin holding it all together. See you there.“

“We were in Truckee for the day and wanted something different. This was the perfect place! Outdoor dining was amazing balls! Comfy setting, like your own outside patio. The food was exactly what we wanted! A watermelon non alcoholic spritz was so refreshing. Not sweet but more blended fruity mix. A hot tasty sandwich, perfectly crispy sweet potato fries and that day.. a velvety French onion soup. It was a different type of bread, bunch of spices and big slice of the cheese! So much cooked onions and a broth that tasted like it was cooked for hours, to get a deep rich beef taste. Staff was so friendly and nice. Will be going back to try their pizzas and salads!“

We were seated in a beautiful spot with stunning views of the Northstar ski slopes on a bright, sunny day. The experience was elevated by sitting behind a subtle tinted glass that softened the harshness of the sun while still letting in all the light and scenery — the perfect balance. Surrounded by towering Sierra Nevada pines, the setting felt serene, cozy, and quintessentially Tahoe.

We started with a vanilla latte that was nothing short of magical — it truly felt like a warm embrace in a cup. Smooth, comforting, and crafted to perfection.

The meat burger was perfectly done — juicy, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. My son absolutely loved the chocolate and strawberry ice cream, which was a delightful treat.

We are local and eat here all of the time— 1-2 times per month over a number of years. Something has happened in the last 4-6 weeks with this place. This is the second time lately we’ve ordered the chicken tikki masala and the paneer tikki masala and the sauce was weird and gross. Super sweet like a sweet tomato soup. The Dal Mahikini tasted like chili. We ordered it medium and there was no spice to it at all. The naan was stale. We ordered samosas and they literally just threw them into the loose to go bag. They have definitely had problems with consistency in the recipes over the years but this has been the worst. We are totally bummed because this restaurant used to be our go-to when we didn’t feel like cooking.“
