I was very pleased with my pan seared salmon, but the star of our dinner was the Mushroom Madness pizza. I am quite the carnivore, but I have to say this was the best mushroom pizza I have ever had. “I want to tell you a story about my rather unique experience at this bar. I walk in just to check it out, and I'm immediately greeted by this friendly skinny bartender w glasses and a short haircut on a Sunday afternoon. I'm thinking might as well check it out, and there's a 49ers game playing, so why not. The bartender informs me of all the 49er game specials, all the better. I stay for about three hours, but I start to notice a rather interesting dynamic. This bartender dude is hustling. He's taking care of people at the bar and customers at the tables. He's promoting the specials and just generally working his butt off. Meanwhile, I notice this other bartender, a bigger proportioned blonde just standing at the end of the bar chatting away w some groucho Marx looking shoulder length perm, vaping worker ignoring all the customers. It's such a shocking contrast it takes me aback. It's a crying shame the owner or manager would accept this as normal business operations. One working nonstop hustling and promoting the business vs one worker Slacking and literally spending over 90% of her time socializing w another worker. It just seemed an injustice. The owner or manager needs to be apprised of this. Reward your hardworking workers please. It's actually embarrassing to watch other workers doing close to nothing in your establishment in stark contrast to other workers doing so much“

“Super friend staff and amazing food! Everyone was so friendly and helpful but, most importantly, the food was SO good! My husband and I both got different omelets and both were so good. We ate until we were beyond stuffed because the food was THAT good! He got a Bloody Mary that was one of the best I’ve had out here and I got a mimosa. Perfect little brunch atmosphere and set up! ❤️ You can not visit Lake Tahoe and pass this honey up!“

“Having a beer at the oldest continually operating saloon in Nevada was a must-do after a 9-mile hike in the area. The staff was super friendly, beer was frosty, and our small group was joined by a group of locals and we enjoyed a lovely and lively conversation. The history of the place is also incredible. From photos, to stories, to actually seeing Raquel Welch's bra... I mean, what could be a better way to spend a day?

Also of note, o food is served, though you're welcome to bring your own in.“

“We had a small wedding reception here on August 19. We started in the garden until rain moved in and MacDuffs quickly moved us inside and upstairs. The food and service were excellent. Our waitress was awesome and working with MacDuffs beforehand was great too. We were a party of 18 from Michigan and everyone was very complimentary! Highly recommend!!’“

“We’ve stayed at the Tahoe South location twice now and have loved it both times. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and quick to jump in if we need anything. The vibe is great in the summer and just as cozy during snowstorms. It’s so nice having an onsite coffee shop for my morning coffee and an onsite brewery to hang out at night. We’ll definitely be back!“

“What an absolutely incredible spot. I will definitely be back. We ate here twice while in the area for 3 days. We came once for dinner and once for breakfast and it was the best food we had in Tahoe-hands down! We had the crudo, fried stuffed olives and truffle fries to share as starters. I’d never had fried olives and they were so tasty. The crudo was so tender and the truffle fries were perfect. I had the braised short ribs for dinner and I don’t think I’ve ever had better (and it’s my staple that I make myself when we have company so I’m biased!!!). The food quality is exceptional. They had an incredible wine list (I can’t remember which bottles we had-but we had lots and it was amazing), but don’t miss out on the cocktails & mocktails (I had the Harriet mocktail and my husband had the Clara cocktail and they were both delicious). The ambiance is elevated and high end while remaining casual and friendly- which is a hard balance to strike. We were here in late summer/early fall but I can only imagine how cozy this place would be in the winter after a ski day. For breakfast I had the cherry apple baked oats and it was divine! The staff are all super friendly & the service was great. There was a line up to get in both times we went but it’s totally worth the wait. Don’t miss this gem!“

“Good spot for coffee and some breakfast with the huevos rancheros on point. Food may come up a bit slow but it’s because they make their own chips and not from a bag. Will be back to try the chilaquiles that look very yummy. Shades outside are a little wonky due to wind and on hot days may not cool as you would hope for but that’s fixable.“

“Will start off by saying the food was great! However the hostess was another story. Recwntly had dinner on 8/11/24. The hostess would not let us sit at the table to start ordering drinks because we were missing 2 out of the 8 people in our group. needless to say we already had 6 ready to be seated. once we were seated the table next to us had the umbrella slanted. this caused the table to fly over from a gust of wind shattering a plate and cutting my leg. the stay was kind enough to provided a wipe and some bandaid. We continued our night until the hostess decided to empty water cups from other guest into the flower bed behind us. Which then caused the dirt to splash up on one of our guest white shirts and be covered in mud. A smug sorry was replied out. As stated before the food was terrific and the wait staff was great but the hostess needs to be replaced.“

“Nice place tucked into the back of a strip mall. The server was nice and the sushi was good. We got like 5 different kinds and they were all pretty good. The one funny thing we all noted was the strange and very mellow music that was playing the whole time we were there. It was a little bizzare, but the food was good, and that's all that matters.“
