“let me tell you something. I grew up in Sun Valley. Tahoe is part of me. My sister called the night before. They didnt take reservations. But, we told them what was up. my sisters n I planned a weeks trip for my mother's 78th birthday. We hadn't all been all together since my littlest sister was 4... 36 yrs later we are all in one place. Our mother wanted to see her friends. Basically our second set of parents growing up. We pretty much pretended we were nonchalant about it. Their daughter n us put a scheme together to surprise them all. Weeks of planning. The night staff left a note for the morning staff. They open at noon. The party of three showed up at noon... us, the party of six showed up 10 minutes fashionably late. So we could surprise n give our elderly parents arrhythmia.The staff was awesome! Table ready, James our waiter was spectacular...the food.... awesome. Not many restaurants would be asking as people came in... are you the party of 9? lol my sister from another set of parents...as her mom confused said " no we are a party of 3" and her daughter leaned back and whispered ..." yes we are the party of 9. but they don't know shhhh!" it was spectacular! Thank you to the staff... you all rock! I hope if we ever make it back and you're still are rocking the vibe we got today, we will be there. You all take care of your staff. Today this place made our moment so special. We cant say Thank you enough.“

“This by far has been the most excellent restaurant I have dined at in all of Tahoe. The mushroom omelette that I had was excellent. The server was busy, but she made sure that I had everything that I needed and checked upon me frequently. The atmosphere was nice. It was breezy and outside and felt good. “What an amazing spot! Not only is the ice cream delicious. They have the most patient man working the ice cream counter. The flavors are listed ABOVE the counter so you can see while you stand in line. No charge for a topping, cute fireplace, plenty of seating. AND I went to the restroom and they had a handful of spare diapers for kiddos in need. That kind of thoughtful and caring touch is just amazing and goes a long way for a mom whose kid has been out of diapers for a long time. 😂

My kid’s review: this place is so good that I love it. Big sized ice creams, so make sure you’re sharing if you get a large. It’s super good. I’d recommend the sherbet. It’s got really good ice cream and the guy who served me is really nice.“

“A cost corner shop with a menu options ranging from ice creams, sorbets, beverages and Açaí bowl. Their huckleberry ice is a must try. Overall a good experience and flavor options.
They have outdoor seating space and is right on the street, easy accessibility and convenience if coming from the beach.“

“Gourmet pizza! We love coming here whenever we are in town. Family owned business and the owner is a wonderful person. We had the pleasure to meet him 3 winters ago. I am so glad how this place gets more and more popular!!

Taste and ingredients are great. The temperature control on the pizza is on point. Price on root beer is so good! Can’t beat that.
One thing to note, it does take long time to get the pizza, if you are in a rush, you can either call ahead to order or try this place when you have time to enjoy. It took us about 45mins to get our pizza a few weeks ago.

They have indoor and outdoor seating! How relaxing.“

“A bike event on Sunday turned into a cold, rainy, windy, miserable day. We went to The Dam Cafe for hot chocolate and got so much love! The owner not only welcomed the wet, muddy riders in, she put out space heaters and wrapped us in blankets! Amazing! I was so cold and was warmed both physically and emotionally by the kindness. The food and drink where delicious. Can’t say enough good things. A little cottage of heaven in Tahoe City!“

We also enjoyed daily morning coffees from the (gh / Cedar Sport Hotel) lobby. For a great start to each of our mornings while recently on property, we appreciated the healthy breakfast menu options at Stella (would appreciate homemade jam, though!) as well as excellent service from Jay, who provided terrific local day-hike tips with our pooch. “Couldn’t be happier with Tahoe National Brewing Company and its team, especially Daphne and Jessie. Our family of 18 had arranged ahead of time to have dinner here for my dad’s 80th birthday, but we were also hoping to surprise my dad with line dancing lessons after dinner as he’s always wanted to try it but hadn’t had the chance. Although TNBC has public line dancing events every 2nd and 4th Sunday evenings, we were only in town in between those times. They graciously worked with us to have their dance instructor Kendall available for us! She was super for our group and it was a dream come true for my dad. Very memorable. Thanks TNBC! “Great dinner and wine at Petra! It is located in the charming Northstar village, which is very active with a roller rink, different restaurants, gelato, coffee shops, and a candy shop. Petra is the cozy vibe of the village! Great wine options- I loved the Cabernet Sangiovese. Nice guy behind the bar recommended the chicken meal and it was so good- I ate every bite! The Brussels sprouts were so crispy and yum, the chicken was tender, and the hummus was delicious. Will come back for the dessert!“

“We were in Truckee for the day and wanted something different. This was the perfect place! Outdoor dining was amazing balls! Comfy setting, like your own outside patio. The food was exactly what we wanted! A watermelon non alcoholic spritz was so refreshing. Not sweet but more blended fruity mix. A hot tasty sandwich, perfectly crispy sweet potato fries and that day.. a velvety French onion soup. It was a different type of bread, bunch of spices and big slice of the cheese! So much cooked onions and a broth that tasted like it was cooked for hours, to get a deep rich beef taste. Staff was so friendly and nice. Will be going back to try their pizzas and salads!“

“The food is a little pricey, but very good! I got the pastrami sandwich. The music doesn’t match the vibe of a tap house at all. Also the service method is fast food design. You order and pay and take a number. Overall would get takeout for the food, but not enjoy in house again.“

We were seated in a beautiful spot with stunning views of the Northstar ski slopes on a bright, sunny day. The experience was elevated by sitting behind a subtle tinted glass that softened the harshness of the sun while still letting in all the light and scenery — the perfect balance. Surrounded by towering Sierra Nevada pines, the setting felt serene, cozy, and quintessentially Tahoe.

We started with a vanilla latte that was nothing short of magical — it truly felt like a warm embrace in a cup. Smooth, comforting, and crafted to perfection.

The meat burger was perfectly done — juicy, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. My son absolutely loved the chocolate and strawberry ice cream, which was a delightful treat.

Dessert was the grand finale: the salted caramel lotus with vanilla sponge cake, caramel glaze, and cacao nib streusel was an absolute masterpiece. Each bite delivered a beautiful harmony of textures, flavors & suspense; indulgent yet refined.
