“This by far has been the most excellent restaurant I have dined at in all of Tahoe. The mushroom omelette that I had was excellent. The server was busy, but she made sure that I had everything that I needed and checked upon me frequently. The atmosphere was nice. It was breezy and outside and felt good. The prices were fair.Highly recommend.“

“let me tell you something. I grew up in Sun Valley. Tahoe is part of me. My sister called the night before. They didnt take reservations. But, we told them what was up. my sisters n I planned a weeks trip for my mother's 78th birthday. We hadn't all been all together since my littlest sister was 4... 36 yrs later we are all in one place. Our mother wanted to see her friends. Basically our second set of parents growing up. We pretty much pretended we were nonchalant about it. Their daughter n us put a scheme together to surprise them all. Weeks of planning. The night staff left a note for the morning staff. They open at noon. The party of three showed up at noon... us, the party of six showed up 10 minutes fashionably late. So we could surprise n give our elderly parents arrhythmia.The staff was awesome! Table ready, James our waiter was spectacular...the food.... awesome. Not many restaurants would be asking as people came in... are you the party of 9? lol my sister from another set of parents...as her mom confused said " no we are a party of 3" and her daughter leaned back and whispered ..." yes we are the party of 9. but they don't know shhhh!" it was spectacular! Thank you to the staff... you all rock! I hope if we ever make it back and you're still are rocking the vibe we got today, we will be there. You all take care of your staff. Today this place made our moment so special. We cant say Thank you enough.“

“Katie recommended the mushrooms and snap pea/asparagus salad. We also got the burger and the pork belly Mac and cheese. Every dish was unique and flavorful and we can’t wait to be back. Beyond that, Katie provided amazing service and was so personable and kind! She is a gem and deserves a raise!“

Few people come to Tahoe for the food, but Sage Leaf made this meal feel like a destination in itself.

The burrata appetizer was beautifully composed. The citrusy yuzu jam, perfectly toasted bread, savory prosciutto, and creamy Di Stefano burrata all worked in harmony. Every component felt intentional and contributed to the dish without overwhelming the others.

We also loved the Niman Ranch pork chop. The citrus brine kept the meat remarkably tender while giving it a clean, bright flavor. Paired with creamy polenta and perfectly cooked mushrooms, it was both comforting and refined.

The house-made pasta was another highlight. It appears to change with the seasons, and this version showcased a thoughtful selection of vegetables that truly felt like “eating the season.” The combination of balsamic and pesto was unexpectedly delicious—the acidity of the balsamic brought out the richness of the Parmesan beautifully.

What stood out most was the care behind the food. This is clearly a kitchen that cooks with intention and respect for ingredients. Our server, Brandon, was excellent and made us feel that same level of thoughtfulness throughout the meal.

If I could offer one small piece of feedback, it would be that a few dishes seemed to have many ideas competing for attention. A bit more restraint and a clearer focal point might make them even more memorable.

“Really delicious! Fun choices & good variety. Holly V took excellent care of us & was so kind! We sampled several items but our favorites were the pepper crostini, the halibut, & the gumbo. Oh! The ice cream sandwiches were so good & just the right size for a sweet end to our meal. Definitely would love to come back!“

“As a European, I just had to have melted cheese after skiing, and I am very happy I found La fondue! The dishes are authentic and very tasty. We were definitely full after the Alpine fondue and a shared chocolate fondue. A wonderful place for a hearty meal!“

“The best part of this restaurant is it's environment and it's dog friendliness. We always go with Ares our JRT and you often see other dogs, on the patio. Food is good too, but I actually like my own cooking of quality meat in general.“

He immediately replaced the card on the spot and was incredibly kind and professional throughout the whole interaction.
