“let me tell you something. I grew up in Sun Valley. Tahoe is part of me. My sister called the night before. They didnt take reservations. But, we told them what was up. my sisters n I planned a weeks trip for my mother's 78th birthday. We hadn't all been all together since my littlest sister was 4... 36 yrs later we are all in one place. Our mother wanted to see her friends. Basically our second set of parents growing up. We pretty much pretended we were nonchalant about it. Their daughter n us put a scheme together to surprise them all. Weeks of planning. The night staff left a note for the morning staff. They open at noon. The party of three showed up at noon... us, the party of six showed up 10 minutes fashionably late. So we could surprise n give our elderly parents arrhythmia. The staff was awesome! Table ready, James our waiter was spectacular...the food.... awesome. Not many restaurants would be asking as people came in... are you the party of 9? lol my sister from another set of parents...as her mom confused said " no we are a party of 3" and her daughter leaned back and whispered ..." yes we are the party of 9. but they don't know shhhh!" it was spectacular! Thank you to the staff... you all rock! I hope if we ever make it back and you're still are rocking the vibe we got today, we will be there. You all take care of your staff. Today this place made our moment so special. We cant say Thank you enough.“

“Had a wonderful dinner here in February. The menu was excellent with many meat and fresh fish dishes. We had the pork chop which is our absolute favorite, as well as a seafood special. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced. Great service - we appreciated not feeling rushed. Highly recommend if you are in the area.“

“Las Panchitas is a reliable dining location in Kings Beach. The Machaca is a high-protein dish featuring shredded beef and eggs, making it an efficient choice for those targeting 185g of daily protein. The beef is prepared with minimal excess oil, which is beneficial for metabolic health.“

“My family has been eating here for decades and the food has always been consistent and delicious. Its a small stand and can get busy at times (longer waits) and occasionally it’s possible to get the fries that are at the end of fhe basket (just ask for a fresh batch if it bugs you) but it is worth the trip if you’re looking for a simple grilled burger and fries and chicken fingers.“

“I've traveled around the world and have ate at Michelin star restaurants, been served by James Beard winners near and far and from the moment I walked in my dining experience fell nothing short of top notch! I was immediately greeted with a friendly smile, my server promptly greeted me and provide exceptional service throughout the evening. The food was amazing and prepared to perfection! The ambience is amazing welcoming and comfortable. The whole dining experience from beginning to end was amazing.“

“One of the best restaurants I’ve ever experienced! The staff were amazing too!! Definitely tell all my friends that travel to Tahoe that this is a must try!!“
“Book a reservation at Sylva. I cannot recommend this place enough, it is a fantastic staff, amazing menu and beautiful place. Every dish was beautifully executed and delivered more than it promised. The palette on their chef and the flavors their menus bring cannot be missed. I will be back here every time I’m in Tahoe from now on. Trust the chefs at Sylva and the staff will take care of the rest. They do get crowded so please make that reservation ahead of time. My favorite place in Tahoe City, hands down.“

“There are places in the world that feel almost unreal, and Lake Tahoe is one of them. Tucked gently between the mountains, it carries a quiet kind of magic that you don’t fully understand until you stand there yourself. The water is so clear it feels like looking through glass, reflecting the sky in shades of deep blue and soft silver. It’s the kind of beauty that doesn’t need to try—it simply exists, effortlessly breathtaking.
In the early morning, Tahoe feels peaceful and untouched. The air is crisp, the world is still, and the only sound is the gentle movement of the water meeting the shore. It’s in these moments that you feel something shift inside you, like the noise of everyday life fades away, replaced by calm and clarity. Nature doesn’t rush here, and somehow it reminds you that you don’t have to either.
As the day unfolds, sunlight dances across the lake, and the surrounding pine trees stand tall and steady, as if they’ve been quietly protecting this place for centuries. Whether you’re walking along the shoreline, sitting quietly watching the waves, or laughing with people you love, Tahoe has a way of making every moment feel meaningful. It’s not just a destination—it’s a feeling, a gentle reminder of how beautiful life can be when you slow down and truly take it in.
And then there’s the evening. The sky begins to change, painted in soft hues of pink, orange, and gold, reflecting perfectly on the lake’s surface. It feels almost like time pauses, giving you a chance to breathe a little deeper and hold onto the moment just a little longer. As the sun disappears behind the mountains, Tahoe becomes something even more special—quiet, intimate, and deeply comforting.
Lake Tahoe isn’t just a place you visit. It’s a place that stays with you. Long after you leave, you carry a piece of its calm, its beauty, and its quiet healing within you. It reminds you that sometimes, the most wonderful things in life are the simplest—nature, peace, and the people you share it with.“

“A charming local institution, where we have been eating for years, retains its excellent food, creative menu, and wonderful service. Their wine list is particularly notable both for the choices and for the prices, which are extremely reasonable.“

“Beautiful lakeside location with a nice big dog friendly patio, good draft beers brewed on-site and good pizza. The deep-dish pizza tasted better than it looked. We almost sent it back because the top and crust were pretty blackened, but I hate sending food back, so we persevered and it was better than expected. Not great, but not bad. It was $38 for a borderline burnt/mediocre medium pizza with 6 slices. My boyfriend and I each had 2 slices and 2 beers and were full. The pizza made for good leftovers as well. I enjoyed the two different draft beers I had; the amber type lager (can't recall the name) and a seasonal beer. The service in the bar area high tops was ok. Water is self-serve. They are on par with other local breweries and were very nice but nothing outstanding. Overall, a cool new-ish spot for a beer and an excellent view.“

“The best part of this restaurant is it's environment and it's dog friendliness. We always go with Ares our JRT and you often see other dogs, on the patio. Food is good too, but I actually like my own cooking of quality meat in general.“

“Last week the sun was shining all week, we decided to go skiing in Lake Tahoe since my daughter is in town. After a beautiful day skiing, we found this restaurant close to our townhouse so we had dinner here.
This place is in kinda downtown Lake Tahoe City, small parking lot, but we had parking in front due to weekday.
The restaurant is clean and the server is extremely pleasant and attentive. The menu has many of dishes that we can all enjoy. The prices are so reasonable for Tahoe.
We tried the Ahi Tower and it was so delicious, this is a must have since we finished it in a heart beat, the tuna is moist and marinated just right, we wished there're more chips with it.
My son ordered the crawfish mac'n cheese and both of my kids liked them.
I wanted to try the blacken chicken with side order of onion rings instead of fries and it's excellent, my son had half of mine.
My wife Salmon BLTA was amazingly tasty and the kids tried it and liked it too.
My daughter always liked the Cheese steak and the midtown did the trick, melted cheese steak with bread.
It's nice to try new places and we're glad we found this place. The service is great, the big portion dishes are excellent and the prices don't break the bank, what else can you ask for at a restaurant? We all voted for 5 stars.“

“We ordered (1) eggs (over medium) and bacon, potatoes, sourdough toast and (2) build your own omelette with mushrooms, pepper jack, spinach and onions,, fresh fruit (which was excellent) sourdough toast. Service was excellent and fast. The food was good although the over medium eggs could have been cooked a bit more. We'll definitely come back.“

“This is a good place to stop and have lunch during your Northstar ski experience. However, I can't give it five stars because the prices are at least double the normal cost. That applies to everything sold here. Options for vegan or vegetarian guests are very limited. All that aside, it's a nice ski lodge, and the food is fine if you like burgers, fries, pizza, chicken tenders, etc. Lines are usually short, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It is clean and tidy.“

“We ordered two cauliflower crust pizzas and a salad for pick up. The cauliflower crust was not an option on the online menu so submitted the order verbally via phone. I figured the cauliflower crust would cost more but I almost fell over when picked up the pizza and told it was $71! Really not sure why I didn't just walk out and tell them to stick the pizza. At this crazy price, I expected an exceptional pizza however, it was anything but. First of all, it was NOT cauliflower pizza crust! Second, it was cold and the crust was hard, with very little sauce. Extremely disappointing.... pass on this overpriced garbage!“
“We were in Truckee for the day and wanted something different. This was the perfect place! Outdoor dining was amazing balls! Comfy setting, like your own outside patio. The food was exactly what we wanted! A watermelon non alcoholic spritz was so refreshing. Not sweet but more blended fruity mix. A hot tasty sandwich, perfectly crispy sweet potato fries and that day.. a velvety French onion soup. It was a different type of bread, bunch of spices and big slice of the cheese! So much cooked onions and a broth that tasted like it was cooked for hours, to get a deep rich beef taste. Staff was so friendly and nice. Will be going back to try their pizzas and salads!“

“Food tasted good, service was nice, price was pretty high, as you'd expect being right off the coast of Tahoe, with one of the major highways leading to Tahoe nearby.
Decent place to chill and relax if you're hanging around the nearby beaches, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here.
There were bathrooms for customers.
There's parking not too far from here. Didn't notice a dedicated lot.“

“Stopped by Cutthroat's Saloon for an after dinner drink and some dessert to bring back to the room. This establishment is located within the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe, so it makes for a very convenient spot to pick up food if you're staying at the hotel. The restaurant is due a refresh, but I will say that our carmel fudge sundae tonight was out of this world!“

“Decent Mexican food in the Northstar Village. When you’re looking for Mexican food this is a far better option than the rarely-open spot on the deck at Big Springs. And great Happy Hour (3:00pm-5:00pm)!
