“Never had empanadas and Empanash didn’t let me down! I ordered on Door Dash and picked up. I got the Namaste (eggplant, delicious), the Spicy Henhouse (delicious and incredibly spicy), the All Beef’d Up (good flavor, a little too much beef for me), and the Cinnamon Roll Churro (this was way better than expected - I would come back here just for this). Ordered to go, ate at the beach and watched the sunset over the mountains, what more could you want. Only complaint, I asked for Chimichurri for the my sauce and got what was almost a salsa dip. It was good, but probably would have been elevated with the churri.

“6 of us had a superb meal. The server was attentive, but forgot to mention the rolls had powdered garlic after I had told him I had a intolerance of Powdered and dried garlic.. I ordered the Lobster ravioli, which was an appetizer, for my dinner and a dinner sized portion was served. It was delicious and I devoured the whole dinner. Will come again when we are in the are.“

“We had a small wedding reception here on August 19. We started in the garden until rain moved in and MacDuffs quickly moved us inside and upstairs. The food and service were excellent. “This a great place for hearty breakfast. We went two times during our weeks stay in the Tahoe area. The service wad friendly and efficient. It is conveniently located, with plenty of parking. We were in and out within an hour and ready for a day of adventures.“

“The 5-star reviews set high expectations. You can view this place two ways: lean into the nostalgic charm of a unique, seemingly authentic, cash-only hole-in-the-wall and call it 5 stars, or take a more objective view, which lands closer to 4.

The overgrown trailer counter service setting feels genuinely authentic, and the menu is extensive. Service is quick if it’s empty, but expect a wait when it’s busy. I ordered the marinated beef burrito: decent portion, overall good, but fairly bland with pretty dry meat. I ended up relying on multiple rounds of tomatillo hot sauce (also not vary flavorful) to boost the flavor. Orange oil eventually starts dripping out of the tortilla, which I couldn’t decide was a positive badge of authenticity or unneeded lubricant for a later trip to the toilet.

At around $10 in South Tahoe, it’s satisfying and a decent value, and I’d come back (likely try other menu items.) But it’s not a 5-star spot unless you’re heavily weighting the family-run, trailer-based charm over the food itself. If “authentic” to you means mild flavor and oil dripping, it fits. Otherwise, go in with tempered tastebud expectations and you'll definitely enjoy it. Solid 4 stars.“

“Good food ain't fast food, so if you come in/call in during a really busy time, please note there could be a little more of a wait than normal. (They also get a lot of phone orders). Sometimes there might be also circumstances out of their control. And we are all human after all...
Enjoy one of the few Chinese places left in this town before it's all gone! After older generation is gone, probably there'll be no more real Chinese food, probably i think within the next decade or two. Appreciate what you have now.

“The food was absolutely delicious. We ate the Burrata, Rack of Lamb, and Short Rib, everything complimented each other very well. The meats were cooked perfectly. I genuinely think this is the best meal I've had in a long time. The ambiance is perfect for couple looking for a quiet date night in Tahoe. I think my only critique is that there should be 3 pieces of lamb in that dish instead of 2. A perfect evening to eat a delicious meal and spot a bear strolling down the street after dinner.“

Their team had fantastic communication throughout the planning process (shout out to Andreas), showing up right on time to handle the entire setup. “We stopped at Super Tacos for a quick bite before heading to the Gondola. We each got 2 carne asada tacos and they were really good. I liked that they use 2 tortillas and cook the outer one a little more so the taco doesn’t fall apart—smart move.

I added guac to mine which was tasty, but the real winner was the green chili salsa… wow, so good and full of flavor. Service was fine, nothing amazing, but it’s an outdoor-only spot so it’s all about the food anyway.

I’d definitely come back and try a burrito next time.“

“Will start off by saying the food was great! However the hostess was another story. Recwntly had dinner on 8/11/24. The hostess would not let us sit at the table to start ordering drinks because we were missing 2 out of the 8 people in our group. needless to say we already had 6 ready to be seated. once we were seated the table next to us had the umbrella slanted. this caused the table to fly over from a gust of wind shattering a plate and cutting my leg. the stay was kind enough to provided a wipe and some bandaid. We continued our night until the hostess decided to empty water cups from other guest into the flower bed behind us. Which then caused the dirt to splash up on one of our guest white shirts and be covered in mud. A smug sorry was replied out. As stated before the food was terrific and the wait staff was great but the hostess needs to be replaced.“

“Outdoor seating with a fire pit. The evil shaker pint glasses are used for draught, otherwise it's five stars. My go to spot on the lake side of the Kingsbury Grade. Much love for the bartenders. I have to give the five just for the locals and the outstanding staff.“

“The Oyster Bar is definitely a must if you are in South Lake Tahoe. They offer a half or full dozen oysters. The oyster shooters are also a double shot. They are open late so perfect when wanting to get a late night bite or a break from the scene. Always a treat whenever we are in Tahoe! You won’t be disappointed.

This place did not disappoint, this time we ordered the jambalaya, dozen oysters, oyster bloody mary shooters & bouillabaisse! All so delicious, & they are open late until 11 pm! Definitely worth your time and 💰“
