Asada tacos were very yummy and spicy burrito is actually super spicy! Friendly staff! When it’s a small cash only you know it’s gonna be good!!
Tacos are delicious. I ordered chicken and cabeza both were great, chicken one was full of flavor. Definitely recommend this place and will definitely return if I am back in so lake Tahoe. It is a small business, very nice people.

Taquería Jimenez is a charming, family-run Mexican restaurant located in South Lake Tahoe, known for its authentic atmosphere and extensive menu. This cash-only taqueria offers a variety of meals, including the popular chorizo super burrito and moist grilled chicken tacos, both praised for their delicious flavors. While some dishes like the marinated beef burrito may be seen as bland or slightly oily, they are still considered decent value for the price, typically around $10.
The restaurant's service is generally quick, especially during slower hours, though busy times may lead to a wait. Guests appreciate the clean dining area and restrooms, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. The nostalgic charm of this hole-in-the-wall spot, combined with fresh ingredients and generous portions, creates a satisfying dining experience. Many visitors recommend taking food to go and enjoying it by the nearby Lakeside beach. Overall, Taquería Jimenez is a solid choice for those looking for affordable, tasty Mexican food in a casual setting.
