“Our first visit to Maggie's did not disappoint! Tiniest restaurant ever - reserve a table for sure, both the apple caramel French toast and the short rib eggs Benedict were delicious. While decadent for sure, this is nort a place that serves you giant plates of food, so you still feel wonderful when you're finished eating. We'r wil definitely go back for an evening meal!”

“Quaint authenic Italian resturant with impeccable service. Large selection on menu and impressive wine presentation. Great for getting away from the fast pace dining settings and be good to yourself .”

“This review is strictly atmosphere and drinks only. We did not get to try the food.Blonde beer was home brewed and refreshing. Highly recommend. We also had a stout beer which wasn't too thick and had a great taste.Lemonade was delicious and they had easy access to water and ice at the bar self service.Their outdoor area had nice seating around a fire. There were sun shades in various areas. They had a ping pong table, plastic ace throwing and cornhole. Recommend for a nice spot.”

“Amazing food overall! We loved it so much that we visited it on all the days of our stay there. Cost is a bit on the pricey side, but the quantity and the quality make up for it.”

“I came to Reno to visit my mom and we went to Sprouts for lunch as we toured around Lake Tahoe. The food is fresh and the prices are reasonable considering inflation. Excellent portions. Great experience overall!”

“Simple rotisserie and taco+burrito counter with really high quality food. The ingredients are top notch. They have chicken and tri tip on the rotisserie. Also fish and plenty of veggie, vegan, gluten free options. We got fish tacos, a tri tip burrito and a salad, it all came in about three minutes. Relaxed atmosphere with a few outdoor tables. This is going to be one of the local favorites very quickly.”

“Stopped with the family for a quick bite after hiking Mount Tallac. All the food was SO good! Got burgers, tacos, fries, and milkshakes and everything hit the spot. Would absolutely come again.Vegetarian options: Veggie burger got high praise!”

“Outstanding group of brewed in house beers. 4 oz samples $3@Daily specials on food. Should have tried the Aussie Beef pie $15 Wednesdays. Snack size brat for $9 hit the spot tho. Favorite beer the White Ale!”

“The food was amazing ordered a chicken sandwich and a pulled pork sandwich. The meat was so tender and juicy. Not to mention the flavor was on point! The service was friendly! Killer little spot for a quick effortless bite.”

“This is a solid place for BBQ! First of all, I was amazed by the chile verde soup, it is almost as thick as a dip with pulled pork. It is definitely comforting. Next, I was amazed by the sauce. It has unique flavor and aroma, some are fruity and some are spicy but not too crazy spicy. You can try them all. Lastly, the BBQ meat, it is grilled to the point what the fat is dripped away. So the meat is very enjoyable, not too greasy. It is almost on the drier side but still somewhat juicy. We also tried the bread pudding. The smokey flavor of salted caramel is definitely there. I wish they can add more experience to the pudding by some nuts or fruit to balance its heaviness. In any event, it is a good place to enjoy dinner here.”

“Hands down the best bakery in town! They have yummy fresh pastries and baked goods! They also serve the best locally roasted organic coffee! The deco is super cute and welcoming, shabby chic meets tahoe vibe. Very friendly folks! Highly recommend!”

“Been here a few times for lunch while visiting the in-laws' timeshare. They have hands down the BEST made to order deli sandwiches and wraps in the Tahoe area, along with an impressive selection of cheeses and craft beers (and coffee made to order). Come for lunch (they have a few tables here, or get it to go), and do some shopping in the cute little gift shop along the way! They have an impressive selection of kitchen wares and candles, dish towels, sauces & toppings also, etc.Not much in the way of service - mostly self serve, but that's fine.”

“Super cool location, setting and seating spaces. Greeted and treated very graciously, given choice of available seating, had amazing view from large high top for just 2 of us. Also given tastings of a few different Champagnes & Red Wines before selecting. Jacquard Champagne and Louis Martini Cab by the Glass were both very good, Jacquard is excellent IMO.We had a Beet & Berry Salad which really delicious and prepared with fresh quality ingredients. We thought the cost(s) was very reasonable for the overall experience.Thank youThe NielsensVegetarian options: Good choices availableParking: Super easy and right in front”

“We went in a bit early in the morning so there was no wait time but the place filled up pretty quickly. They have a good variety of menu and we went in as a big group so did get to try many dishes! Most of the dishes we ordered were really good - chilaquiles, egg Benedict, chicken sandwich and pancakes were all really tasty. Quality and taste of food was good!”

“I really enjoyed Cold Water Brewery and Grill. We got the fried Fish (3 piece) with Tater Tots and split it between 2 people. And we tried their IPA and their Stout that they brew in-house. Both were fantastic. I will definitely go back the best time I’m in Tahoe!”

“We heard about this place and decided last minute to try and were not disappointed. It’s off the beaten path just a bit, it looks a bit out of place amongst everything else, but do not let this fool you. At 7pm the parking lot was full and there were people waiting outside. There is nothing fancy about this place, it’s a bit older with some parts that need attention but I think it adds to the ambiance. There are big shadow boxes on the walls with different kilts which was fascinating and velvet curtains. It has a Swiss, Scottish vibe that we loved. You are met by a hostess taking your name then someone will come and ask if you want something to drink, they don’t ask you to cash out there, they ask you later at the table what you brought to the table, I loved this. We were seated quickly and we’re in awe of the food being served around us. It smells wonderful inside. We decided on Cottage Pie and Stew and it was delicious, the stew comes in a bread bowl, and it’s spilling over. The portions are big so don’t expect to finish. We saved room for dessert and there is only one; bread pudding, I had no idea what it was but it looked fantastic. So glad we tried because it was fantastic, two large scoops of ice cream turn into a sauce in this bread and it’s mouthwatering. I am certain we are going back before our trip is over.”

“Great taps. Light on the to go options. Beautiful spot to chill. Picnic tables & scattered shade beneath pines. Couple food trucks that looked like they post up regularly. One hot dog & the other pizza.”
“Great pizza , loved the calamari also …. Everything was great . Definitely will go again when we’re in town! Great service ? update: it’s a must stop every year we go to Tahoe and it never disappoints. Indoor and outdoor dining ?”

“I go here at least once a month - everything about this place is incredible. Service is great, food is authentic and delicious, and the beer menu is vast. Parking can be a little tight, so be sure to get here early whenever possible.”
Options
“Surprisingly really good. Fresh fish and well seasoned dishes. Service is excellent. If you have been to a Roys this is very similar atmosphere. If you like a Hawaiian style restaurant with a focus on fish this might be the better of all the spots in Tahoe for this option.”

“My favorite coffee spot on the lake!! Emily is a gem and you can see she really cares. You won’t go wrong with the chai but my personal favorite is the iced vanilla latte ??Kid-friendliness: They live the kiddos here”
Options
“Our party came in on a Saturday night with no reservations and we were seated immediately. That was a plus. Service was superb. Unfortunately some of the food left more to be desired. The calamari was very rubbery (not sure if that means it was overcooked or not). I had the spaghetti and meatballs and thought the meatballs tasted great. The sauce was very good as well. My wife had the chicken picatta and the chicken was overcooked. The others in our party enjoyed their garlic bread and meals.”

“This was a warm stop for lunch on our way back home from Tahoe. I found this place while roaming around on Heavenly village. The food is fresh and mouth-watering.We got onions rings and inferno burger with a side of sweet potato tater tots.My mom and I loved the onion rings. They were hot, just what we needed after spending hrs in the cold outside ?.For the inferno burger, I switched it up with chicken breast. The sweet and spicy flavors along with the cheesey chicken patty was really goooddd!!! Also loved the side of sweet potato tots :)We couldn’t finish all of it, so packed some tots and enjoyed on our drive back home as well.Would definitely recommend this place.”

“The folks here are so chill, amazing vibes <333 the owner Sumo literally exudes joy, you’ll get a serotonin boost just sitting in the cafe. Looking forward to coming back”

“It's a shame the best pasta ever is so far from my home! Definitely worth the stop. Reasonably priced for the quality. Service was a bit... Awkward? That's the best word for it. But worth enduring for the most perfectly cooked beautiful tasting pasta. I ordered the 3 cheese and my husband had the tomato basil. The 3 cheese is very reminiscent of Mac n cheese from scratch- lots of cracked black pepper on top. The tomato basil was totally full of flavor. So happy we stopped in!”
Options
“Honestly one of the best burgers, top 3 I've ever had.Fresh and perfect amount of fresh vegetables and avocado. The fries and onion rings were perfection! Not oily and perfectly cooked served so hot you had to be careful. So good, we ate the next meal there the following day.The service is really friendly and fast. The prices are shockingly reasonable as well! This will be a regular stop every time we're in South shore or remotely close.Just go there!!”

“Always love the food at this place. As someone who is allergic to nightshade vegetables I've never experienced cross contamination when ordering gringos carnitas or burritos! Way better meal than Taco Bell.”

“What a cool spot in South Lake Tahoe to relax, grab a drink and have some fun with friends and family. It's a great place for a first date, as you can fun together playing against companion in mini golf, corn hole, and shuffle golf or whatever it's called. Staff was super friendly, even the former staffer who just can't get enough of the place. Only downer is they refuse money. Yup your legal American currency is worthless to them which is kind of stupid and should/might not be legal, but I'm not reviewing the decisions of upper management, so the place is pretty cool in a nutshell”

“My husband is from Mexico ?? “so we appreciated the flavor authenticity in every detail!!! From the beverages, salsa, and cheese it all has a homemade taste!!!”

“Wow wow wow!! We opted to celebrate our anniversary at Jimmy's and put in a reservation stating what we were celebrating. When we arrived we were seated at the most perfect table with a glass door open to the Lake Tahoe and the amazing sunset. We were very well taken care of with wine, excellent food and a beautiful dessert complete with Happy Anniversary in chocolate. We were completely blown away!!!! Everything was excellent from the service to the food. Thank you Jimmy's for making our anniversary celebration one we'll never forget!”

“Fun Tapas style lounge bar. Wide variety of hot plates at a great price. Had deviled eggs, spinach salad, seafood risotto, filet mignon, and lamb chop. Salad was underdressed IMO, all other dishes delicious. Heard from others the pork fanny and buffalo tofu are amazing as well.”

“When visiting South shore, this is my go-to place with my spouse and family. After a long day, it's a nice place to lounge by a fire pit with a good drink. Pros: -Great tasting cocktails- some of the best in the area!-Amazing ambiance outside, especially when music is going -Always good conversation with guests -Location is great: you don't get the heavenly village crowds -always available parking in the lot Cons:-Expensive! One cocktail costs $15 + tip-The bartenders have the worse attitude I have ever seen at a bar. I've been here 20+ times, and not once have the bartenders been friendly, let alone social. A couple of times I've even heard them complaining of customers and how slow it was (= not making any money), even though I'm standing right in front of them at the bar. Extremely unprofessional and I only come back for the music and they do make a good drink, but can you be nice and smile to guests? Wouldn't hurt.”

“Our waiter was very efficient, friendly and fun to talk to and service was above and beyond. He came around every few minutes to see if we needed anything. We couldnt have asked for a better place to eat at being that we ha e spent a lot of time thru the years in South Lake Tahoe. We had a great view of the lake sitting by the window enjoying the view and nature. I'll definitely go back again.Parking: The Jambalaya was very good along with the hummus and ahi tacos and great drinks. My favorite was the peanut butter whiskey mixed with hot chocolate and baileys...yummy”

“We live in the area and can't believe this is our first time to have dinner here. The food was amazing and presentation was beautiful. We started with the crab legs as well as a wonderful spin on a Caprese salad. For dinner we the duck and steak/frites. Everything was amazing!”

“Great thai place after a good day of skiing. Great location right off the california lodge. This place values their food flavor as well as pleasantly surprising portions of food. The spice balance is very well executed. Prices are fair for South Lake Tahoe! Thanks guys…”

“We decided to find a new place to eat. Driving 2 hours to get to this place and reading the reviews made it a good idea. Looking at their menus (there was four listed) we thought why not??? Right???Getting into the place from the front of the shopping village is impossible. You have to go through the hotel. Later on we saw another way in. You just have to investigate a bit more to find itm$31 dollars a person after 3 PM is a bit much. The entire Mongolian style set up is very tiny. Not much of a choice of venue. But if you are ingenuous you can invent amazing plates. You first start at a very tiny salad bar. TINY!!! Seriously. The dressing is very sparse if almost impossible to find. You just have to add things to the salad from the ingredients supplied for your Mongolian bbc.Now you proceed to hand sanitize your one hand that you are going to use and put on a clear plastic glove. That being done you take a small silver bowl and start in the pasta area. The meat/seafood goes on last. You take tiny cups of sauces to the counter with you bowl to the grill. Yep. Do not put your choices of sauce in the bowl. The cook will pour your choice of sauces on your finish product. If you want cheese ask the cook. I didn't actually realized that until my third time up. You must ask for tortilla shells if you decide to make fajitas. The liquor drinks are worth the effort to see straight later. My margarita was very tasty. I would have liked more salt around the glass rim but in all.....delicious outcome of the meal.We were happy enough to pay the 15% tip on a $175.00 bill. Yes, you read it right. Adding drinks...just two mind you...”

“Stumbled on this place after just driving 5hrs to get to south tahoe. I ordered the rozzi ricotta. It was the BEST white pizza (what we call it back home in NY) I've ever had. Had to get one for the road at the end of my trip.”

“Very authentic great Indian food!! We ordered chole bhature , malai kofta and naan butter and onion. Food was very fresh and tasted great. Rajat was our server and very patient. “Yesss, biscuits and gravy were amazing, really wanted to try a crepe but I can’t have all the sugar for breakfast. Really hope I can make it back to the area to try them. Husband had the pancakes and they were great.”

“This has to be the best restaurant in South Lake Tahoe. I had eaten here 8 or 10 years ago with my wife and it was great then and also great this time. I had a salmon special with stuffed lobster and it was wonderful. The service was suburb. Do not miss eating here. I have been to Tahoe many times and usually stay at one of the hotels and eat their food but Evan's was exceptional.”

“If you're in South Lake Tahoe and want to get a phenomenal, locally roasted cup of Java, Justin and crew do it right. Their roasts are superior to corporate chains that intensely over roast and pride themselves on their burnt "signature roast" coffee.. swing by for a most tasty cup.”

“We saw this place down the street from our timeshare & were eager to try it out. The guys working there are very friendly & want to make sure you are satisfied. We bought their blood orange blond which was lite & crisp with the perfect amount of blood orange in it. We tried their Oktobrefest & found it to be a bit too hoppy for us, but they nevertheless have something for everyone. We were hoping to try their Mexican logger, but they were out. We will definitely return next time to try more & drink there as we got some cans to go this time. Yes, it is a little more than what you would get at Safeway, like any other microbrewery, but well worth it. So, for wonderful locally crafted beer at reasonable prices with friendly service, South Lake Brewing cannot be beat. Keep up the good work guys.”

“Awesome spot for sushi, can’t believe I’ve lived here 2 years and this was my first time last night. The sumitomo salad I ordered was accidentally sweet instead acidic, I told the waitress and they thanked me for calling it out so they could stop serving it to other customers. I felt appreciated.”

“Lake Tahoe cakes is FANTASTIC. I cannot recommend them enough. They were extremely responsive, professional, and helpful. We didn’t have a tasting beforehand for our wedding cake, but we knew it would be perfect. The cake was absolutely beautiful, and tasted even better than we could have imagined. My brother, who never eats/likes desserts, had a full slice of cake and raved about it. The cake was reasonably priced and could not have been more perfect. Highly recommend!!”

“Best pizza in Tahoe for sure. Possibly the best pizza I've ever had. That could be the fact I'm only lucky enough to have it every couple of years though.”
Options
“I simply love their food. I always get fantastic customer service there. The place is always clean and the employees are always helpful. I highly recommend this place.”

“My wedding cake turned out great! The baker was easy to work with. She let me pick a flavor for each layer since I had requests from both chocolate and vanilla lovers.”

“I have driven past Ernie’s for countless years, but never stopped by! It always looked very lovely from the outside, and I’m not sure why we never stopped. We’re so glad we finally tried it. It did not disappoint! Very yummy and satisfying vegetable scramble! I will return!”

“Take out window located inside of a liquor store. Lots of clearly labeled vegetarian and vegan options. They weren't offering their combo option (I'm assuming because I showed up right when they opened). If you ask for low spice be aware that means no spice. Food itself was decent and came in large portions.Vegetarian options: Clearly labeled vegetarian and vegan options.”

“Went just after midnight on the morning of 8/28 and the staff was amazing. The restaurant SO CLEAN I honestly haven’t been to a better Taco Bell, you guys should give these people raises. 10/10.”

“This Taco Bell on Emerald Bay Rd is way better than the one on 50 nearer Stateline. The staff here have always been very friendly and their food has always been great! They're very helpful with menu choices and even if I'm closer to the other one, I come here instead. Please tell whoever makes the menus, keep Enchiritos ALL THE TIME!! (And tostadas too).”

“Loved gelato. We had several people & got to try a bunch of flavors. Everything is good. Only thing that brought down the experience was the smell on the back patio seating area.”
“Was in here one day by myself and had a Guiness. Bartender didn't even pour it. Not sure why and didn't think to ask. But no worries. Good thing I worked in the industry prior to coming here and poured my own drink. Had the Cajun fries. Pretty darn good. I'll be adding another review cause I'm in here tonight getting the classic bacon and cheese burger with an order of . . you guessed it, the Cajun fries.”
“What a great hotdog food truck. Best dogs we’ve had. They were at the fall festival in Gardnerville this past weekend and I’ve just got to say wow!! The people are awesome the food is great and they exude a great food truck experience.”

“Best Mexican bakery in town, we always stop here and stock up on our favorite sweet bread... so delicious, always freshly made daily!! Owner and workers are always friendly!!!”
“Great coffe, very smooth. Tasty set of special drinks too, both chai and coffee. We tried a few different items from the menu, and they were are all great, e.g. dirty chai, honey lavender latte, Americano. Owner takes pride in his work, and it definitely shows.”
Options
“Service was fast and portions were impressive for the price! Lo mein was phenomenal, definitely hit the spot. Coconut Shrimp was a little too crunchy/crispy due to the sauce only being poured on top when ordered, but still super tasty! Also got the Kung Pao Chicken and Mushroom Chicken which were very tasty. I would recommend this place to anyone thinking about trying it. If I find myself in the area again, I will definitely end up coming back here.”
Options
“Conveniently located near Emerald Bay State Park this hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant offers mediocre but sizable burritos. I do not recommend the veggie burrito (veggies are just lettuce, guacamole, and onion). The asada had a nice char flavor.Vegetarian options: A few vegetarian options typical of Mexican restaurants”
Options
“We had the Bacon Cheese Burger, Mexicano Dog and chips. They were all delicious! The burger was fresh and tasted just right with a substantial beef patty. They stand by their statement of being tasty, quick and cheap. We got to their location by 8 and it was just takeaway at that time of the night..”

“Im a s***** for Almond Croissants. They had it, I tried it, but nothing like what I had in Paris or Monterey. But this place doesnt claim its french bakery, so if I think of it as American bakery then it was great. It was fresh, just not what I was used to.”

New Restaurants in South Lake Tahoe“Food was great, service was friendly and very helpful with suggestion. I had Chile Verde plate and the sauce was outstanding. My partner had the Chile Relleno, which was excellent. Acces and parking were restricted due to construction in and around the location.”
“A large group reserved 2 tables on the 2nd floor for dinner. There Appleseed to be outdoor seating available on the 2nd floor, weather permitting. The food was fantastic, as was the service. Even with a large group on a floor separated from the other guests, we were well attended to. The staff put forth great effort to take a group photo for us, too. The first floor had more of a bar-like setting. The ambiance was a little ‘cold,’ like a sports bar, which I think is the idea, but I think it could use some homey touches to give more of a Tahoe feel. Overall our experience was very good. ?”
“I am a doorsasher. I did not try any of the food at this time. I did get a latte. It was a great balance of sweet to coffee ratio. As I walked in, I was greeted with a smile. The service was fast and friendly. I will be going back in my off time.”

“stopped in this morning to get a breakfast sandwich, have seen this place pop up recently and decided to give it a go since it's close to work. Friendly and quick service, the space is clean and inviting, and it seems to be the most affordable bagel sandwich in town too! Definitely hit the spot. Hit them up asap before ski season traffic has them slammed!”
“Had three different sandwiches. I recommend tuna salad ( better than most tuna sandwiches and restaurants ). Bread was awesome. Bread was excellent and the pickles were tasty. Try the house sauce. Clam soup in bowl was the bomb”

“The caesar salad left a little to be desired. It was over dressed, and somewhat soggy. The addition of the anchovies were generous, at no additional cost. The lasagna was fabulous!

“I was in Tahoe for a convention and we were on our own for dinner. I looked in all my apps and was assured via ratings that this place was worth the walk. After a long day of standing, I changed my shoes and walked over. It was around some shops, so I was happy to walk through those to work up my appetite. Lots of cute stores around with tourist mementos. The place itself is small, a couple of tables outside, I honestly don't remember if there were ones inside. There is some construction going on so the outside around feels very closed in, but it is covered which is nice. I decided to just get it togo and go back to my hotel. You go up to the counter to order kinda subway or chipotle style. Do you want a bowl or a burrito? What type of rice, which protein, what do you want to add? They have recipes of things that they know work well together or you can create your own. I went with a tuna bowl with brown rice. Normally I add all kinds of things but I kept it simple this time and it was very good. I did like the Hawaii sauce, it went well with the brown rice which I had to get because I am trying to be healthier. The person making the bowl is very helpful. She made suggestions, answered questions, was very friendly. She seemed to be up front on her own even when more people came in, she handled the additional customers in stride and was helpful to everyone. I hoofed it back to my room and opened my much anticipated bowl. It did not disappoint. The food was so fresh and the flavors went well together. I would definitely go back. Highly recommend.”

“My wedding cake from this past weekend was amazing and made exactly how I requested. Unfortunately my photographer has the photos of the cake so I will upload soon. Sarah was amazing to work with and executed my idea into a beautiful cake. I highly recommend Flour Girl Wedding Cake for any occasion!!”

“The caesar salad left a little to be desired. It was over dressed, and somewhat soggy. The addition of the anchovies were generous, at no additional cost. The lasagna was fabulous! A very generous serving, presented piping hot, as I like it! There was enough to take home and make a second meal. My friend had the petrale sole special and mentioned that it was very good.”
