“This is a hidden gem in SLT. Went in with seven of us for my grandson's birthday. Four adults, three boys. We all ordered an entree, had two appetizers and shared family style. Each one was fresh, hot and delicious! Everyone loved everything and said where has this place been? Two different soups, Egg Rolls, Kung Pao, Shrimp, Orange Chicken, Rice, Chow Mein, Beef Ribs, etc! We still had a lot of leftovers. Susie was so attentive and even brought my grandson a banana dessert with whipped cream and a candle for his birthday! Certainly not fancy inside but the welcome, service and food make up for it.“

The main area for improvement here is the cook is slow and so some dishes are unavailable, and I would wager the staff don’t shell out huge portions also because the cook is slow. “Came here because we were in the mood for affordable Chinese food in the Lake Tahoe area and they did NOT disappoint!! The portions were perfect for sharing and the food came out so quick and it was hot! We absolutely love Hunan Garden. The service was amazing, they let you eat and peace and check in you actually need it (none of that checking 20x nonsense). The restaurant just gives of the homey feeling and you can just see that they prioritize good quality food over all the superficial things that other restaurants waste money on. Honestly we loved it and it's the best Chinese you can find in the area.“
