“Literally the BEST Chinese food in El Dorado county. I had general chicken and it was out of this world. Everything was extremely fresh. When we walked in the staff was snapping peas at a table, very authentic food and excellent service. It's definitely called Wonderful Chinese food for a reason!“

“Since I was coming down the hill after a day hike in Placerville, I stopped by Hong Kong Inn to grab takeout to celebrate New Year's Eve. I was not in the mood to cook dinner and remembered this restaurant was nearby. The food was pretty good, Americanized Chinese style. They cook without MSG which I appreciate. I ordered the chicken fried rice and tangerine chicken. The fried rice was fantastic. The rice was light and fluffy with absolutely no oiliness. Very clean tasting. The pieces of chicken were cleanly cut pieces of light meat. The tangerine chicken was good. It was not overly sweet since they do not use HFCS sauces or MSG. The coating was not over floured and the chicken was moist. The menu has a hot chili pepper next to the tangerine chicken but you can ask for it to be cooked mild. Still yummy either way. The interior is a bit outdated but clean. The folks that work here are so darn kind. Another great thing about this place is the lunch ~$10.50 and dinner specials ~$13 are offered every day, not just on the weekdays.“

“We stopped here while road-tripping through Northern California and were stricken with a craving for Chinese food. It was the best I've had in a while. The wife and I both ordered lunch specials. She had sweet and sour shrimp and I had Mongolian beef. All the lunch specials come with pork fried rice or chow mein and egg rolls and are preceded with soup, either egg flower or hot and sour. Honestly, it's a lot of food. And the price is extremely reasonable. Altogether lunch for both of us cost slightly over $21 before tip. And I left a healthy tip because the service was outstanding. So, next time you're anywhere near Placerville and you find yourself jonesing for Chinese, The Golden Dragon is your answer.“
“You walk in and they always greet youwith a smile. Seated quickly and attended to with warmth and professionalism. Cater to customers needs while making you feel more at home enjoying your meal. We've never been disappointed the menu and service is excellent . Just after a couple of visits they remember our favorites. We now take our grandson once a week he loves to dine there as well.Fully recommend them for a wonderful meal.“
