“How an authentic Japanese sushi restaurant came to be right on the edge of Hwy 50 in Polock Pines California is a mystery. But the food was excellent, plentiful, affordable, and well presented on an outside deck overlooking a misty Sierra valley. I'll be back, you should go too.”

“A vegetarian who hates beer walks into a brewery bbq place. Probably not a great idea but when you're with a group of people you go with the flow.
The guy working helped me pick out what to drink and eat. I had a guava seltzer heavy on the guava and it was AMAZING, I like that you can control how much flavoring is added.
I ordered mac n cheese to eat and it was pretty good too.
I may have to come back with my meat eating beer drinking husband.”

“This winery is one of the best! We visited for a wine tasting and the gentleman was so informative about the wines and how they are harvested, we couldn’t get enough of his knowledge! The wines, all six, that we selected on our own were excellent! We will probably join the club when we get home! Also, there is a picnic area that you can purchase a charcuterie board or cheese and crackers, spreads and dips to sit down and enjoy with your bottle of wine! It’s fantastic!”

Great food, excellent service and cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend the strawberry Panna cotta with chocolate mousse for dessert. Great personal service from the owner!! Very friendly. The location is spectacular...nestled right in the pines, with gorgeous views looking out over the vineyard! They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, which is a plus! Narrow Gate Vineyards wines are bio-dynamic, so not only are the wines full bodied with incredible characteristics, but the fact they're made from the finest grapes, with no harsh chemicals or additives (like many other wines), makes this a true winner! “Unbelievable food! I am so excited to have discovered this foothill gem on a whim. The Place is a little out of the way, but WELL worth the trip. It wouldn't be a stretch to say this is the best food in El Dorado County. The cuisine is Italian fusion rather than straight Italian, but it works incredibly well! Make sure you start with the Piemontese Bagna Cauda (AKA "Hot Bath"). It's the best flat bread you'll ever have, without hyperbole: crispy outside, wonderfully doughy inside. For main courses… take your pick. The pizza— traditional Napoli Italian style— is perfect, no matter which one you choose. The other entrees are just as good. Don’t be put off by the use of polenta in place of traditional pasta. I was skeptical at first, but the first bite washed away all misgivings. These people know how to cook! Bene, Cirino’s, Sergio’s, Three Forks… all the best Italian places in the foothills will have to fight for second place.”

“We live over and hour away and decided to go here for Mother’s Day weekend. On our way driving up there they sent me a text message asking if we could change our reservation time because the people before us were running late. No big deal we could walk around and check out the stores. When we got there, we were seated immediately and the people were super friendly. It took us over an hour and a half to get our food. They brought out the kids food about 30 minutes before ours. This Left the kids with nothing to do while we ate. I had to ask someone else to bring us a refill on the drinks because our waitress didn’t come back for about about 30 minutes (this was while we were still waiting for our food) Our waitress was super friendly and apologized. Food was ok. We were going to do the dessert fondue, but after waiting an hour and a half just to get a crêpe we decided to skip it and go somewhere else for dessert. It was a very long drive and borderline disappointing for the service. The atmosphere was cool. The kids had fun despite sitting there forever. We probably will not be returning. I’m not sure if this was just an off day for them because there’s a lot of other good reviews, but for us it was NOT an enjoyable experience.”

“We cannot say enough great things about our visit to Smith Flat House. This restaurant was recommended to us by the bed and breakfast we were staying at, and there were moments my partner and I just STARED at each other because the dishes were SO GOOD. We started with the bruschetta and the tomatoes were at their peak, we loved how the bruschetta was served, the bread/crostini had the perfect crust and softness in the middle. The 2018 Mira Flores Zinfandel and Mira Flores Sparkling wines were incredible and paired well with our dinners (Jambalya Risotto, and the special of the day, duck confit with grits). I was so full, and still could not leave a bite behind (and we fit in dessert - cheesecake). We sat in the basement seating, in the back area and thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and atmosphere. I'm hoping our visit to Apple Hill and Smith Flat House becomes an annual tradition going forward - I am very much looking forward to another visit here.”

You need to book a reservation online for the Friday lobster special any crowd larger than 4 requires you to call in the casino customer service line.”

So we googled other locations close by and ended up at Grand China. We've lived in EDC for years and never knew that it was even there. Since this is on the back side of the shopping center and can be easily missed. I have to say the food was excellent, it was so tasty and light, not greasy at all like many other restaurants! The owner and wait staff were so nice, the atmosphere was great too. The portions were generous and I was actually so happy that we had leftovers to take home and enjoy again.We'll definitely be back to this hidden treasure behind Mickey D's!! ?”

“I went to Annie's for the first time today and ordered the Mexicali sandwich and fries. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sandwich had just the right amount of spiciness to it with the chipotle sauce and jalapenos. The fries were amazing and crispy too. Everyone that works there was very attentive and super friendly. I live right around the corner and I will definitely be back to try the breakfast and mimosas. I told my husband it was a 10 out of 10.”

“I have purchased a couple of gift boxes from Lisa's Farmhouse Creations, and received one as a gift. Amazing taste, quality, and beautiful presentation. I love the variety, and having everything individually packaged makes them ship well and last longer. No products stick together! I am so thrilled with her products that I have a monthly order sent to my grandmother. She sends her something different every month, and even creates a sweet little note card to go on top. Can't recommend Lisa's shop enough. You will not be disappointed!”

Environment is QUITE surprising inside - outside looks like a family-friendly! We ordered our favorite burgers, garlic fries & house salad again and they do not disappoint! We have tried the fish 'n' chips and the patty melt as well and they are outstanding.

We had sweet & sour chicken, beef with broccoli and house pork & chicken chow mein.

I don't know what they do but I have never eaten beef or chicken this tender in my life. Our 2 year old was cutting the beef and chicken with a spoon with ease. He ate more meat tonight than any other night in his life.

There's a CVS closeby too, so could shop there for upcoming hiking trip while the order was being prepared. Nice cheap food - very oily and very carb-heavy but that's what I needed before the big hikes around Tahoe the next day.

It wasn’t a bad experience at all, but if you’re looking for service beyond the ordinary, this isn’t the place; its feel is more of a big-city Starbucks than a small-town coffee shop. On the positive side, I’ve never waited long for a drink here.”
