18 Best Wineries in Placerville

Boeger Winery Wineries • $$
1709 Carson Rd, Placerville

“This winery is one of the best! We visited for a wine tasting and the gentleman was so informative about the wines and how they are harvested, we couldn’t get enough of his knowledge! The wines, all six, that we selected on our own were excellent! We will probably join the club when we get home! Also, there is a picnic area that you can purchase a charcuterie board or cheese and crackers, spreads and dips to sit down and enjoy with your bottle of wine! It’s fantastic!“

Lava Cap Winery Winery •
2221 Fruitridge Rd, Placerville

“A true gem in the area. Come during the week to enjoy the atmosphere to the full. I have been being my family for years and my mother has been a member for just as long. There isn’t a bad wine here in fact most you will enjoy and this is coming from someone that prefers distilleries and bourbons. Very little kid friendly and pet friendly.“

Holly's Hill Vineyards and Brewery Winery • $
3680 Leisure Ln, Placerville

“Make a stop at this welcoming vineyard! I'm already planning a trip back just to experience more of Holly's Hill.

We stumbled across this vineyard on our way from Apple Hill to Grandma's in Somerset. It was the location and brewery (for my husband) that caught our attention. Unfortunately, it was only a quick stop for us. They were in the middle of a member's event but still made room for us. The view and setting are unbeatable, and the wine was delightful sitting under an oak tree while eating a pizza. My husband really enjoyed the IPA and also liked the porter. I can't wait to come back for a tasting to explore more of their wines.“

Narrow Gate Vineyards (Biodynamic Winery & Vineyard) Wineries • $$
4282 Pleasant Valley Rd, Placerville

“I had a wonderful experience at Narrow Gate Vineyards! Taylor was absolutely Amazing and provided exceptional customer service! Very friendly staff, incredible wine, and I truly enjoyed their Charcuterie, Cheese, and Condiment tray! Narrow Gate Vineyards has a great wine and food menu and selection! The location is spectacular...nestled right in the pines, with gorgeous views looking out over the vineyard! They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, which is a plus! Narrow Gate Vineyards wines are bio-dynamic, so not only are the wines full bodied with incredible characteristics, but the fact they're made from the finest grapes, with no harsh chemicals or additives (like many other wines), makes this a true winner! Most of all, I love the pleasant atmosphere and the friendly, helpful staff. Thanks again Taylor for providing us with Amazing service! We will definitely be back again soon!“

“Came all the way from Las Vegas for the Nevada Days at Apple Hill. My daughter's first wine tasting. Anna was a treat! So patient and informative and brought different wines for my daughter and grandmother, who liked sweet, versus me since I prefer dry reds. A gorgeous setting and delightful wines.“

Saureel Vineyards Wineries •

“We had the most beautiful and epic wedding at this venue and would highly recommend! Jordan and her team of coordinators were very helpful and communicative during the whole planning process and pulled off all our decor and last minute items super well! All staff is very friendly and approachable. The environment is casual , but classy and the surroundings are unmatched for unbelievable photos! Our guests all said it was one, if not the best wedding they've attended. The lake house is an added bonus as well and we plan to return to stay in their super comfy beds!“

Pulled Pork Tacos

“It's amazing how this small kitchen manages to make such delicious meals! My girlfriend and I had the Beef Brisket and the Pulled Pork Tacos with a side of Pingo and absolutely enjoyed our time here!

The beef was my favorite! It was so tender and flavorful and went well with the crispy onions.

The outdoor seating is also just so cute! A perfect first stop in apple hill ?“

Field Number Fifteen Winery and Brewery Wineries •
4771 Greenhills Rd, Placerville

“Strange enough to run into Kenyan (FNF#15 owner and past colleague) 10 yrs after we met. He was stocking his wine on the shelves at a local liquor store. After a short spat of equal recognition, he informs me of his organic “micro” brewery. Being a tap house owner myself, I strive to support local and independent, thus I partook! The wheat beer he crafted has been on tap but a short while and delivers consistent satisfaction to those who partake. This batch itself carries an embodied citrus tartness, bordering a tart saison but with a cloudy wheat appeal…prefered with a citrus slice either to add sweetness or compliment tartness. Cheers!“

Gold Hill Vineyard and Brewery Pubs • $$
5660 Vineyard Ln, Placerville

“It was a good experience, we arrived at Gold Hill Vineyard because of fate that made us get lost.
We did a wine tasting, the truth is I would have liked them to explain a little about each wine, differences and the correct way to taste the wine but that was not the case, they only put wine in the glass, which is the reason why I leave 4 stars.
Because I know that the service could be better if they took more time, but I completely understand that we had already arrived half an hour before closing.
The wines were quite good, perhaps they needed more variety of sweet wines.
The place was very nice, very romantic.
Would I go back?
Probably, I don't know.“
