The service here was fantastic! I got a vanilla bean ice and a brown sugar chocolate chip cookie. The young lady that owns this spot was so nice, and she provided suggestions. Don't waste your time going to McDonald's to get an ice cream. This is a way better
This place is such a little gem! I do not think of myself as a food connoisseur but I have a European palate which, unfortunately for me is very, very difficult to please. Shorty's quickly turned into one of the few places (the only one in Placerville) that makes my taste buds sing! Their chocolate cakes are decadent, their donuts pillowy soft (butter and salt being my favorite) and the most surprising of all; their canned tiramisu. Shorty's Gelato & Bakery is a sweet haven with a wide variety of treats to choose from. Their baked goods, such as the chocolate chip cookie and oatmeal thin mint cookie, are soft, not too sweet, and perfectly balanced. The coconut macaroons are also a highlight, reminiscent of homemade treats. The gelato is a must-try, with lots of different flavors that switch out occasionally. The mint chip gelato is perfect and the dark chocolate mousse cake is to die for. The donuts are so fresh and delicious, considered hands down the best in town. For the baked goods and pastries, you can tell love is put into them. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better.
