Placerville's Spice Kitchen Reviews
We had the most wonderful experience at Spice Kitchen in Placerville! My husband ordered the Chicken Curry and I had the Lamb Korma — and both dishes were made to absolute perfection. The flavors were rich, authentic, and beautifully balanced. I love my food spicy, and the Lamb Korma was perfectly seasoned for me — full of warmth and depth — yet mild enough that my husband enjoyed every bite as well. That’s not an easy balance to strike!

I live in the area, and we eat here at least once a week! I had. Ever eaten Indian food before they opened up, now I am hooked. I don’t have anything to compare it to, but I DO know the food is quite delicious. ! The husband/owner is very proud of his wife’s cooking! I can see why! Aldo, amazingly nice people, they order stuff for me in the store, in 33 years of living here, no one has ever offered to do that, and then ACTUALLY DO IT! Placerville's Spice Kitchen, featuring gifted chef Suraj, offers an outstanding experience with authentic flavors, aromas, and tastes. The food is not greasy, and diners mostly feel energized after eating. The chicken tikka in several recipes is amazing, with small and very nicely marinated pieces. The biryani has every grain delicious and aromatic, and the rose lassi is perfect. The use of chutneys and sauces in the wraps and pizzas gives them a very home made touch. The butter chicken, garlic naan, and butter samosas are popular, and the mango lassi is loved by children. Other standout dishes include the Chicken Curry, Lamb Korma, tiki masala, Adoo ghobi, coconut shrimp, Saag Paneer, eggplant curry, and a tomato curry dish that is to die for.
The charming, quirky setup features an outdoor patio with cute little chandeliers, a rolling water fountain, and pleasant music. The outdoor seating area is connected to a convenience store offering local wines and craft beers. The convenience store clerk doubles as an excellent, classy waiter, with attentive, warm, and professional service. The owners and staff are friendly, and the chef personally greets guests. This gem of a restaurant is perfect for a cozy night in with takeout or a memorable dining experience.
