15 Best American Restaurants in Placerville

“Folks this is by far the best burger place I've been to in California. It is one of the very few restaurants that get better as the time goes. The owners and the staff are very nice and professional. They have a variety of burgers, including bison and elk amd lamb, hot sandwiches a few different salads to choose from including garden, caesar and chicken fruit salad that has seasonal fruits and veggies added. This way its seasonally a little bit different. All their products are locally bought and organic. Zoe's gluten free rolls are superb. None of their foods are industrial grown. The owner John is a good man, treats his employees and customers like family always. I would highly recommend this place to everyone in California and abroad.Kid-friendliness: There's enough seating for whole family inside and outside. Family friendly. Nice historic pictures on the wall.Dietary restrictions: Really good gluten free option.”

“We eat here every time I visit family in Placerville. The food is top notch and more unique than the average Mexican restaurant. Yet, it's not so "fine dining" as to lose the comfort food feel. In particular, we love their chips'n'salsa, black beens, and green rice. My wife thinks they serve the best chili relleno she's ever had, and I'm a big fan of the Enchiladas. It is expensive though, with prices hugely increasing over the last few years; but, that's everywhere I'm afraid. Last night our server found out that it was my wife's 40th B-day and she brought out a piece of chocolate cake with a candle and sang happy birthday. I wish I could remember her name because her service was top notch. If you have the funding, I highly recommend this place (good beer selection too!).”

“Wow!!!! Best pizza I have EVER had. No joke. The manager is so accommodating. Food was running a little behind and he brought out fresh lobster bisque soup. He also provided an excellent truffle oil as a side for our pizza. I am in heaven. If you are in the area, this is a MUST!”

“Had dinner with life long friends and everything was perfect. The outdoor seating was nice and it would accommodate in case of rain. I had the Mary's Free Range Buttermilk Fried Chicken Breast with polenta and broccolini. Hubby had ribeye. We had turnip fries for starter. Everything tasted amazing and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend. A little pricey but good for special occasions.”

“This is a really nice place. The food was good..except the tartar sauce (fish sandwich) had oddly sour bitter flavor. I scraped it off the bun, which improved the flavor of the sandwich. The fish itself was great. The cheese burgers could use either thicker slices or 2 slices of cheese. The fries were fantastic. The onion rings a bit greasy, but we really liked them.We plan on going again. Give this place a try.. nice staff and atmosphere and overall good food.”

“Timmy's Brown Bag is an absolute gem! It's like the perfect example of a hidden treasure, with their one-of-a-kind sandwiches that not only taste amazing but also leave you full without emptying your wallet. No doubt, I'm gonna keep coming back for more – it's just that good!”

“Okay, I gave 4 stars because they served plant based garden burgers—which are okay. The bun was a little day old—shriveled —they should have toasted it so it wouldn’t mush away & it could use more lettuce but all in all it was okay. Fried zucchini was good—fresh—(instead of frozen) would have made it even better!Vegetarian options: Thank you for having vegetarian options! Garden burger was fine but bun needed toasting so the sandwich would hold together better. Zucchini fries were great—loved them with ranch dressing!Dietary restrictions: They paid attention to my onion allergy!”

“Cute little spot in Placerville, owner operated and nice menu. Not shown in the pictures was an amazing wedge salad that we split. It was so big we could have shared half of one, every bite was delicious. Crisp fresh iceberg lettuce with homemade blue cheese dressing . Bacon crumbles. It's a yummy great starter.Hubby had Fish n chips fried perfectly and fresh, and the Tarter sauce is housemade and quite delicious. The Special was a PB&J burger w/ habanero jelly ,peanut butter, fried onions strings, bacon, and cheddar(?)cheese . I had chosen sweet potato fries nom nom. The burger & bacon was a bit on the well side for me but lots of people like it cooked that way , I just prefer a medium on a burger & will ask for it next time I come. Which i hope we will soon the staff is very friendly and more yummy things to try on the menu next time we are in Placerville.”

“I stopped at this place for breakfast this morning. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was cute. I got the Irish Benedict. It was good but a little bland. I would have liked the corned beef hash to have some crisp to it and the holiday sauce was a little oily for my liking but I have been there before and the food was good last time. Which is why I'm giving it a 4 star because I know they do have other dishes that are good. I just wasn't a fan of this plate. Additionally the price was good for the amount of food.”

“What a sweet find! The gal at the counter welcomed me and is sweet. I enjoyed a cold beer while waiting for my pizza and spoke with the owner, Tim. Absolutely pleasant experience AND the pizza is to die for!!!! Often the problem with country places is a general unfriendliness, but this place is incredible. I can’t wait to return and feel silly for waiting so long to try it out.”

“We ate here a couple times in previous years. Excellent food, nice place, but their hours didn't mesh well with our trips. Now it's got a new name and new ownership, the hours work a lot better (open all day), and the food is just as good. Possibly less fancy? Great flavor, well-cooked (medium rare burger, as requested), and plentiful. We'll be coming here more often now.”

“Really enjoyed their breakfasts. I got the breakfast burger last visit. Amazing. The service is always really good and the food is always on point. That atmosphere just looks a little tired and worn. Most rooms weren't really clean. Overall still a great place to go. Highly recommend it and will definitely be back.”

“I have friends who love this place, I'm not big on bars but I wanted to give a shout out to the owners who I saw donated to the children involved in that horrible car incident a few days ago. I think that's really great of you guys to give back to the injured children in the community. I'll definitely be recommending this place.”
