Taphouse is one of those super underrated gems of placerville! Although I worked there, the main reason I actually applied for a job was because of the great food, and amazing atmosphere. As a former employee, it’s still one of my absolute favorites to visit.
They are extremely friendly and professional. Can't beat the music and food.

Service is attentive and friendly, with staff efficiently handling large groups, such as a wedding party of 15. The interior is clean and brightly lit, though some find it too bright. There is a back patio area and an outside seating space on the north side near highway 50. The beer selection is excellent, and the standout appetizers include the cheese dip and chips. Customers appreciate cold drinks and the overall good food quality, though noise levels can be high when busy, making conversation difficult. The restaurant is a popular spot for lunch and family outings, with generous portions like the BOJ burger with sweet potato fries, which are described as huge, rich, and delicious.
