Great family ran place
Geartooth Alewerks is genuinely one of Placerville’s best hidden gems. It’s a family-owned brewery, and the whole family puts so much care into what they do. Mom runs the kitchen, Dad handles the smoking of the meats, and the brothers are usually out front making everyone feel welcome. They are some of the kindest, most generous people, and the whole place has such a friendly, relaxed, family-friendly, familiar atmosphere.

Geartooth Alewerks is a family-owned brewery and BBQ restaurant that offers excellent food and drinks. The brewery produces all its beers in-house, ensuring a unique selection for guests. The food is smoked to perfection, and the menu features delicious dishes such as trisKIT and jalapeno poopers, with highlights like the spectacular ribs and the standout pork belly rub. The Jolene ale is also a must-try. Recently, the restaurant launched a new menu item, the CHILI MAC BOWL with a choice of meat, which has received high praise. Guests have described the Trisket and PBLT sandwiches as some of the best ever, with fresh ingredients and tasty flavors. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff provides friendly and phenomenal service. The chicken falls right off the bone, the mac n cheese is flavorful, and the beer is ice cold and crispy.
