We've got Placerville's top Mexican restaurants covered for you.
“We love this place, and we come here at least once a month! Isa and his mom are always kind and genuine. If you ever get the chance to ask them about their lives, how they acquired the restaurant, and what inspires them — do it!They make authentic food that’s affordable, filling, and tasty.“
“The ladies working here were super nice and made the experience very pleasant. Empanada was HUGE. I didn't like the flavor of it much but I could see someone who likes quesadillas loving this style empanada. Their chicken tacos were really good and their chips had flour chips mixed into the corn batch, loved that. Their medium salsa was good too.“
“Best place I’ve visited in a long while. I went 4 times in a row with my Helicopter crew. The best thing I had to eat was that seafood chimi OMG was it delicious. Our bartender that night was outstanding she kept our drinks topped off and had a great chat which kept us engaged while eating. I’d recommend the seafood chimi all day to anyone. But it is big af definitely worth the money. I had it with shrimp inside and it was awesome. Thanks again Casa Los Abuelos. HP Helicopters Crew ✌️??????? [email protected]. very chill environment loved it.“
“We stopped by on a Monday afternoon driving back from the mountains. We ordered a wet chicken burrito and fish tacos. On the chicken burrito, we substituted grilled chicken and it was nearly $4 for that. The grilled chicken was dry and the burrito needed more flavor.Fish tacos tasted great. Salsa and chips are great too.The portion is smaller than other places but a good size enough for lunch. We were on the road so we skipped the good drinks. Lots of variety to choose from there.“
“I'm originally from Los Angeles, with Mexican parents (from Jalisco) and this is the best Mexican food we've had in the region. Always super friendly and great service. They have boom menudo on the weekends.Mi marido es bien delicado pero le encanta la comida de El Carnaval.“
“We did not know their hours and arrived at closing. We were welcomed in, served promptly with hot food and a very polite staff. The food was fresh and very good. We had been snowed in for almost 2 weeks so a hot meal sure hit the spot. Highly recommend for good food and friendly place to eat.“
“This is our favorite El Forestero in placerville. Place is always very tidy and salsa bar stocked up. Plenty of parking. Super friendly service. Drive-thru is fast and efficient. I love the decor. I'll never get sick of the Cornelius tacos that's the best.“
“A beautiful restaurant in downtown Placerville, California. Great atmosphere, excellent service and, for the most part, really good food. The one-star deduction is because I think that a great Mexican restaurant should have great salsa. Cascada's salsa is really bland with zero spice. Tip: if you ask, they will provide some habanero sauce that you can add to the salsa. Careful ... it's really hot, but it does improve the salsa.“
“This has become my go-to restaurant. I couldn't possibly express how much I love the burritos here, the quality and freshness of the food is absolutely beyond satisfactory. When we're not so hungry my bf and I split a burrito, chips and salsa, and a couple of modelos and eat on the patio. It's our weekend ritual at this point. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes amazing food!“
“Update- Came by for some carnitas street mini tacos for $2.15 each and some watermelon water agua de frescas! Excellente'! Muchos gracias!Came here for the first time year. We're in love with this place and can't hardly wait to try more things on the menu. Excellent chile Colorado. Beautiful burritos! Refried beans and rice are excellent. Friendly window service. Nice location. Clean, courteous, respectful and excellent service. What a gem for our county. 5 stars for sure!“
“Love their tacos. The fish is not fried but still really tasty. Their al pastor is delicious (but saucey) and I like their chorizo too. Friend always gets the burritos because they are HUGE. BD gets their pupusas which comes with a fantastic slaw. I to the market for the seasoning on their chicken and to pick up simple items I'll need if I'm making food at home. Service has always been friendly. Please bring back the tables so we can eat there. I know it's tight sometimes but I miss the salsa and eating inside if it's rainy outside.“
