Experience Loomis' Mexican food at these fantastic spots.
“Around the holiday season, I help plan an event for about 250 field employees, the struggle is... it's an early morning event starting at 5:45/6am. We booked Messy's for breakfast burritos and they had 3 options. Messy's was impressively prepared, delicious and efficient. Communication was great and service was friendly even early in the morning! Pricing was competitive and everything was straightforward. We received a few other quotes from local companies that I'm sure are delicious, but Messy's was professional with communication and invoice structure making the booking process seamless and assuring. Will definitely be using them in the future.“
“Alright, buckle up because I'm about to spill the beans on my absolute favorite Mexican joint in town! First things first, they've got a massive parking lot, so finding a spot is never a headache. Now, it can get a tad busy during lunch and dinner hours, but fear not! It doesn't impact the top-notch service they provide. And let me tell you about their birria tacos...oh my goodness, they're straight-up drool-worthy! The moment you step inside, you're greeted with a cozy and inviting atmosphere that just warms your soul. Now, they may not have a full bar, but fear not, my friend! They've got a selection of beers and wine margaritas to quench your thirst. The staff? Oh, they're as friendly as can be, always making you feel right at home. And here's the cherry on top: they're all about giving back to the community, which makes me a regular visitor. It's the kind of place that not only satisfies your taste buds but also warms your heart. So, if you're looking for a Mexican food paradise, this is the spot to be!“
“For starters, they have great food. I would give them a 5 stars, but the fact that they advertise the "Strawberry twists" in person and online in this exact restaurant's menu and then when you go to order them they say they do not make it, is kind of disappointing. Once when I asked them about it, one of the staff members was not friendly about it. Sometimes can be slow, but mostly worth the wait.“
“Amazing food and experience! Hopefully they are able to get a liquor license for Tequila or Mezcal, but still the cucumber gimlet is perfect. The staff is very polite, explained the mains, explained the history of the restaurant and the inspiration. Thank you for an amazing time! We'll be back!“
“My family and I love to eat at Taqueria Roberto not only because of the great food but also because one of the best service the offer! I like talking to all the mployees because they are always very friendly and attentive! We recommend all the food!“
“Preaching to the choir for all of you regulars, the food here is delicious. For those of you, the never ate here and are curious be assured you will be well fed for a pittance. This is good quality cheap eats. Ate seated in the covered patio. It's basic. Family friendly. You don't want to bring a first date here if you plan to impress the person with your impeccable style and taste. But if your date is a foodie, just come, no need to dress up fancy. Bambie had the ahi tacos. I had the Oaxacan green mole' with chicken plate. Fresh and flavorful, plentiful, plated pretty. With one beer this feast cost all of $40. Had food left after I was stuffed for take home snack tonight. Family owned, friendly folks, casual. Recommended!“
“I don't know how I didn't know about this place!!! Best Mexican restaurant in town.I got the Chile relleno & shirp taco and it was delicious ? !! Fast , clean and super friendly people. Will come back to try the giant burrito.“
“This is our go too when we're feeling Mexican food. They're very authentic and have a variety of options to choose from. The burritos are packed and never disappoint, the fajitas are large and very filling, the Barilla street tacos are AMAZING but a tad pricy in my opinion and they also have a free chips/sauce bar (with the purchase of food of course).Have been and will continue coming back again and again!Wheelchair accessibility: There is wheelchair accessibility and handicap spots in front of the restaurant.“
“Very friendly staff that work here. The food was so good. I had a two combo meal deal. Mine was a cheese enchilada and a fully loaded beef burrito. There was so much food that I took my burrito home.My friends even took home leftovers. We will be back...“
“I stopped by Panchitos because of the unique name and I was very hungry. I was craving fish tacos. Thankfully they had it and I also ordered the shrimp tacos and their home made flan. I am a big foodie! I've lived in San Jose, mountain view, all over the bay area and I'm now in Placer County. Panchitos has excellent service and the best tacos and flan! No matter what you order, you will not be disappointed and you absolutely MUST try their flan. This just made my day! Thank you for your wonderful food and for your very kind hospitality. I will return with my family!“
“The BEST place to eat! I go all the time and i have never been disappointed. The staff are always so nice too, they keep that place clean! You have to go to El Burrito!! But im warning you, youll have to say goodbye to your regular go to Mexican restaurant.. this is your new go to.!“
“The breakfast burritos are so good and the rolled tacos are amazing! Nice little salsa bar and the staff is always friendly. Quick service and the price is right. Haven't gone for lunch/dinner, but I'm sure it's as good as the breakfast!“
“WOW , just WOW. I'm impressed by the food here. Stopped by just to curve my hunger and ended up having a feast. I got the 4 tacos, buche, asada, shrimp and fish. Every single one was perfectly seasoned, the salsas paired so well with every bite.. this place is about 40 min away from me and I will definitely make this drive ?? if you're in the area drop by !“
“This place needs to be known by more people! Went in to get some grilling meat for NFL playoffs and it blew me away. Everything is extremely clean and the staff was very welcoming. I was able to ask questions about products to verify if anything contained gluten. I settled on the pre marinated Carne Asada. It was delicious and amazing flavor combo. They also offer to go tacos and tamales. I will be back to try them out in the near future!“
“Lots of parking around the building. There's indoor seating as well as a covered patio with heating when the weather calls for it. We were able to seat ourselves in a booth right away in a Sunday afternoon. Horchata - 7 - A bit sweet and less cinnamon than we like but it's definitely in there. Very drinkable Chips and Salsa - 6 - Can't beat free but the salsa just wasn't very good. The chips were decent but undersalted. Flautas with chicken and shredded beef - 10 - Best item they sell. Light crunch with perfectly cooked chicken and shredded beef. Enmoladas - 10 - The mole was AMAZING. Rich in flavor but not too sweet. Perfect compliment to the chicken enchiladas. Chile verde - 9 - Excellent flavor and high quality meat but could use a touch more spice. New Mexico enchiladas -8 - Excellent enchilada sauce but I felt the egg just overwhelmed the dish. This makes me want to try enchiladas here. Pollo Asado - 6 - The chicken didn't offer much flavor. I would t order this again. It was a healthy plate though! Flan - 8 - I thought the flan was a little thin but the caramel sauce was perfectly executed. I like my flan a but more eggy/custardy. This was an excellent place to get sundown Mexican food. I've forgotten how good the food is here and vow to back to better navigate the menu. The lunch specials look attractive so I'll give that a shot next!“
“What. A. Find. Traveling to Reno and I-80 is closed so we stopped and stayed in Auburn. Walked over to this hole in the wall Mexican joint and stumbled upon a gem. I travel to Baja frequently and this place is as good, and definitely as authentic, as any restaurant I've been to in Mexico. The soups were over the top. My wife went with the chicken tortilla and the portion was a meal in itself. The prices were so good, I figured that the portions must be small, so I went a la carte with a Baja fish taco (the only so-so item), a cheese enchilada (excellent) and chili rellenos (the best I've ever had, no exaggeration.) The locals know the place, but if you're traveling through, stop here, you won't be disappointed. The only downside to the meal was it was so much food that I didn't get to try the homemade flan.“
“Post-hiking at Hidden Falls, decided to refuel at this spot with some al pastor tacos - and oh, were they a treat! Flavorful and hit just the right spot after a day on the trails. Now, let's talk about that habanero hot sauce - it packs a decent punch, so spice lovers, you're in for a thrill! Parking was surprisingly hassle-free, which is always a bonus. The bathroom was spotless, a testament to their attention to cleanliness. And the staff? Couldn't have been friendlier, adding a warm touch to the whole experience. If you find yourself in the area, definitely consider this place for a tasty bite.“
“Fantastic! I love the staff I love everything that I've had here. They turned me into a coconut convert. I used to hate them but the way they prepare for here is delightful. We used to live two blocks away and I was so sad when we moved because I wasn't within walking distance to this place anymore, I now make an additional 30 minute drive just to buy from here. Well worth it, they also hand make all of their ice creams in house.“
“Los Zarapes Mexican restaurant recently changed ownership. It's a family run business with multiple generations working there. They treat their customers like family, exuding a welcoming family vibe. They serve up traditional Mexican comfort food done right. The unassuming restaurant is tucked inside a strip mall in Granite Bay.I ordered borrego which is a marinated lamb shank. I never had borrego before. I've had lamb shank, just not borrego. So I was excited to try it. The plate also came with refried beans, rice, tortillas, and a bowl of the sauce that the lamb was braised in. $19.99. The sauce had a strong, deep flavor replicating the flavors of the shank. The shank had a strong gamey flavor as expected. I enjoyed it. The meat was tender and fork shreddable. Mmm.An added bonus was that on the weekends, they serve housemade tortillas. Fresh off the press. They make both corn and flour. I was able to ask for a half and half order. They had a classic, home made taste and look. They provide complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was darn tasty. Hubs ordered the crispy shredded beef taco plate. Of course, I took a bite of the taco. Not bad at all.Hubs and I popped in for lunch on a recent weekend. The place was popping. So much so, folks had to wait for a table. We lucked out and just beat the crowd. The two waitresses were busy. Our waitress was fantastic. She had a bright smile and personality. But with a full house, she was a constant whirl of energy and stretched a bit thin. She mentioned that since they opened, they have been gradually getting busier.“
“As authentic as you think you would expect if you were wanting great food. Service was good and so was everything else. I'd give it a shot again. Sometimes I'm a little picky and I'm always amazed when you find a nice little restaurant that's tuck in a corner and something you don't hear about very often, that makes you smile.“
“Jordyn was the one who served my mother, sister and myself. As someone who has been in the industry for ten years, this young lady hit every service standard imaginable. Attitude, attention to detail, genuine comfort and care for the consumer. Good service makes a difference in people's days, weeks, and general life. You made my mom's birthday special, thank you!“
“I’ve had barrios kitchen a bunch of times since they opened off of baseline, and the food is Incredible! From the tacos, torta, burritos To the dishes with hot Cheetos! So delicious! We don’t have a lot of authentic Mexican food in west Roseville So I was so excited to try it the first time, and I was very pleased which is why I have been back several times. The location is great and easy to get to and it doesn’t take long for you to get your food! You have to try this place!Parking: There is plenty of space to park in the dirt area around the truck“
“A really good local Mexican restaurant that’s ran out of an old house. Delicious food, good size portions, great chips, and a large selection in the salsa bar. My favorite from salsa bar is the avocado cilantro salsa! Service is fast with very kind staff! I have to say Taqueria Gonzalez is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Lincoln.Kid-friendliness: Family oriented and very friendly!“
“I'm never disappointed with whatever I order at this family restaurant. The service is always spectacular and the tables are always clean! I recommend the fish tacos and the fresh cantaloupe juice. Sooooo yummy!Dietary restrictions: Everything made custom to your order.Kid-friendliness: Yup, bring the kids. They have their own menu.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access entry, easy access seating. Just roll up to a table! Plenty of space for chairs to navigate and for others to move around.“
“We were in the area and stopped by for tacos. I enjoyed their quesabirria tacos. They were not too oily or burnt...just right for how my stomach was feeling. They have a full nacho and salsa bar. They were making fresh tortillas on the side. Very authentic and love the atmosphere. Great place to get your taco fix.“
“Good food and service. Nothing extraordinary, but good. I would recommend it if nearby. There is an attached food store that appears to have a good selection of Hispanic merchandise. Make sure you check it out after you've eaten in the restaurant.Parking: Easy entrances from Greenback Lane and Sunrise Vista Dr.“
“I have been to Flores Munchies many time and the service, food and overall quality has been nothing but amazing!! The atmosphere is very family friendly. What I love is the variety and the new items they constantly add and rotate! Mayra, Yvette, Jess and the staff are always going above and beyond. Totally recommend Flores Munchies!PS my favorite snacks are the biónicos, raspados, mini pancakes (my daughter loves them), ceviche and the new iced coffee!Kid-friendliness: Menu and location as well as the activities are kids friendly!“
“Went in for tamales and baked goods for the first time. They were all out of tamales and we were told they would be ready in about 2 hours, so we got some baked goods. We liked most of the baked goods so I came back for the tamales 2 hours later and Im glad I did. They were hot right from the steamer. They only had pork but thats all I wanted anyways. If you like tamales with more chunky meat to masa ratio like me and a little spicy then these are perfect. I added a couple of there salsas to amp up the spice and I was vey pleased. I would defintely pick these up again.“
“It's been going down hill rapidly. Breakfast burritos last couple weeks have been cold and cheese isn't even melted. Bleck, tortilla cold and hard. Late night window clerk doesn't speak English so they have to have other employees run over and translate! Last week I ordered a taco with no lettuce, they gave me only meat and extra lettuce.“
“It's a hole in the wall, but aren't those always the best places to get amazing tacos?I was referred to this restaurant specifically for the fish tacos and they didn't disappoint. The adobado (similar to an al pastor) was also phenomenal. One other important point to make is that in these times of excessive food prices (really everything prices), you can come here for a reasonably priced, extremely yummy meal. Hard to argue against that!“
“I honestly wish i could give this place a 10 star if not more, i ordered through door dash and I called the place, stating there was missing items in my order instead of giving me credit or putting up a fight, this man which i assume is the owner went above and beyond and brought me my food plus some. Seriously AMAZING place. Food is great staff amazing. Hands down best place, with just genuine people.“
“Excellent food. Pastor burrito, Pollo tacos, Carne asada tacos( highly recommend). All excellent flavor and portion sizes. Super clean restaurant, and large bar area away from main dining room.large screen menu display for getting a good view of the prepared dishes. great facility for eating inside and out. Staff friendly. Absolutely love the Salsa and Chips bar. IPA on tap to wash it all down. Lovely Sunday evening , enjoying food . Several people enjoying margaritas on the patio. When in Auburn, grab a quality meal for a reasonable price.“
“This place has the best Mexican food hands down, in town & for the best price! Very reasonably priced meals! I love their carne asada chimichanga! The tortilla is crisp, yet melts in your mouth & I love the small chunks of carne, tender & seasoned to perfection! The chimichanga is cooked to perfection & my husband loves the chicken fajitas & he says they are the best he's ever had too! The carne quesadilla is awesome too! I can't wait to try everything else & I will because the taste is right on!!! The rice & beans are so good too, I am very picky about my Mexican food!!! Their salsa is the best I've ever had, along with the chimichanga!!! Friendly service, outstanding food!!! We are hooked, will keep coming back for more & more, YUM YUM? ? ? Service is quick too!!! They serve cerveza too! Highly recommend!!! They also have take out!!! A must try if you love great Mexican food!!!“
“A perfect dinner date for our anniversary! Quaint and fun with attentive staff. I loved ordering off of the QR code and having food 'on demand.’ Within 5 to 10 minutes each item we ordered was delivered. The drinks were incredible and the huge variety of tacos made for a wonderful evening. Thanks for the great date!“
“The outside is a little sketchy but the food and service make up for it! Everyone was super nice and attentive. The food stole the show! To start, they bring out homemade chips, insanely good bean dip and a variety of authentic salsas. The beans are SO GOOD, the flavor is outta this world! I got the enchilada plate with shredded chicken, birria, and carne asada. The chicken is a MUST-TRY! Everything else was delicious too!“
“This is one of those places.....hidden gem!! Would definitely go back!! The fajitas (Steak &shrimp), were pretty good. Asada Fries were given a thumbs up from a teen. I would go back, staff was friendly and attentive. This place is small, not really an issue.“
“The food was amazing!! The service was excellent, and the ambiance was lovely.. My son and I came in and was immediately greeted with a smile from Fernanda. She even put a Pixar movie on for my son. The street tacos with Al Pastor were amazing, great place overall, and great experience, we will be coming back soon.. Thank you, Fernanda, for the amazing service!!“
“I moved up here recently from Santa Cruz and San Jose. I've been to every top taqueria in both cities and between. Burritos Jalisco is one of the best taquerias. It's my go to restaurant. The carnitas is excellent! Phil, James and Justin are great owners!“
“Shiloh was our server, he was fantastic! I had the Taco salad which is HUGE, I took a picture after I had eaten some and there's still so much left! I have the rest to my son in law for dinner and idk if he'll be able to finish it. Such a great deal and delicious!“
“We love to dine in here, the food is fresh and tastes delicious, even the chips & salsa are tasty, the family atmosphere makes you feel like you’re eating a homemade meal made with love. We seem to come at least twice a month if not more, we highly recommend. “
“Updated Review: During a recent visit, we had the steak and eggs brunch meal. The steak was grilled exactly as ordered and dressed with a bit of delicious ranchero sauce. Our server, Ashley, was attentive and friendly.Consistency in quality and service could be improved, but we keep coming back because the overall value is good. The quality of food and staff is inconsistent. Management needs to work on quality control and sufficient staffing. During some past visits, servers were great. Other times, they were not so attentive. Sometimes, the steak is a bit tough, and other times, it's perfect.Restrooms are modern and clean. The current manager seems conscious and intent on improving the restaurant.“
“One of my favorite places to go for Mexican food. I've never ordered anything that was bad everything is excellent. Our waitress is super friendly and attentive. Patio seating is available so you can bring your dog. I highly recommend this place.“
“I was driving by and noticed a sign for a $5.99 breakfast burrito between 7-10am, so I had to get one. I've ordered from here before, and for the price these burritos are exceptional! I recommend making this a part of your weekly routine.“
“Don Quixote's is an absolute gem in the world of Mexican cuisine, and my go-to order never fails to satisfy. The Double Item Combination Plate, featuring two mouthwatering enchiladas paired with a delightful soup, is a true testament to their culinary expertise. And let's not forget the star of the show: the tomatillo salsa, which adds a burst of flavor that elevates every bite to perfection. Beyond the extraordinary food, the fast and friendly service provided by the amazing staff only enhances the dining experience. I cannot recommend Don Quixotes enough to anyone seeking authentic Mexican flavors served with efficiency and warmth. It's a must-visit for anyone craving a delicious and satisfying meal!“
“Jimboy’s Tacos (in general) is by far the best fast food Mexican restaurant in the states. This location, specifically, is great, because they literally only sell the beef taco. It is that good.Parking: You will need to park down the street, it is a corner shop for take out.“
“A wonderful hole in the wall, the cashier is patient and friendly. The street tacos (Carne Asada) were the best tacos i had in a while since moving to Sacramento. The price for 4 tacos and coke is reasonable!!! The plate was so good i forgot to take a picture for the review. But i highly recommend this wonderful restaurant“
“This is my new favorite Mexican food spot. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is great. The staff is friendly and on top of everything you could need. We share the fajitas for two and leave full and paying a really great price. The crispy tacos and flautas are great too.“
“A very simple, very straightforward, family-run Mexican restaurant serving dependably uncomplicated food. This is a great place to have a long conversation with friends, and the wait staff will never try to upsell you.Basic.Simple.Uncomplicated.If you're thinking about visiting here for the first time, the only warning I will give has to do with the parking lot, which is tiny, tight, and sometimes crowded.“
“I’m a regular here and this review is long over due. Nothing but amazing things to say from this restaurant. The food is delicious! I’d recommend the super burrito and super nacho (that’s all I ever get). Very reasonably priced as well. Again, you shouldn’t be leaving this place left hungry. The ladies/servers who work there are very nice and welcoming. The cooks in the back are always doing an amazing job getting the food quickly ready. I’ll always continue to support El Portal Taqueria and I encourage everyone to do so as well.“
“La Fogata is one of the few classic Mexican restaurants you can still find today, I got their super burrito with grilled chicken and they grilled the chicken perfectly and they did a nice job at assembling the burrito to capture all the right flavors with each bite. Highly recommend this cozy restaurant!“
