“The carnitas meat in my tacos was amazing. So tender and moist, great salsa and salsa bar. The wife had huevos rancheros she loved it and our beans and rice were great too. Noticed everyone coming in was greeted through the kitchen window by the chef/owner. And he came out and was talking to us and another couple next table over. And offered us free Mexican desserts from bakery next door. So friendly like everyone was family. Food was so fresh and tasty, so authentic. Oh also very reasonable prices too.“

“Mainly I just go here to eat the food I brought, they don't complain about that or if you drink your own beer. The hot dogs with bacon and Mexican toppings looked and smelled amazing so one day I will give them a try. They also sell tall cans of space dust which is a major win. While the prices aren't GREAT, they are good compared to many resorts especially if you have a season pass.“

“I moved to Tahoe in 2003 and this was my absolute favorite place to eat. We moved to gardnerville 8 years ago and I really miss eating there, I wish they would open a restaraunt here. The owner was super nice and remembered his customers and treated them like friends.“

“This is now our favorite go to Mexican restaurant. We've live in South Lake Tahoe for 53 years by far this is the best Mexican restaurant food we've ever had. Don't give me wrong. We've had lots of good food at many of the other Mexican restaurants but this is now our go to David and. Lourdes are very hospitable, friendly, and great cooks“

“Everywhere I travel I’m always looking for what locals eat and try to steer clear of the tourist traps. This place passes the test. Nuzzled in near a subway and some other place. Soccer on the TV , with full Spanish commentary. Food … our party had street tacos x 8, quesadillas, and a pork plate. Food came out fast and full of flavor. We were all smiles and silence chowing down.“

“We stopped at Super Tacos for a quick bite before heading to the Gondola. We each got 2 carne asada tacos and they were really good. I liked that they use 2 tortillas and cook the outer one a little more so the taco doesn’t fall apart—smart move.
I added guac to mine which was tasty, but the real winner was the green chili salsa… wow, so good and full of flavor. Service was fine, nothing amazing, but it’s an outdoor-only spot so it’s all about the food anyway.
I’d definitely come back and try a burrito next time.“

“Gina is one of the most beautiful and wonderful people, always greeting me with a smile, always friendly. She's one of the best assets to this company. I hope her bosses love her like my family. She's the only reason why we keep coming.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“I am extremely picky when reviewing fast food spots because I travel so much and this location is one of the top.
My food looked like the pictures and was very fresh.
Annoyed I wasn't coming here fromt the start of the week. Excellent location.“

“This Taco Bell on Emerald Bay Rd is way better than the one on 50 nearer Stateline. The staff here have always been very friendly and their food has always been great! They're very helpful with menu choices and even if I'm closer to the other one, I come here instead. Please tell whoever makes the menus, keep Enchiritos ALL THE TIME!! (And tostadas too).“

“The 5-star reviews set high expectations. You can view this place two ways: lean into the nostalgic charm of a unique, seemingly authentic, cash-only hole-in-the-wall and call it 5 stars, or take a more objective view, which lands closer to 4.
The overgrown trailer counter service setting feels genuinely authentic, and the menu is extensive. Service is quick if it’s empty, but expect a wait when it’s busy. I ordered the marinated beef burrito: decent portion, overall good, but fairly bland with pretty dry meat. I ended up relying on multiple rounds of tomatillo hot sauce (also not vary flavorful) to boost the flavor. Orange oil eventually starts dripping out of the tortilla, which I couldn’t decide was a positive badge of authenticity or unneeded lubricant for a later trip to the toilet.
At around $10 in South Tahoe, it’s satisfying and a decent value, and I’d come back (likely try other menu items.) But it’s not a 5-star spot unless you’re heavily weighting the family-run, trailer-based charm over the food itself. If “authentic” to you means mild flavor and oil dripping, it fits. Otherwise, go in with tempered tastebud expectations and you'll definitely enjoy it. Solid 4 stars.“
