I moved to Tahoe in 2003 and this was my absolute favorite place to eat. We moved to gardnerville 8 years ago and I really miss eating there, I wish they would open a restaraunt here. The owner was super nice and remembered his customers and treated them like friends.

Jaliscos Taquería offers a range of Mexican food with great prices and good taste. The bean and cheese burrito, Cali burger, and asada super burrito are delicious and bigger than expected for the price. The verde salsa is amazing, with a little kick and a lot of flavor, and other mild and hot salsas are available. Tamales are great with a generous serving, and tasty guacamole comes free with combo plates. Seafood Fajitas, Fish Tacos, and Shrimp Ceviche are cooked well and authentic Mexican style. Service is nice, and the atmosphere is good. However, some reviews mention concerns. One chicken burrito tasted like canned chicken, not grilled, which was disappointing for authentic Mexican food. Prices have gone way up, while portion sizes are shrinking and quality and taste are declining. One taco had maybe 7 pieces of meat, with two inedible, and only nine chips for two people. Two tacos used to be filling but are no longer the same size. The place is a great lunch spot, quick and easy, but may not be a date night place.
