“My wife and I have loved the Basil for years, for it’s delicious food, great service, and relaxing ambiance. I personally love the Basil because the food is always fresh, nutritious and great tasting. Recently we chose them to provide catering for a 35-person birthday celebration at our home. We were extremely impressed by the time and attention that Chai gave to the planning of our event. The result was a beautiful set-up of amazing food and appetizers. Our guests totally loved it! Whether it’s for a simple lunch, a romantic or family dinner, or all-out catering, we can’t recommend The Basil enough!“

“We stayed in Carson City for 4 days and did not find this place until the last day and we had the best lunch ever and the best waitress Julia, that we came back that night for dinner and had another AWESOME meal and waitress Brittney. Thank you so much for such a great last day in your city.“

“Very slow pathetic service. Over 60 minutes to finally receive our dinners. It was well over 40 minutes to finally receive a water refill. Our waiter was very inattentive or forgot that we were there for dinner. Only 3 servers that we noticed and the restaurant was fairly slow. Perhaps a dozen or less tables being served. I guess the general lack of interest or concerns about our evening was very disappointing. Also, it was our son's Birthday and we were told that he would be receiving the usual Birthday Dessert. Two to three other tables received their Birthday desserts. Ours was completely forgotten or perhaps you ran out. The only mention of dessert was when the bus person was clearing our table and asked if we were keeping our spoons for dessert. 15 to 20 minutes now passes with no waiter or hint of dessert. I finally flag down the bus person again and ask for the check. The waiter did remember to check for any dining credits and it is reflected in the check. He leaves it for my signature and disappears. We are no again in limbo and waiting. 15 minutes later I walk up to the front of the restaurant and one of your Best waiters asks if he can assist me. I attempt to hand him my credit card and bill and my waiter comes from back of house with a very hot dish and the 2 of them try to exchange my credit card for the hot dish. Not a very smart move. I hope the waiter did not receive any burns to his hands.I am finally able to get my bill paid and leave without going ballistic ! This has been our worst experience in your restaurant Ever! We always look forward to the Excellent food and ambience that you offer. We had some minor service problems in a visit prior to this one but let it slide as people were a bit off or training that night. The food was Excellent. After tonight's episode we will always wonder if it is hit or miss when it comes to customer service,“

I ordered the Cottage Pie, and it was absolutely delicious—rich, hearty, and full of comforting flavor, with tender meat and creamy mashed potatoes baked to perfection. “Food was excellent but the wait time was horrendous. It took almost 30 min to get each order we put in for the all you can eat. No fun having to wait so long each time you put in an order. I almost feel like they did that so the two hours would go by and we couldn’t keep ordering.“

“Because we were up charged for everything. I ordered a burger that came without mayo or mustard and when I asked for mustard it was an additional .50 my husband asked for blue cheese instead of ranch it was also an additional .50 we ordered a child sized apple juice which was over $5 but the worst part was the service. Our waitress was the worst. She never asked if we needed anything so many things. I took one bite of my burger and it was so nasty. The other guests were nicer than she was. At $175 for our meal our service should have been better. We will certainly pick another restaurant for our next visit to Carson City.“

“Absolutely love this place! Wait time can be a little long BUT it doesnt take away from the experience. As soon as you taste Señora cocos food, you realize it is worth EVERY second of the wait. Best salsas in town, best carnitas in town. And a little tip: you can ask for your tacos to be made with handmade tortillas and they are MASSIVE. Will always consider this a family favorite!“

“We were introduced to this restaurant last year by our dear friend and neighbor. We were living in TX at the time. FF to now. We moved to Carson March 1st. This has been our go to Mexican Restaurant for over 7 months now. We have tried several, but still come back here. The food is outstanding. The owner is really sweet. Best waiter around is Bobby. Request him any day but Wednesday!! He will take care of you. All the waitstaff have been amazing. Food is always hot fresh and made to order. Actually going there today for lunch as it's been a few since our last visit. Will post pics on my next review!! The #27 is our go to. 4 enchiladas. We will get 2 with the ground sirloin and 2 with cheese with rice, refried beans and albondigas soup. We share for lunch and have enough to eat for dinner. 5 stars across the board“

“On our way back from Yosemite we stopped for dinner at 7pm. My wife had the Cajun Chicken Pasta with blackened chicken and a dinner salad. She Sid her Mel was excellent. The chicken was so tender it could be cut with a fork. She said she would have liked the Cajun seasoning on the pasta too. I had the 12oz Prime Rib with baked potato and house salad. East Coast Prime Rib is very tender and extremely fatty. The Prime Rib I ordered he very little fat and was very firm tasting. It came with two types of butter, sour cream, cream horseradish and au jus. My meal was very filling and excellent. Our waitress Shanna was very good.“

“There were four of us that had lunch at Peg's in Carson City, on April 11. The food was expensive and not what it use to be like before Covid. We had a very rude waitress and the food was a very poor quality and not as it was ordered. Carson is really growing, but you need to keep your quality up or you will not get return customers. It will be a long time, if ever, that we visit again.“

“Had the carne asada. It came with sides and tortillas. Chips and salsa are complementary. Had the horchata but it overly sweet and grainy but still refreshing. Everything else was good but not stand out or exceptional. Expect to spend around 15 per person. Overall quality is great for the price.“

We eat here about once a month (over the last 3 years), usually for dinner, but I was so impressed with their lunch menu recently - love the prices, portions, and great food!
