“Duke's was the perfect spot for an anniversary dinner. The ambiance is warm and welcoming. It has a little bit of a vintage steakhouse feel, but we absolutely loved it. Our server was very competent and attentive. I ordered the Fillet Mignon Oscar Style and it was rich and delicious. Perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The accompanying potato and green beans were also excellently cooked. My husband had the prime rib and was equally pleased. It's rare that we go somewhere for a "dining experience", but on our anniversaries we do and this was much needed and well enjoyed. We will definitely be returning.”

First of all, the owner/operator, Dolly, is truly amazing. She might be the most hospitable and humble person I have met in a long time. You can tell she truly cares about the food, her employees, and most of all the customer’s satisfaction. The space is very clean with plenty of open light. It would be a good spot for an intimate date, or to host a larger party. Also, we must give it up for the chef! I am amazed with how many distinct dishes came out of the kitchen in such little time. Each dish was unmistakable discernible. We will definitely be back and we hope this place stays open forever!”

However, keep in mind that tablecloths come with a cost of their own. They need to be laundered and then some need to be replaced. So there would be an added cost.So the question is would you prefer a little more ambiance or a cheaper price for an excellent meal?However, if you are looking for excellent service with delicious food at a reasonable price then this is the place for you.Not to mention, that the drive to Carson is beautiful. Plus there are plenty of things to do in Carson to enjoy. Perhaps it is time to beckon back to a slower pace of life. Take a nostalgic trip to Carson to see the Capitol all decorated for Christmas. “We came here for dinner and was very pleased. We ordered egg rolls, sizzling beef soup, the dinner special and cold sake. Everything was cooked fresh and came out hot. The vegetables in the soup were cooked perfectly and had a little crunch while the beef was tender and flavorful. The dinner special was neatly presented and the kung pao was delicious. Cold sake was a refreshing compliment to the hot soup and the egg rolls were crunchy and freshly cooked. Service was prompt and friendly. They gladly offered a highchair for our babe. We were pleasantly surprised and will be returning very soon. Thanks for the great experience!”

“Do yourself a favor and make time for this gem of a restaurant! We walked into this charming restaurant and were immediately greeted and seated at a table. Our server (I'm sorry but I didn't catch his name) was attentive and friendly. He was very knowledgeable about the wines they served. I had a dish that was based on cioppino but served with a tomato cream sauce. AWESOME! The scallops melted in my mouth like butter, the fish was firm and cooked, and all but one of my clams/mussels were opened and fully cooked. My friend has the Salmon Amore. My friend likes her salmon cooked slightly longer and the chef was happy to accommodate her wish. Her salmon was cooked perfectly and served with delicious sides of veggies, garlic creamed spinach and penne. We were both so full we had to decline dessert. It was a perfect meal!”

The only downfall is the seeds. They told us everything is made fresh right there. I believe it. I was very impressed. We all loved our ice cream. The prices were very reasonable too.”

“I love this place. If you want a coffee that doesn’t taste like it’s been sugared up by garbage and want a nice beverage made with a clear, obvious coffee taste to it. This is definitely the place to go.

However, I’ve noticed recently that the sugar is becoming more and more dominate in flavor, and the coffee becoming less and less.

It all really depends on who is working honestly. For the most part, it’s perfect 90% of the time.

For example, I love matcha green tea. Sometimes I’ll get a nice dark green tea flavor and color and taste, and other days, like today, I’ll have to throw away my drink because it was slightly green sugar milk requiring a dose of insulin afterwards.

I do love the place though.”

“I know this amazing place as a wedding photographer. I shoot about 40 weddings a year and every few weddings this amazing company ends up catering the event. All I have to say is... WOW!!! The food is amazing. They are on point and they are there to make sure everything is successful. Its not just about sending the food and bailing. They are there to serve, clean and even cut a cake every once in a while. I truly love when I get to see their name on the vendor list cause eating is the best part of being a wedding photographer!!!”

“This lady started her business selling tamales from her car almost 30 years ago. She has had her own store front now for several years. Extremely hard work and the best damn tamale In 500 miles!
She has a small, little cafe that local work crews like to frequent, but most of her business is take out.
Posole and Rice pudding is absolutely amazing!

“This particular store today was Awesome and very professional, but other stores should follow suit.

Unfortunately, Starbucks has gotten so big. It's hit and miss, depending on what store you go to. Starbucks has gotten to the point where they just want you to conform to what the day brings. Whether they're posted or not, especially when it comes to hours when open. Some stores open a 1/2 hour later, but they don't post it on the internet. It says one thing, and when you get there It says something else and then the people just look at you like you're crazy, they turned her back to you and don't let you know that it's going be at least a 1/2 hour before they open other than what the posted time says.
Bad on you Starbucks for your abuse of power. This post is for the Abundance of stores that switched their hours and really do have bad service, not for the one that I gave the five stars on.They were awesome.”

“We are from San Jose CA and we visit this place for the first time in 2018 while in vacation, it's a small place so we didn't think it will be so delicious. First time we tried the pupusas only, good size and very tasty for the price. Good service and I liked they have a bar for salsas and toppings available. Second time was this year, we had to stop on our way to Nevada city and this time we had pupusas, menudo and the fried yuca with pork that was so good?. We were so hungry that we didn't even think of taking pictures but I really recommend this small place, it is clean, good service good prices but the food it's amazing and tasty?. “We were introduced to this restaurant last year by our dear friend and neighbor. We were living in TX at the time. FF to now. We moved to Carson March 1st. This has been our go to Mexican Restaurant for over 7 months now. We have tried several, but still come back here. The food is outstanding. The owner is really sweet. Best waiter around is Bobby. Request him any day but Wednesday!! He will take care of you. All the waitstaff have been amazing. Food is always hot fresh and made to order. Actually going there today for lunch as it's been a few since our last visit. Will post pics on my next review!! The #27 is our go to. 4 enchiladas. We will get 2 with the ground sirloin and 2 with cheese with rice, refried beans and albondigas soup. We share for lunch and have enough to eat for dinner. 5 stars across the board”

“This place has a very efficient assembly line system during peak hours. I must have been there for only a few minutes, and they completed about 6 orders within that time span. You had one person cutting up the meat, another person handling the bread and toppings, and finally, someone handling the shakers and chash register. Like everyone knew their role and grinded through a bunch of orders. It has a perfect hint of heat and sweet.”

Also offer chicken fingers and fries :-).
