My wife and I have loved the Basil for years, for it’s delicious food, great service, and relaxing ambiance. I personally love the Basil because the food is always fresh, nutritious and great tasting. Recently we chose them to provide catering for a 35-person birthday celebration at our home. Based on the reviews, The Basil | Thai Restaurant is a standout Thai restaurant located in Old Town Carson. The quality of both the food and the service is outstanding. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the service is always on point and grownup friendly. Everything that comes out of the kitchen is loaded with flavor. The cooks are all from Thailand, and you can feel the care and authenticity in every dish. The Basil has the best Drunken Noodle in all of Northern Nevada, Washington, Wyoming, Colorado, and Istanbul. The garlic prawns were absolutely fantastic with beautiful, juicy tiger prawns. The Thai basil fried rice with chicken and egg is phenomenal and easily ranks as the best. Pad Thai is one of the best versions in the area, and the Thai tea and spring rolls are also a hit. The portions are HUGE. The restaurant offers lunch specials and daily specials. The mango rolls are incredible. The food is always so fresh and so reliable. There are many safe options for gluten-free diets. The Basil is a great pit stop on the way to South Lake Tahoe from Reno, and an absolute must-visit in Carson City.
