Azure, is super knowledgeable about the menu and I trust her recommendations on new things. Today I had the Cesar salad and it was the best I’ve had in a long time. I come to Rocker all the time and with service that is unmatched I will always be back to enjoy the ambiance and out of this world service.“

“This restaurant is fantastic! Lukas was one of the best servers I have come across. They have unique and flavorful twists on traditional Scandinavian dishes. And the manager Jeff sources local foods. The ahi appetizer in cones was a recommendation from Jeff and did not disappoint. Our Schnitzel was fabulous and so was the elk pot pie. It was quiet at the time we happened to be there so we got to chat a bit. We learned that the owner’s daughter is the pastry chef so we had to try the cheesecake. Also delicious. It was just a great dining experience.“

Everything else was good but it’s important to keep meat out of non-meat dishes. Although, the staff was very nice and took it off the bill. Would recommend for breakfast.“

“This is a good place to stop and have lunch during your Northstar ski experience. However, I can't give it five stars because the prices are at least double the normal cost. That applies to everything sold here. Options for vegan or vegetarian guests are very limited. All that aside, it's a nice ski lodge, and the food is fine if you like burgers, fries, pizza, chicken tenders, etc. Lines are usually short, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It is clean and tidy.“

“The best part of this restaurant is it's environment and it's dog friendliness. We always go with Ares our JRT and you often see other dogs, on the patio. Food is good too, but I actually like my own cooking of quality meat in general.“

We were seated in a beautiful spot with stunning views of the Northstar ski slopes on a bright, sunny day. The experience was elevated by sitting behind a subtle tinted glass that softened the harshness of the sun while still letting in all the light and scenery — the perfect balance. Surrounded by towering Sierra Nevada pines, the setting felt serene, cozy, and quintessentially Tahoe.

We started with a vanilla latte that was nothing short of magical — it truly felt like a warm embrace in a cup. Smooth, comforting, and crafted to perfection.

The meat burger was perfectly done — juicy, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. My son absolutely loved the chocolate and strawberry ice cream, which was a delightful treat.

Dessert was the grand finale: the salted caramel lotus with vanilla sponge cake, caramel glaze, and cacao nib streusel was an absolute masterpiece. Each bite delivered a beautiful harmony of textures, flavors & suspense; indulgent yet refined.

We enjoyed the four-course prix fixe menu with the wine pairing, and every course was outstanding. The food was creative, beautifully presented, and most importantly, absolutely delicious. The wine pairings were spot on and really complemented each dish.

What stood out just as much as the food was the hospitality. Everyone made us feel welcome, and the personalized anniversary touches were greatly appreciated.

Truckee is fortunate to have a restaurant of this caliber. If you’re looking for a memorable dinner, special occasion, or just an amazing meal, Trokay is worth every penny.

“I went in yesterday with an omelet in mind when I saw corned beef hash on the menu. When I ordered it, the waitress asked "canned or fresh?" That was an easy choice, fresh! It was perfect homemade hash and even contained some green pepper. The best that I have had in years! I ordered it with sliced tomatoes and was in seventh heaven. Can't wait to return. “We were able to get to Chambers Landing right before they closed for the season, and it was a perfect way to end our time in Lake Tahoe. You literally cannot beat the view here.

We shared the zucchini fries as an appetizer which were incredible. The ranch was better than the chipotle aioli. For entrees, my husband got the cheeseburger and fries while I got the fish and chips. The fries were perfectly crispy shoestring fries. I heard that the cheeseburger was delicious. My fish was really crispy and golden brown, I just got a few bites that weren't tender. I'm not sure if it was a cooking issue or just the particular piece of fish that made it hard to chew through.“

“This is the absolute best combination of laid back atmosphere, great bar food, the right prices, and fast service. My wife and I have a place nearby and come here often for dinner, and sometimes for breakfast. We'll also grab a beer on the deck at the end of the ski day. It's one of the highlights of the whole Donner Pass area.“
