We went to the NYE buffet gala at The Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe, and the food was terrific, especially the caviar and oysters, which were plentiful and delicious. Overall, a great night and beautiful setting. Drinks were a bit underwhelming for the price, and a couple of items listed (like the pasta bar and raclette) weren't in the buffet, but it was still a fun way to ring in the New Year.
couldn't have been worse. Went here for the new year's eve buffet and beyond the fact it was set up like an awards ceremony with no decor.. the food was arguably inedible. After waiting 30 minutes for them to “restock” the oyster bar.. i put some on my plate and add the cocktail sauce labeled adjacent to it to the oysters just to come and find out that they labeled it wrong and it was actually barbecue sauce next to the oyster bar . We have always loved the buffets at the Ritz and are Bonvoy loyalists. However this one didn't meet our expectations. As we entered it smelled like fish. After sitting down at our table our waitress asked if they greeted us with champagne and told us about the buffet and we said no. She quickly told us about everything and got us a glass of champagne. The decorations in the room were minimal and the music was a guy playing saxophone. But more importantly all of the ‘hot' food...read full review
