No surprise to me that this place ONLY LASTED 2 YEARS due to its suspicious business activities.

Exqusite food in the small space. Tried 6-8 tapas (shrimp, croquette, short rib, meatballs, etc) coupled with a pitcher of Sangria and all were extremely delicious. Happy hour gives u almost half off!

Showed up to find the tables all flipped upside down outside, patio locked shut and the owner I assume it was of the club stating it was closed. Yet their social media and website showed they were open Wednesday and Sunday. Frustrating

Hidden local gem! How fantastic!!! A little challenging to find but don't give up. That's what a speak easy is about, right? You'll be pleasantly surprised because it's not what you would expect for that area. It's got a unique/artistic Latin charm. 2020 meets 1974. Definitely a place to take a date. Sexy, cool and mysterious will set the tone for the evening. If you go with a group of girls, use the rose wall. I freakin love thePhoto op, anyone?! Also, their wall at the bar is framed with old bedroom furniture that has long been forgotten about... turned super cool. Genius! And since it's a bar I should talk about drinks, right?! Lol, I'm just obsessed with the aesthetics of the place. Their selection of tequila will satisfy any connoisseur. Although, I wish they had other options like whisky ;) I ended up ordering The Paloma with tajin and it was so refreshing. Ask for Andrea. She'll make it so tasty that you'll end up ordering more than one for sure! Salute!!!

They are open on Wednesday and Sunday nights now! Menu is simple but perfect, drinks are strong and delicious. The music is upbeat and atmosphere is super chill and nice. Great place to grab a few drinks on the patio in nice weather. The staff is extremely friendly and the owners Jim & Justin are humble and great!

**UPDATE- THEY HAVE FINALLY REOPENED** We are so glad 1974 Bodega has finally reopened. Our favorite little speakeasy. The have great servers, yummy drinks, and amazing food. Due to COVID-19 they check temperatures upon entering, and had everyone seated on the outside patio and had a great DJ tonight, can't wait to go back.

Per their updated service and hours we were there last Friday and it was closed. They didn't bother picking up the phone either.

Drinks are ok. Food was so over priced. Tasted like cafeteria food not even gonna lie. I guess it's a cute little place. Vibes are kinda weird. I'm all for saving waste but the paper straws with our cocktails tasted like I was drinking out of a No.2 pencil.

Stop. You need to check out this place NOW!!! To start, it's tucked away down a hallway, downstairs, in the basement, so cool. The lighting, furniture, and overall ambience is amazing. I told the bartender Ava I wanted a vodka based drink slightly sweet. She asked if I wanted spice, Uh, of course. The wife wanted the same but no slice. She whipped out two drinks in less then two minutes. Completely different drinks, and both were amazing. I had 3 Food was delicious. You have to try the Asada Taco. Cotija Fries are to die for. And don't forget the quest dip. Seriously, go check it out.

I was invited here with some good friends. My problem was I couldn't find this restaurant for the life of me. I circled the block like 5 times looking and looking until I called my friend to come out and get me. I had no idea it was a underground cozy cute spot basically under a club. I think they should have a sign pointing 1974 Bodega down here. Anyway the inside was to my likings clean and airy. Employees was very nice and sweet. The chips and salsa was prefect a must have. I ordered tacos and Mary Pickford drink. Everything was amazing

Best mezcal drinks I've ever had! Shout out to David for being an incredible host! If you're in the OC area and you're looking for some delicious drinks & a great vibe, come check out the Bodega. OC's best kept secret!

This place was hard to find. It's under a club with no sign directing you. We had to call them from the parking lot to figure out where to go. Drink were good. We paid early as we had somewhere else to be, and it wasnt busy, maybe 6 tables total.. Waited 40 minutes for 4 tacos. All of them came out stone cold, had them sent back waited 20 more minutes before leaving without any tacos.

We were in Huntington Beach just for the evening and searched yelp for Mexican cuisine and 1974 Bodega popped up. When we showed up we were skeptical to come in because the building has no signage and you walk down an ominous staircase. When you walk in you feel as if you were in a speak easy. The food was amazing -- recommendations would be the carne asada tacos the chicken were good but not my favorite. The street corn was authentic and paired well. The bar manager was very friendly and educational on all the mezcal selections. They've only been open 7 months! Hope you come in so they last! I definitely want to come back.
