I've been here multiple times and it never fails to give me that feel of eating my grandmother's cooking. I have tried other places, but this place just feels like home. The staff is great, caring and service is spot on. It may be a hole in the wall find, but it's a true gem! I highly recommend and if the Mexican breakfast items!

I always want to support small businesses. I have never in my life left a negative review anywhere. I have been going to Carlitos for few years. Today I spent $30 $15.00 ) for tortilla soup. I received a bowl of chicken broth( tasteless) and tortilla chips on side . I have had tortilla soup a lot different places this was a bowl of chicken broth, no tomatoes , no vegetables nothing. I looked at it and said something. Was told that is their tortilla soup. I believe new owners. This is deceiving and definitely will not ever go back. Was so disappointed and angry. I just through away money fell like it was stolen from me. I waited 25 minutes. Another couple other small child had ordered food also took so long they asked for it to go. They ended up leaving.

Wow. Probably one of my new favorite places for breakfast. Was craving Mexican and also diner food and then bam! Great service and community vibe. They even have artwork from local high school kids inside. Stop by or dine in!!

We ended up at Carlitos as a fluke thing and I'm glad we did. Big party, 11 of us, and everyone loved it! The hospitality was great, the food was excellent. We'll be back when we're back in town! 5 stars hands down!

Steak Picado was superb! House Salsa was very good. Chilaquiles were also delicious and the staff was super friendly and nice!

I should have never went back 😂 I went today and ordered a shredded beef burrito and when I got home it was a breakfast burrito so sad they suck that bad shame on me for going back to this dump UPDATE because I have to be honest this place has gone down hil I have been going once a week forever and recently has been TERRIBLE today for example I placed a to go order shredded beef burrito and after 35 mins it was ready I got home and it's chicken not shredded beef this is not the first time last time I ordered mendo and got posole I WONT go back the prices are too high service is slow and the lady is a joke it's not worth it if you want it right sit in and eat there deal with hard bench seats no ac and slow service because driving it back is worse then anything they don't care it's terrible Great food great price lovely staff all around Great experience

Had a machaca with egg breakfast burrito and my friend had a breakfast plate which included eggs, pancakes and sausage. Overall my burrito was big but it lacked flavor. Their salsas were a soupy green and a red. Both salsas were plain with no heat. The red salsa was like eating ketchup. People need to remember that it's Mexican food after all even though it's HB. Here they gave no choice. Suggestion: make 3 salsas. Hot, Medium and ketchup like salsa. A restaurant named Caliente on Bolsa Chica had a delicious spicy salsa. They too caved to people who didn't like spicy and changed salsa and ended up closing. Not if was because of salsa.

I have been going to Carlitos for years because it was so good. Today I went and they changed their red salsa to a salty red tomato sauce with no spice/flavor. Owner Carlos said people complained of the spice level? Mistake. It was terrible and ruined the tacos. I will not return. Why he doesn't have 2 choices of red I don't know. I'm done ?
