Don Ramon's Mexican Restaurant

My husband’s friend and his son were visiting us so I asked him what they wanted for his first meal back in the States, he said, “Let’s go for Mexican food.” Now, Mexican cuisine isn’t exactly my specialty, and the restaurants I’ve saved are mostly bar-type places that don’t open until 5 p.m.

We were in HB area so he checked on Yelp and chose Don Ramon’s Mexican Restaurant. As soon as we walked in, we saw a sweet elderly lady chatting with customers. Before they left, one of them even blew her a kiss! ? The atmosphere felt so warm and welcoming.

The restaurant’s dining area is split into three sections, each with a different decor style. We were seated in the section behind the bar. If you have kids, they’ll bring a sheet with a parrot for coloring and a pack of four crayons—but the coloring sheet is actually the kid’s menu (we only realized that after we finished our meal ).

? For lunch, we ordered the following specials
• #1 Super Deluxe Burrito
• #2 Tacos De Carne Asada
• #4 Marinated Chicken Tenders
• A lemonade for kid

The staff were all super friendly, checking in to make sure we enjoyed the food and asking if we needed anything else.
The portions were massive! We couldn’t finish, so we ended up packing everything to go.
And of course, I had to check out the restrooms! They were spotless, with an orchid placed on the sink and three paintings hanging outside. The overall decor was vibrant and distinctive.

Mexican food may not be my favorite, but the overall dining experience was great!

The bean dip and salsa with chips they bring out to start are delicious. The chips are warm and both dips are fantastic...just be careful not to fill up on them cuz the food is super good. The service is top notch. Both my wife and I commented that it seems that we don't see such attentive and numerous servers these days. The waiters were constantly checking our water, refilling the chips, making sure the food was good and clearing plates. We really enjoyed the food and the service!

Went to Don Ramon Parking lot. We decided to walk around the swamp meet before going to eat lunch at the restaurant BUT someone was really hurt and feeling manager proud today so he/she called the towing company on us…. Hope you are feeling happy because is costing us 500 dollars to a regular family

Good food. But they prices have risen. 2 meals was 58.00. 1 taco beans and rice. times 2. And 2 ice tea's way to much money.

Total disappointment, had high hopes but the food was a complete let down, it was bland and not at all special, every dish tasted the same. This place is a tourist trap

Love this place!!!!!

My kids said it was the best Mexican food I've ever eaten and they have eaten a lot of Mexican food. We ordered two servings of rice for our little guy and he was still hungry so we went for a third serving of rice. I had a giant serving of carnitas it was amazing flavorful and I took home what was left and finished it last night.

Kid-friendliness: There's Spanish rice play kids loved it the ate it 3 servings.

3 strikes and you are OUT! We have been here at least 6 six times since the restaurant opened. They are slow to seat you. Quick to serve you chips and salsa and bean dip (which is very good). Service is slow and receiving your food is at a snails pace.... This last time we waited ONE hour and STILL no food! We walked out and will NEVER will return!

Food is very average. Being from AZ we have top shelf Mexican food so this was disappointing.
Service was fine
Atmosphere was crazy loud. All floors are concrete, so that makes things worse.
A table of 5 drunk women and another table with a family of 10 were quite loud and exhibited no sense of self awareness. That's the clientele here I guess.

Preferred the aesthetic of the old location but the new one is nice too food is always good it’s a very reliable restaurant haven’t tried anything I don’t like

First time visiting Don Ramo's Restaurant, in my opinion the waiter gets the stars, the service was excellent, everything was very good from Isaac Báez, nothing was missing, full drinks, I would have liked to find more vegetarian or vegan dishes, my family loves the place Very clean, the toilet area was also very clean and pleasant. Upon entering we had a nice impression due to the very cultural decoration and beautiful paintings, the kitchen was very efficient and precise. Thanks for the service, we will return to the place.

My girlfriend and I love dining here. The server we already have is always attentive and gracious. Food is delish and great atmosphere. Amazing AC on these hot days!
