We were super excited to see a Handels out west! We have one in Madison AL, and it is our go to ice cream place. Great variety, generous portions and creaminess you not to find in any store bought ice cream. They make it there right in the store!

It was good. Relatively good value as well. Better than the other national chain down the street.

I recently visited this charming ice cream shop after noticing its impressive 4.8-star rating, and I must say, it didn't disappoint. My curiosity led me to order the Hot Fudge Sundae, priced at a reasonable $7.50. The experience was as delightful as the sundae itself, which you can see in the attached photo - truly a work of art in a bowl. The staff at this establishment were incredibly welcoming and friendly, adding to the overall positive atmosphere of the shop. It's worth noting that the shop primarily caters to takeout orders, which is perfect for enjoying a sweet treat on the go or in the comfort of your own home.In conclusion, this ice cream shop is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in high-quality, delicious ice cream served with a smile. Their attention to detail, from the presentation of their sundaes to their customer service, sets them apart from the rest. A hidden gem indeed!

I've never been able to get this joint before because there's usually a long line. Now I understand why! We came in a little bit before closing and we split a single scoop after dinner! Wow what a big single scoop!! Definitely appreciated the quantity + quality of the ice cream for a mere $5.50. Nice staff! A very tall fellow helped us out and he had a very welcoming and friendly vibe to him. Might I say the ice cream was absolutely yummy! A thick almost mochi-like consistency. We tried Bruster's last month but didn't love it due to the consistency and subtle flavoring. Handels was damn near perfect!! So excited to come back and try new flavors!! Late night ice cream it shall be!! The choco covered bananas caught my eye too. They had some neat waffle cone options as well

I frequent Handel's Homemade Ice Cream in Huntington Beach 2 to 3 times a month and have done so since my first noticing it being open. From the beginning, there has been an employee of remarkable presence for your customers dealings and service. Lenin was to be the first employee to serve myself and a long time friend I spend a couple of days a week hanging out at the beach with, and who also gets your delicious ice cream. We both are in our senior years and found it so refreshing to find such a fine, articulate and respectful young man in your employ, and who definitely had professional ambitions and a true knack for customer service.I was going to write this review awhile back, but due to my computer crashing, I was delayed until now after my getting a replacement laptop. What I was going to include was my suggestion to promote Lenin right away, as he'd be too good an employee to waste keeping back from a great potential. I was pleased to discover on my last visit that Lenin's movement up in responsibility was granted without necessity of any help from my suggestion. I will continue my visits to Handel's for my delicious Monkey Business treat and enjoy my being served by one of the sharpest young person I have had the privilege to know. The best ice cream, and the great employees here make each trip there a pleasurable experience. Thanks for listening, and everyone reading this, go get some of this ice cream!Dietary restrictions: They do have lactose intolerant optionsWheelchair accessibility: Wide entry door that is kept in the open position for patrons, no steps, entry tile is even with the pavement outside.

This is a very conflicting review. My family LOVES Handel's. That is why I am still giving it a 5 star. I would NEVER want Handel's to go down in their ratings. My review is mainly a thought. We were in Huntington Beach tonight. We ate dinner at Dukes and were looking for an ice cream place. As silly as this may sound to those who don't have kids, we promised our 5 year old an ice cream because he achieved a goal in school. We were so happy because Handel's was across the street. And, according to google, it was still open. Unfortunately, we arrived to the doors locked. A female employee saw me and gestured that they were closed. Being the desperate mom that made a promise, I called the store. To which no one answered, but a gentleman came to the door and confirmed the store was closed. I knew this answer would devastate my 5 year old, because he's 5 and doesn't understand flexibility. So I decide to get a little Karen and flash my phone screen that proved they were still open. He responded with saying "yeah, that get's confusing." I responded with, "well how am I going to explain that to a 5 year old?" From his young face and response, I obviously knew, he's never spent time around kids. "The register is closed, so there's nothing I can do." I responded with, "isn't there anything in there I can get and just give you cash?" As expected, " he responds with, "like i said, the register is closed." At that point, I knew there was no hope for a little thoughtfulness or even humanity. Was there really no ice cream around to give the kid a little taste? Are these kids really that desperate to go home? Yes they were desperate to get out of there. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what it felt like considering they were already locking their doors before 10. Technically, according to my Karen screenshot, it was 9:13. To be transparent, as my husband would say, I was being a Karen. But I'm not embarrassed. Where I grew up, we respected the businesses we worked for. My review is really not a matter of my 5 year old getting ice cream. It was the principal of these kids closing the shop early. There was still another 47 min for the shop to make money. Leaving early because the employee felt it was time, would've been an insult where I'm from. The male employee told me his boss told him to close at that time. Maybe there is more to why they are closing early. Does it cost more to pay the employees to the stated closing time and is ir better to close early for financial purposes? I don't know, but if that is true, I apologize. But Handel's please, for the sake of my 5 year old, fix your online times. Handel's does well and has deservedly opened multiple stores, and has still always given the local ice cream shop feel. Tonight, those young kids took that feeling away. It saddens me and I hope a pray for this younger generation to discover hard work and people skills. We love you Handel's

Another Handle''s ice cream outlet and it is as usual, good. But this place does not have seasonal flavors like their other outlets. Plus there is no seating for the dine-in option. You need to pay and park in the hunting beach parking and this shop is across the pier. They used to not honor the tasting Before buying option but recent visit they honored it, which is good.Quality - 4/5Atmosphere - 2/5Value for money - 4/5

Best Ice cream in the world! So many flavors to choose from, you can tell it's high quality ingredients and the service is awesome. Can't beat great ice cream with a great view of the Huntington Pier.
