One of the best phillys I've had the pleasure of consuming. Only critique is it seemed a bit short on cheese, but maybe it was just what I had ordered. Still bomb. And their garlic hot sauce puts it over the top. Yes.

Excellent quality and authentic flavor on this Philly cheese steak sandwich...and plenty of meat! Now days, so many places skimp on the meat and basically force ya to pay for extra meat in order to get a proper sandwich, but not John's. John's loads it up the right way! Also, the order of fries is massive...enough for 3 people.

The sandwiches are so good I think they add something to make you crave them! I'm hooked on the steak and mushroom. It's so big I either get two meals or need a friend to take half. Perfect treat on the way to or from the beach.

One of the best cheesesteaks I've had. A super cool and chill outdoor seating; the smell of cheesesteaks coming out of the kitchen was amazing ha! The service was absolutely fantastic; super kind and respectful. 10/10 recommend if you're looking for a great sandwich.

I haven't been to this location in many many years and so happen to be on that side of town. I could not have jumped up and down enough times to be so happy that this delicious place is still there. They are dog friendly most of all the sandwiches are as great as I remember them, you must go.

My friend had a need for a sub sandwich at lunch today. I immediately brought him to our favorite sandwich in Surf City! The Philly Grill! Zack was manning the order window at noon today. That guy is really good at providing the very best customer service and entertaining show! He may be the best in the business. His performance was just as good as the fabulous sandwich's John's Philly Grill is famous for. I ordered the number 5, and a half order of their famous fries. My friend got his submarine. It really was perfection!

We ordered to-go and ate it within 10mins. Sandwich was mostly bland. #4 "the works" with mushrooms, peppers, and onions. The meat was unseasoned and cheese hardly noticeable. I got the half sandwich and bread fell apart less than halfway through eating. Filling but underwhelming.

The reason I'm writing this review is because I'm currently sitting at a different shop that touts "Best Cheesesteaks in Orange County" and I feel like I wasted my money. John's has ruined me for other cheesesteak places. The bread, the steak, the cheese, the peppers; everything is quality! I get the green pepper steak with hot peppers and onions. It's insane! Also, the service here is impressively fast even when it's busy. Don't skip the place! It's perfection!

I was the first customer of the day and his customer service was some of the best I've ever had in my life! It was my first time visiting this establishment and he walked me through the menu giving me insight on was the popular items are. I went with his favorite Philly, "The Works". I also wanted a soda and he recommended the Hanks bottle soda. The root beer was a perfect pairing. I got a half order of fries and he suggested I try out their garlic pepper sauce. While I waited for my food, he was telling me about the place and pointed out the newspaper articles up on the wall.The Philly cheese steak was absolutely delicious. The bread was so soft and fresh. The garlic pepper sauce was absolute fire ?! On the spicer side, but so perfect on the cheese steak. Similar to The Pepper Plant California style hot sauce to get to an idea of the flavor profile. I bet it would be fantastic on some eggs, but I digress.Zach checked on me to see how I was liking my food and his recommendations. You can absolutely feel how passionate he is to providing a wonderful customer experience, and how much he loves his job. The world needs more people like him. Protect him at all costs, he's a gem. Also, if you can budget in a raise that would be cool. THE MAN ALSO SANG THE TASTYKAKE JINGLE!I will definitely make a stop here next time I'm in town. Thank you for making the world a better place.

OMGEEEEEEE!!! Seriously one of the best pastrami Sammie's EVERRRR!!! My Dad was Jewish (rip daddy) so I've had my share of pastrami Sammie's over the years and I've gotta say THIS WAS THE BOMB. I swear it must've weighed 5lbs. Would've taken a photo but was too busy devouring!! I had been craving a pastrami sammy for days and decided on this one and I'm SOOOO happy I did I'm sure all their other Sammie's are just as good. A little gem in HB for sure!!
