Growing up outside Philadelphia, I’m always on the hunt for authentic Philly cheese steaks. John’s has excellent cheese steaks and has been a Huntington Beach favorite for decades. The bread is amazing and baked locally which is a key ingredient to simply amazing sandwiches! They stuff a lot of meat and cheese and peppers and onions in there, and the result makes ya wanna shout, “Go Birds!” Someone will probably shout it back, too. If you like cheese steaks, yeah, get em the way ya like them at John’s!

Great spot in town
Anyone telling you there's a better Philly Cheesesteak in California is sadly mistaken. . This place has the right flavor, and bread. Always consistent and on point. Steak fries! They have been here for a long time and are a HB staple. You can order a half steak and half fry, walking out of there not spending much $ . Love this place!

Looked Philly, felt Philly, did not taste Philly. Also just no meat in the sandwich. Maybe the original stand is better but this isn’t worth it.

Customer service was very horrible, heavyset. Guy, there was very disrespectful.
The food was very salty, literally, it's like a pound of salt. On the fries, the server gave really aggressive attitude.Tasty cake was good 😆 🤣 😂
This is a class A establishment. They have a veggie sandwich that I got without cheese. It is one of the tastiest veg sandwiches from a non veg establishment. Highly recommend!

First of all, this is the worst cheesesteak I ever had in my life. People from Philly would roll in there grave if they ever tasted it, didint even mix the cheese in with the meat , just threw it on top. For all the Philly decor this place is horrible. Oh yea let’s tell everyone your closed at 6:30pm when closing is 7 and turn off the soda machine so I can’t get a refill.. never again will I come to this dump. The food I swear to god had no taste or flavor

Tried the traditional Philly cheese steak (albeit without onions, so maybe not completely traditional). It was absolutely delicious. It came out piping hot, and the peppers on it were great. The salsa add on is a nice flavor addition as well. The full size is much bigger than I thought, definitely could have gotten away with a half, but now I get a second meal out of it.
