This place is awesome!!!! Talk about such a cute spot and cozy diner if you want to enjoy the sunshine and wildlife while eating. The food is great! I absolutely loved my California eggs Benedict. It was fresh and seasoned perfectly!!! The home fries were crisp and tasty!!! Best of all I got to have a fun morning breakfast talking with my friends, enjoying the views of the lake and listening to the birds sing!!! What an amazing little diner spot. If you just want something simple, comfortable, casual and pleasant...this is your spot! I will definitely be back!!!!

The food is so horrible. I come back because what a peaceful location to have some food. 5 stars for location. 1 star for food. I tell myself each time I come to never come back again but my kids like the fries. That's the one thing that taste good. I had the egg Benedict, which by far was so hard to finish at a $15 price tag. The service was nice though. I liked the waiter. He was sweet.

Love this restaurant. You can eat outside with a lake as your backdrop or inside. Food is excellent, but it does get busy on the weekends...so go early...

Is great place in Huntington Beach for breakfast or lunch. I wish they were open for dinner. When the weather's nice, which it usually it's, sitting outside looking at the lake is pretty darn nice. The foods good and the services always very good.

A quaint restaurant with excellent service. We had a view of the lake while eating a very delicious lunch. My mom, husband, and I had lunch with our very good friend, and we very much enjoyed this restaurant.

Really beautiful spot, perfect for a sunny afternoon but waiting 25 minutes for 6 half-cooked mozzarella sticks that cost $12 ($2 each is steep, man) is rough. I get you have to up the cost to make up for being open only 7 hours a day but almost $60 for two people to have a lunch that wouldve cost $16 from the grocery store, which my hyopthetical toddler could've made, isn't great.Really beautiful spot, though.

This place makes me feel like I'm camping or something. I love it and I don't really know why because there's a lot of things about it that would usually bother me. The patio tables and chairs are old and some are bungie corded together but for whatever reason it doesn't bother me here. I love the ambiance when you sit outside, the service is good, and the few food I've tried is good. I defiantly would and have recommended it to friends and we'll defiantly be back.

My daughter had just finished up her fitness test for her charter at Huntington Central Park, and I needed coffee. Her test was right next to this big red barn cafe. Upon walking in I was surprised it overlooked the lake! It's a gorgeous view, with sounds of birds, it's great. A friend had told me about the cinnamon rolls, (had no idea she meant it was French toast). Me and my daughter both ordered it and it was delicious! And so was my coffee! Our waiter was so fast and friendly as well. This place is soo adorable! Definitely a must try for a day at the park,

Lovely quiet place by the lake. Dog friendly.

Had family come in from out of town. Decided to show them Kathy May's as we've been going for over 10 years. Sat down at 10:45am. Got drinks right away and then 1 hr of silence. No waitress, no refills, no one came back to our table. I had to get up and walk into the kitchen to ask for someone to come refill our coffee and drinks. All other tables around us have Sat down and eaten. We don't get our food until 12:15. Over 1 hr. The waitress proceeds to tell us that the kitchen mixed up our order. Come to find out that the waitress never entered it. Worst experience ever at Kathy May's. They did give us a discount on our vill but we'd rather have proper service. Sadly, very disappointing.

Busy Sunday morning. Took 20 minutes to get a table , we were not even overlooking the lake . Put our order in , it took more then 30 minutes for 3 eggs Benedict , what are they doing back there ?! Worst egg Benedicts we've ever had even the kids complained about them . My kids were starving ! Terrible customer service and food . Only nice thing is the view and come here if you're not in a hurry .

I organized a mini-reunion for 35 classmates graduating from La Mirada High, Class of 72. After reading some of the comments, I was uncertain whether or not my classmates would enjoy the restautant, particularly since us old geezers can be so picky! But much to everyone's delight, 1) we found the food super delicous, prices resasonable, and served promptly afer ordering. Our table ordered the Chile omelette, Seans Breakfast Skillet, and Medardo's Famous Croissant Club, and all other attendees enjoyed their food; 2) the service was impeccable! Our patio tables were already set up when we arrived, and the servers took our orders promptly. The owner even hired extra servers to tend to our needs!; and 3) you can't beat the ambience of eating outside on a perfect day right by the lake! I would give it 6 stars if possible and will definitely come back again for future gatherings.
